Pretty good!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first so-called gaming laptop I've purchased. The most similar laptop I've used before weighed about 2 pounds more, so this is a nice, slim comparison. It is, however, really hot and loud, and I might consider getting an external cooling fan to help with that. There is a little bloatware but it's possible to disable some of it. All-around happy with the purchase!

Absolute beast for anything!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I was originally looking for my best laptop options for college. After doing research I decided I wanted a laptop that was powerful to run anything I wanted, had a nice screen, and had an exceptional battery life. After more research I began to realize a gaming laptop with long battery life was what I was looking for. This computer went beyond my expectations and is a beast. To begin with, the specs are insane and it runs soooo smooth. Its screen is amazing and high quality for the price. The battery lasts more than 5 hours which is perfect and high for a gaming laptop (which is what I wanted). All of this, and not even to mention (could be a pro or con) it does not look like your typical RGB crazy gaming laptop. It looks professional and looks super clean. Love the laptop and would recommend this to anyone who has a certain price range.

I wanted a centered trackpad and got it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a gamer. I was waiting for new Samsung Galaxy Flex to replace my 2012 Samsung NP90X4D 15" i7-3517. I was annoyed that Samsung does not sell a 16gb model with Nvidia GPU in the USA and also I did not want the 10 key keypad and track pad shifted to the left. I wanted a centered track pad. It does not get in my way when typing. So I was looking at other brands and came across this MSI-GS66. It is thin and light for a gaming laptop but 1 lb heavier than the old Samsung. I decided I could handle that. The MSI Prestige was lighter but seemed less sturdy based on reviews. Best Buy had a lot of models out of stock. I was checking obsessively several times a day for a while but had to get something so this is it. I would have liked 32gb of memory but not available. I wanted Best Buy so I could bring it in if something happened vs. mailing it. The laptop is very nice and I am completely satisfied. The fan noise is not so bad as I put it on silent mode. I have one problem which is getting it to run on the Intel integrated GPU when using an external monitor. It only recognizes the external monitor with the Nvidia GPU. The power brick is huge/heavy and I will probably buy a 65watt or greater USB-C charger for travel. I like the large keyboard letters but not crazy about the font using lower case looking w, n and m.

The best laptop ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would recommend this product because it offers three fans in the pc, seven heat dissipation pipes, and loads of awesome features. It uses windows facial recognition for unlocking the computer and it only takes me half a millisecond to get in my laptop with this feature. This laptop also has three m.2 slots to upgrade your storage or get a chance to use the intel optaine drives to boost up the transfer speeds of your storage devices. I would recommend this product to content creators, and avid gamers. P.S. the best battery in a laptop ever.

Great beautiful gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop works as good as a computer with those kind of specs, you are paying a little bit over because the looks and aesthetics, for some is worth it and for some isn’t. You are paying for what you are getting nothing less nothing more. Compared with all that is out there on the market, this is a really good option. The only thing that I’ve notice since i got is that it overheats if you are not using the fans at its maximum capacity also they are a little bit noisy, its not a problem for me but theres my opinion.

Good... But not Great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this laptop not even 24 hours ago after reading how amazing everyone said it was in the reviews. From a technical stand point it is amazing. With the 2070 Max Q and 10th Gen i7 this really puts out work. Sadly mine has terrible Light bleeding in both bottom corners. I was really disappointed with that after seeing everyone say the screen was amazing. My right arrow key also sticks and doesn't spring back up every time. The fans are also extremely loud, I was playing light titles and the fans sounded louder than any laptop I've had. However that being said, it is very well built with minimum chassis flex and a very sleek design. The per key RGB looks great. It is a finger magnet however. I will be returning my unit tomorrow sadly and getting something different.

Great Purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research on purchasing a capable gaming laptop that I could also use for general everyday use. I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks now and I have no complaints so far. It is lightning fast at performing general every day tasks and it has great capability to play title games. Part of the reason I like this gaming laptop is that while it is still able to run high demanding games, it is still very low profile and looks and feels just like a normal laptop. I personally was not looking for a flashy eye catching machine and love the matte black finish on it. The only negative things I could say about it is that the fan does run louder when doing more intensive tasks. However, I don't know of many gaming laptops that don't have a louder fan. It is nothing to diminish this great product and I do not mind it at all. Overall great product and definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for a great gaming laptop.

Great all around laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had this laptop for too long but I would say that if you are considering upgrading to this product that I would highly recommend it. It's a bit pricey but it has everything that I could have hoped for. I do a lot of coding and the occasional gaming sessions and this thing is blazing fast. I personally prefer playing with higher settings instead of framerate but with everything maxed out on Call of Duty Warzone I get about 90-120 frames per second. Keep in mind this is with all the settings maxed out, that's pretty incredible. The screen is also pretty nice, it captures color extremely well. The keyboard on this is also pretty incredible, since I do a lot of typing on a day to day basis it was one of the first few things I noticed. One downside to the laptop is that its a fingerprint magnet but I really love the matte black finish, it is really low profile compared to other gaming laptops on the market. Another downside to the laptop is that since the trackpad is a bit big I tend to accidentally click when I am resting my palm on the computer. All in all its a great laptop and have definitely found the amount of money I spent on this worth it.

Great buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop quality is so awesome. The screen is the best I've ever seen and will easily run any program. Very good value for its specs if you compare it to others such as Alienware. You can change the keyboard LED by pressing F9. Even on battery saver mode, the games run quite smoothly. Due to the color, expect lots of fingerprint marks.

