Amazing laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first gaming PC of any kind, so take that into consideration. I upgraded to this from a Lenovo Yoga Book 2. The speed differences between the two is insane. The combination of the 10th gen i7, RTX 2070, and 240hz screen just makes everything seem so fast and fluid. So far, I've played Rocket League, Overwatch, and Gears Tactics. It runs each game flawlessly. 120+ fps and on RL I'm getting 250+ (I cap it at 240 since the screen can only display 240). The fans can get loud at times but nothing terrible. Overall I highly recommend this PC.

Amazing Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, amazing graphics and speed. Only downside is the fan is a bit loud while playing games on high graphics and it gets really hot. Other than that I would recommend this to everyone.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I buy this laptop today and is very very nice, the colors of the keyboard are amazing and the screen is amazing also. The graphics are super nice because I can play any games now and do graphic design now thanks to this NVIDIA GEFORCE RTC. Thank you Best Buy and MSI for such a great purchase.

Professional Looks & without Compromise.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MSI GS66 Stealth is an excellent choice for a thin-and-light gaming/professional laptop that achieves its goal without making unnecessary compromises. My config: - Core i7-10750H (6-Core) - 16GB DDR4-2666 (2x8) - 1TB Samsung PM981 NVMe SSD - RTX 2070 Max-Q - 240Hz Display I am a professional IT engineer and I usually carry two laptops: a MacBook Air for lightweight and/or quick tasks, and a larger Windows laptop for more heavy lifting jobs and running various linux VMs. As my job requires me to work in and around businesses, it's extremely important that my equipment appear professional and not imply "GAMER!!!" when someone looks at my laptop. The GS66 stealth was ultimately chosen due to its very delberate design choices that forego the typical "RGB explosion" and "crazy angles" look for a much more mature, understated appearance. In this area, the GS66 Stealth succeeds with flying colors. The Good: - CPU performance of this machine is excellent. The Core i7-10750H performs at or above other laptops featuring the same part, and, in my opinion six cores is the sweet spot for a thin design like this. - The GPU, despite being a Max-Q model of the RTX 2070, does a fantastic job and delivers plenty of performance for the 240Hz display. I'd compare it to a desktop GTX 1070 in terms of how it handles games, which is truly something amazing given how thin this laptop is. - The dispaly is a dream. 1080p is the perfect resolution for a laptop this size, and both its brightness and color accuracy are excellent. The high-refresh rate is also nice, but for professional use, drop it back to 60Hz, as it will dramatically extend battery life. - Battery life is, in a word, excellent. It won't beat the Acer G14, but it'll certianly get you more than the average gaming laptop... IF you turn the dispaly refresh rate down to 60Hz. In this configuration, I get 6-8 hours of (non-gaming) use out of this machine, which is a great achievement by MSI. Well done. - The Chassis feels extremely premium and the machine has virtually no flex or give. - The trackpad is among the best I've seen on a Windows laptop. Its very large and made of real glass, and it uses the Microsoft Precision drivers which is always a good thing. It feels satisfying to click as well. - The keyboard is fine. Nothing amazing to say about it, other than the (thankfully) customizable RGB which can be tweaked to all white (which I use) or off. The Bad: - 16GB is plenty of RAM for a laptop like this, but MSI chose to use DDR4-2666 for some reason as opposed to the faster DDR4-2933 that the CPU is capable of. I do not understand this choice, as it leaves some (admittedly minimal) CPU performance on the table. - The plastic strip around the front of the chassis is a strange addition. I don't know what they were going for with it, as it tends to make the front of the machine feel cheaper than it actually is. - Windows 10 Home edition is awful. MSI really should include Pro with higher end laptops like this. Summary: - I think the GS66 Stealth is my favorite Windows laptop to date. Is specs are extremely strong, the display is great, the chassis is professional-looking, and the battery life is (thankfully) quite long. I purchased the machine for $1699, which I believe is an extremely good deal at the time of writing (June 2020).

