I bought this laptop coming off of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Series because I wanted more processing power and to use a wider suite of games (i loved the dell machine and still use it). This is an excellent light, sturdy, powerful machine that can run basically anything but I will note some things that people should be aware of upon purchase. 1) This thing runs *hot.* I've used it all day today and yesterday for work and for gaming and my hands SWEAT on this thing. The fan blows the hot air out the sides so if you are right handed and put the mouse right next to the machine, your right hand is going to run super warm. For comparison, only the bottom of my dell machine would really run warm and only sometimes and the fans blew the air out the back of it which in my opinion is the best. 2) The fan is very loud. Even on the lowest setting, I've had people say it sounds like i'm taking off into space. I do use a gaming headset with this too for instances like that. Even doing super simple tasks that don't require a lot of computing power make the fan incredibly loud and keyboard run hot. My Dell would be near silent during typical work tasks. Just some data points. Not sure how comparable machines like the Razer Blade 15 match up in terms of those things but I find myself now perusing peripherals so I can comfortably use my laptop without sweating up a storm.

I purchased this laptop a little over a month ago and so far it is living up to my expectations. I travel frequently for worked so I wanted a laptop that could be easy to take on the go and also be able to handle all I throw at it. I play a variety of games but mostly GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 while simultaneously streaming. It performs great and I am pleased for the power this laptop has. Key notes: It is lightweight, and doesn't really look like a gaming laptop which helps when I try to use it for business as well. The power of the laptop is excellent and fits what you would expect for the price range of a laptop. As expected the fans sound like a jet engine but I mostly use it with headphones on so I don't hear them anyways. If you use a microphone it won't pick up the fan noise if you put a noise gate on it. Overall I am very pleased and hope it doesn't let me down!

First time MSI customer. Paid a little too much for this laptop as compared to what I usually buy but this go around i was looking to pay some of the latest games and still be portable. I can say this is a quality piece hardware. Playing MS Flight Simulator on high settings and the graphic output of the video card and screen are excellent. The machine doesn't struggle at all playing this game. The fit and finish of this laptop is of high quality and the overall performance so far has been amazing. 16 Gb memory has been adequate and is upgradable if I want more. Performance from the 1TB SSD drive is superb. The sound is good from the speakers but of course headphones are the better choice. Overall very pleased with the product and the more I use it the more I'm okay with the price tag.

This computer is perfect for me, I wanted a gaming laptop that was light but still gave the performance I needed, It does get a little hot and if the fans are on max it's quite loud but the fans don't go to max easily. I highly recommend this laptop.

I've built gaming PCs in the past 3 years and owned laptops as well. By far, this purchase is one the best techs ive owned. I move around a lot and I only Usually carry around my Surface Laptop for productivity and work. I have my an amazing gaming PC build back at my house. This gaming laptop is the best of both worlds. I can game anywhere! Amazing 240Hz screen and RTX 2070 Max-q gives me an awesome experience gaming anywhere. Multiple ports allows me to connect multiple monitors for my daily job and the RGB Steel Series keyboard gives a nice touch, feel, and aesthetic when I type. I could replace my desktop and laptop with the MSI GS66 Stealth! XD Amazing Gaming Laptop Overall

I've been using this laptop since it released a couple of months ago. I'm really impressed with it's performance and looks. It's a laptop you won't worry about pulling out at work since it has a nicely subdued exterior compared to other gaming laptops. The 240hz display is super smooth and has very accurate color reproduction. I use the laptop mostly for development work and 3D modeling/rendering. The RTX2070 rips through everything I have thrown at it. It goes from completely off to logged in with Windows Hello in about 15 seconds. Battery life is good for a gaming machine, and the MSI offers quite a few battery management tools to extend the life of the battery itself. The only ding in portability is the size and weight of the power brick, but I accept that as a compromise with a laptop that packs this much power. Highly recommended!

The first 12 hours with were really promising. Good temps, fans are noisy but are tolerable. Still getting used to MSI software, games are doing good fps numbers (60+ fps on AAA games). The screen is like the real killer, 240 Hz. Definitely recommend

Couldn't beat the price for a 10th gen i7 and a RTX 2070 with 1TB SSD and 16GB memory. Includes Standard USB-C and a thunderbolt connection along with 3 usb 3 ports and an hdmi connection with multiple display support. Being able to be upgraded to 64GB RAM and a second SSD made it quite appealing for future-proofing. Switching back from Apple was never going to be easy after 10 years, but the feel of this computer at far below an Apple price is making the transition much easier. This is a gaming laptop by design so the fans are constantly dissipating the heat out the exhausts; you will hear them running, even when idled, and you probably won't want this sitting on your bare lap. It's a beast of a portable machine, so that's really to be expected. Could come with a more detailed manual, and even the online pdf could give more insight to the use of the included partnered software (dragon center, keyboard lighting, game center, etc). Had no issue with receipt of item; ordered on a Wednesday and delivered to my door by Friday evening. Booted right up, been using daily for a week now with no functional issues. Included Norton trial software did hamper my internet speed by almost 30% at default settings. Very pleased with my purchase.