Checks almost all my boxes
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had recently bought and returned many laptops, and this is the first one of the group that I decided to keep. It was also the most expensive, but it is upgradable (RAM, Drives, WIFI card), and it is fairly portable. The biggest things for me was being able to upgrade to 32GB RAM, add a 2nd NVME drive, option to change WIFI card in the future, big battery, being able to charge via USB-C PD, and not being too expensive. So the only thing was that for the specs, the price was higher than I wanted, but everything else it was able to do. For USB-C PD charging, it accepts ONLY around 100W connection, which means the 20v with 4-5a, and a USB-C cable that can do 100W USB-C PD. I can verify that part works well. Granted, under heavy-loads, you will want to use the supplied cable. Lastly, on my unit, I was concerned about backlight bleed (as that is a problem that almost every laptop can have), and luckily my unit it wasn't too bad. The main purpose of this, was to replace my Macbook from 2015, my gaming desktop, which was 4+ years old, and have something portable for gaming, media consumption, and VR, and this one is able to do all of these.

Overall Great Laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this laptop supports the MSI name very well. Having the overall "stealth" look in my definition perfect. Keyboard feels great and doesn't make a ton of noise which is a plus in my opinion. This Computer runs very fast and has the parts to support high quality gaming and a portable workstation. Which is everything that I need.

my first gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had the GS66 for about a week now, this machine is amazing. since the first boot it showed the speed. very powerful and portable for the class. the processing power is supreme, I use it for work/school/and casual gaming. when on office setting the battery will last about 7-8 hours easy, on gaming is a different thing of course, with the RTX 2070 and all. I noticed that when the dedicated GPU (RTX 2070) is not utilized the power button light becomes white, and the battery will last forever, if there was an application using the GPU the light will turn orange. the sound quality is fair for gaming and music, but for meetings and ZOOM it is more than enough. Graphic rendering and editing is blazing fast, and the screen is phenomenal, I am happy I went with fast refresh rate FHD rather than the 4K. the keyboard is very comfortable to type with, key travel is perfect they feel very pleasant to use. the trackpad is very smooth and accurate, size is large and the click is very satisfying. this machine has every anyone need and more! it is not just for gamers, if you are a student, graphic designer, or a heavy gamer, look no further, this is THE ONE!

This was a great gaming laptop until it wasn’t
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had this gaming laptop for about 1 1/2 years before it really started giving us issues. This laptop worked great and could handle anything even VR. A few times the keys fell off and then it just kept over heating. It was fixed 3 times and the issue couldn’t be fixed. The last time we had it in for repair, it still overheated and would not charge. Eventually we just returned it since it was still under the warranty. Even with the issues we had I would still recommend this laptop.

Solid choice, especially this model
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best features of this laptop are definitely the battery, performance, and keyboard. All my gear is steelseries so I was very happy that MSI partnered up with them. If this is going to be your gaming laptop or you're going to use it for school then it's perfect. The only thing I miss is the numpad, then it would be perfect.

amazing value for money.. almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is about as good as you can get for this price... The only downsides are that the touchpad and speakers are not great compared to the macbook pro.. it also runs quite hot and the fan noise is unpleasant (by default they are switched on all the time !) if it had a better MBP style touchpad this thing would be perfect..

Runs well and smooth
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So overall I was fairly impressed by this computer overall. It comes with a nice 10th gen i7 processor with a RTX 2070 Max Q video card. Running Overwatch I was able to get around 100-130 FPS when the computer was running on best performance or around 60 FPS in battery saving mode. I was also able to run Apex at around 140 FPS on best performance and about 45 in battery saving mode. They keyboard is nicely lit up, however, it does not seem to get nearly as bright as it's previous version the GS65. You may run into issues right out of the box with they keyboard though and the RGB aspect if the computer has the incorrect driver installed. I personally recommend uninstalling the current SteelSeries driver and get the latest and greatest from their website. That will fix the out of the box RGB issues. Overall I was decently satisfied with this computer. However I will let you know that this computer will in fact run hot on the bottom (So placing on your laptop isn't a great idea) and it can get pretty warn on the keyboard area. Other than that I find this computer to be well made and worth the money that it cost.

Amazing gaming laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is powerful! The 240Hz display is beautiful and it's got great GPU to make the most of it. It has specs to play my favorite games on max settings without getting too hot (the fan can get a bit loud if you put it on full speed, but just wear headphones and it's no big deal) and it's light and portable enough to take out of the house. The Dragon Center software is pretty easy to use and provides easy access to performance and display profiles. The Steelseries keyboard has awesome per-key RGB, if you care about that, but you can turn it off if you need to look more professional. I appreciate how many ports this laptop has (though I do still need a USB hub for all of my devices). I was between this laptop or the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 also offered on BestBuy, but I opted for this MSI laptop due to the better GPU and display, as well as the sleek stealthy design. Overall, this laptop has been great so far, and I think it's a great choice for students or gamers who still want to look professional.

Just Right
Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a ton of research on finding a computer for my needs as a digitial designer and casual gamer, and this hit all the right marks. I'm still getting used to it now but I'm super happy with how solid it feels, and all the tactile experience of using it - which is important to consider if you're going to be using something for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Great laptop for the new year
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is amazing. It can run most current gen games on Ultra and the fan is quiet and unnoticeable after you put headphones on. It does run a bit hot but with its power and battery life I can see why it does. With the financing option on best buy this laptop is a worthy purchase

Great power, size, and price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop that can handle any game I want to play but is not too bulky, and the MSI GS66 Stealth is just what I was looking for. It runs all my games on high settings smoothly, and it is thin and light enough for me to carry it around easily. Plus it has all this power at a reasonable price. I looked at a lot of models, and this one is definitely the most bang for your buck, balancing power, size, and price.