Great laptop for years to come
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this for a few months I can say that I love my laptop. The keys on the keyboard are big enough and allows me to type with less errors. Very powerful I can throw anything at it and still runs smoothly. Just a few hiccups but no biggie: - The case/chassis is metal so after a while it gets supper hot assuming it's on your lap. - The speakers seem low quality, hence "okay" sound not really a deal breaker since most of laptops out there don't have great speakers, but if you put on some headphones then is a different story. - Since the case is metal it is a fingerprint magnet, just wipe it with a cloth and you are good to go. I calibrated my battery to 80% so it's enough for me, I haven't done any gaming yet just take that into consideration. Other than that I think is a bit pricey but after doing an extensive research it was either this laptop or the Razer Blade 15. I got this because the specs are way better and it has an ethernet port which for me that's a must.

Not too shabby!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall quality of the laptop is pretty darn good!. The screen in my unit has no screen bleeding. The touch pad is very smooth and responsive. The keyboard is one of the nicest things about this laptop, even though there is not 10 key pad, it's very bright, has adjustable brightness, it comes with different modes, and you can also customize it. The thermals in this laptop are great, At idle you can't even hear the fans running, which is very impressive for such powerful laptop. The fans at full speed are somewhat loud, but the sound its not a high pitch one, its more of a smooth blow sound. Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Great machine with a few small flaws
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for work, gaming and making videos. So far it has performed well and super fast. I am happy with this purchase so far. The few small gripes I have are just kinda "quality of life" gripes as opposed to "omg this is awful!" I use this to do a lot of online meetings. The people I'm talking to have said they can hear the fan when it runs. I'm sure there's an option somewhere to keep this from happening but I haven't found it yet. But the fan sound is temporary (only last like 10 seconds). The wifi will sometimes just disconnect for no reason. I don't know why this happens, but it seems to be a Windows 10 problem as opposed to a problem with MSI. The speakers could be better. Not a whole lot of bass. So voices sound kinda "tinny." I use headphones primarily with this and it's fine that way. Again, those are small quality of life gripes, and not somethings that would keep me from recommending this.

Work hard, Play hard.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite part about this laptop hands down is the sleek exterior that allows me to use it at work and still look professional. The keyboard is excellent and the color customizations are fun to mess around with. I do miss my number pad for work purposes but I'm getting along okay without it. The difference in weight and size from my old laptop with the same screen size is nuts! This model is so light and the screen frame is nice and thin. The graphics are great and sound quality is pretty impressive for the size of the system. Finger prints do show up pretty easily on the outside, but it's worth it for the aesthetics.

Pretty solid gaming and productivity laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this model seems to be great. For normal browsing and non-intensive work, it's really quiet and doesn't heat up hardly at all. They keyboard layout is very comfortable and was easy to get used to (lack of the 10-key keeps your hands centered more). Under load, the fans get going, but you have to expect it with the level of processing going on under the hood. The screen is a nice matte finish, and the boarder is less about 1 cm thick on the sides. Sound on the built-in speakers is a little tinny, but acceptable. Weight is good. You can tell there's a lot of battery inside, and it's a trade-off I'm okay with.

Extremely Powerful Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop performed well in most games and tests ran, however it ran quite hot during these tests and got quite a bit loud, almost to the point where wearing headphones was necessary to not be annoyed. Other than that, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

My First PC
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a mac user for more than a decade, and I've been wanting a PC for awhile. So when my mac started dying, I knew it was time to do some research. Razer is known as the mac of PC's, but MSI is known as being almost equivalent to Razer's for a significantly cheaper price. I can't compare it to a Razer, but this computer definitely holds up. Nicely built, stupid fast, easily customizable. I personally think it's one of the best GS66 options out there for the price and features you get. As other people have noted, the matte black shows all of your fingerprints, and are not easily removed.

Great gaming and programming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this laptop for our daughter who is going into a computer science program so she would have a system capable of running programming environments well, and also be able to easily handle audio/visual projects and some light gaming. This system has proven more than adequate for all of these take. Some of the MSI packed in programs are a bit flakey, but no more so than is typically seen in these types of laptops. One surprise has been the battery life, it has been way better than expected. Still not on par with a tablet, but very good for a laptop of these type.