I'm not much of a reviewer but I figured I'd throw my opinion out there maybe to help the next person looking for a new computer. I did some research on this before I decided to spend all the money on it and I have to say I love it! I play Elder Scrolls Online and my old MSI wasn't bad but I had it for 3 years and figured its time to upgrade. This laptop is insane! It plays ESO with almost always 60+ FPS no matter the scene. It obviously is a laptop so the fans do get alittle loud but I don't even notice it honestly and what else would you expect from such a powerful machine that is so thin. The screen is like butter when moving the mouse! The design is great I LOVE the keyboard individually lit keys. Big upgrade from my old MSI which was just 3 years old (nothing was wrong with it I just wanted to upgrade)

Overall this is an excellent computer to work with. It is purposed as a gaming computer but, I use it for my 3D software (Solidworks) due to the dedicated video card requirement. Is operates without major lagging. Is little to the heavier side and is not super portable but, to have the dedicated graphic card operating that's understandable. The only downside is the fan operation. Due to the components cramping in a such a small space it get heat up easily and the fan noise takes a little time for one to get used to it. It is really recommended to purchase a laptop cooler pad if is to be used an extended hours.

I have tried this computer out for a couple weeks now and have been pretty satisfied with its performance and design. I have played Forza Horizon 4 and Motorsport 7 on high to ultra settings and it has performed well. The computer does get hot very easily and has caused a couple crashes. I will be looking into a cooling pad to see if this helps. The screen looks great, and there is little screen flex when opening and closing the computer. The new all black design of the GS66 looks great and lives up to its stealth name, I did also like the gold accents of the GS65 as well. The mouse pad feels silky smooth and has great responsiveness. I am very happy with this purchase and I will continue to update this review as I get more time to experience what this laptop has to offer.

Good laptop for what it is. A little pricey I guess. Very powerful and good looking but a fingerprint magnet. In addition the Msi software breaks down frequently and needs to be deleted and reinstalled. The only problem is the fan noise. It is fine while at home or with any background noise but in a quiet classroom all you can hear is the burrrrrr. There is a way to underclock it by going into the bios but it is not worth the effort. Even with a silent mode and all settings turned down as low as they will go the fan makes a lot of noise. Also battery life lasts about 5 hours. Maybe more maybe less but around 5 hours. Screen is good colors good frames good. speaker is pretty good. backlight is very cool. charger is pretty big. stickers came off but that’s fine. camera is pretty good for zoom. a lot of software issues but not to bad. a few hardware issues like something with a ribbon that causes half the keyboard to not work sometimes tho ??

I have been in the computer business for almost 20 years. Built many computers from scratch. I know the hardware components and keep up with their changes over time. This laptop is really good for what it has and the money. It was very responsive and fast as it came (stock). But, I like to supercharge my laptops and after looking at all the options out there, I noticed that I could change the RAM with a higher speed version and add an additional SSD drive in the future. Because, really we spend a lot of money on these devices and it should have the capability to adapt to our needs for a long time. Some of this laptop's competitors only had the capability to replace the SSD with a higher size, this one you can add a second.

This laptop is a really great laptop. The processor can handle a bit of stress, in People Playground, a physics sandbox, it ran with a fairly large contraption with a few moving parts at a solid 50 FPS. Sounds low, but the best my old laptop could do was 5. And without that large contraption it ran over 300. I could play Planetary Annihilation and Sea of Thieves smoothly, and the RTX support on the graphics card is absolutely beautiful, unlike any I’ve seen before, almost photorealistic. The only better experience I’ve had was with my friend’s $4000+ custom setup, and even then, not that much better. 10/10 laptop, definitely recommend, and the light up keyboard is a plus, however practically useless.

I recently bought this laptop to replace my 2015 MacBook Pro and I can say it was a super big transition. I used this computer for both school and gaming and it runs super well. I don’t have any issues trying to run anything on it especially games. But the reason I only give it 4 stars is this. Sometimes the fans run so much and so loud that it’s almost insane. I could just be running Microsoft word sometimes and the fans run an insane amount and it’s not even 1 fan it’s both. I’ve read after I purchased this model that it is a common thing and you can change the fan mode but even with a quieter mode on they still run crazy fast and crazy loud. When everything runs normally though and the fans aren’t spinning crazy this computer model and everything about it is a super awesome buy especially for its price. If you are wanting a multifunctional computer and don’t want to buy a PC to game I think this is an amazing one to go with as it is super easy to work with and can run the things you want amazing

So I originally bought an ASUS and ended up returning it for various reasons. I'm so glad I did because this MSI is so much better! The laptop is really pretty and it's very sturdy and well made, even though it's thin. I love the font they used for the keys (stuff like that matters to me) and the way the keys feel when I type. So far it seems as fast as advertised. The fan isn't obnoxious like the ASUS fan was. I love that the speakers are nice and loud! The speakers are in front of the keyboard instead of underneath the laptop, which is a huge deal for me. The audio is a bit tinny, but I haven't messed with the levels yet. I'd definitely recommend this one over others in its same price range.

My wife and I were searching for new, portable machines for our gaming needs. We're a Navy family and we're moving out of country soon, and won't have access to our main tower. We did a lot of research; went between Razer, Alienware, but we found the most positive feedback from the MSI brand. I'd actually never heard of it before, so I was pretty nervous about investing in a new laptop from the company. But, I can say I'm so glad we decided to go with these laptops. The hardware is excellent. It's a true top quality machine with top quality components and great little luxuries added in as a cool cherry on top. The price was a little hard on the wallet, but compared to other machines we looked at, it was practically a steal. If these laptops are good for longevity too, I would never buy another kind of computer.