The best compact gaming laptops
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion, this is one of the best compact gaming laptops for the price-performance ratio. It has the best screen I've seen, I even stopped using the monitor. With these characteristics in such a compact body and with this weight, other manufacturers have no competitors, the cost will be more expensive. Also, the pros are that you can easily add another 1 SSD disk and replace the memory. Cons: not a very good camera and not very good sound from the speakers.

Build quality and screen!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Build quality is much better than the GS65 and the chassis is solid, no creaking, and screen hinges are sturdy. I really want to like this machine and I think most people will. My current system is a Lenovo X1 Extreme and I mainly do 2D Unity development. I actually have better system performance (disk I/O, memory speed, launching apps) from my Lenovo, which surprised me given that it's a couple years old. The MSI runs really hot and the fans are always on. I adjusted the fan curves and they shut off for a bit, but even at idle, they will ramp back up. If you're a gamer, I think this system will be pretty amazing for you as the screen is very nice, the keyboard is pleasant, and it's not super heavy. Though, for my development, I'll be venturing towards an eGPU for that extra oomph, since my current system is still strong.

Amazing machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously an amazing purchase. Games like Assassins Creed run very smoothly with no lag or any other issues whatsoever. This is my first gaming laptop, and I am thoroughly satisfied so far. The RGB took some time to figure out, but it was a breeze afterwards. Connecting devices is easy, and I was able to sync all my info from my old laptop easily. The keyboard is absolutely splendid, and the touchpad doesn't have extreme sensitivity, so not just any random movements will trigger it. The RTX graphics are delightful, and yes, they make Minecraft look amazing. So far, so good!

Great laptop for professionals
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to use for my engineering courses and applications. It runs all of my engineering software like CAD and ASPEN splendidly and without lag which is a stark contrast to how my other PC crashed multiple times after a few minutes of running these RAM-heavy software. The laptop is relatively light and small for a gaming laptop which makes it easy to put in a case or book bag and travel with. Games run smoothly with a nice refresh rate. The only downsides that I have seen when using this laptop is the bezel near the touchpad portion of the laptop and that the laptop can get a little warm which might be uncomfortable. The plastic bezel is uncomfortable when typing or working for long hours as it can scrape the inside of the wrists; however, I usually avoid this by wearing a watch band or scrunchie.

The best gaming laptop I've ever bought
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually always stick with MSI so maybe this review comes a little bias, but I can't find one complaint about it. -Keyboard feels great, especially for a laptop. -Speed is amazing. -Nothing beats a 240hz monitor (and it's mobile)! -Runs cool to warm mostly -Not loud at all -Has just enough plugs for what you need. -Individual keyboard LED lighting options I can't find any cons... If I had to maybe choose one it would be that a larger screen option would be nice. The price is amazing for the specs. I can't recommend it any further. Good job MSI.

It’s a wonderful laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m in a place with pretty bad Wi-Fi and this pc runs more smooth than any other I’ve used. It’s specs are solid and I’ve downloaded quite a few big games on it, to which every one runs smoothly without any sort of drawback on frames or reduction in image quality. The souls from the laptop isn’t the greatest but I don’t really Use them much anyways, they are clear and loud when I do use them though. Downloads are managed well and I can have something going while I game or do other things which is awesome. Overall a solid pc, I’m happy with this buy.

sturdy, everyone is jealous, weird mouse pad place
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using an older computer from my mom and it was slower than my phone. I've been wanting to go back to school and get into gaming without spending an arm and a leg for a good laptop. This is my first PC purchase since switching from a Mac. I love the feeling of the case! It is sturdy and looks like a solid laptop without having to flash it is a gaming one. I will say the mouse pad is huge and the placement is a little weird. My right hand will lightly touch it and it is closer to the edge. The fan also was a little louder than I expected for in normal mode, but I guess this happens more with gaming pc. Overall so far I'm enjoying it. It is very fast, I love that I can upgrade the RAM if I need to in the future. Everyone is jealous. And for the price, you really can't beat it!
