I really enjoy this laptop. It feels powerful and sleek. Love the metal coating and the customizable backlit keyboard. It’s really fast as well. Screen quality is gorgeous. It’s a little heavy, but I’m ok with that.

This is a really good computer. We use it as a gaming and school computer. It works well for both. It's lightweight and the picture quality is good. If I was to knock the computer I would say MSI doesn't do a good job helping you set it up. The keyboard is amazing with lots of colors and patterns. But it took us a while to realize that the SteelSeries Engine 3 app controls it. It also took us a while to figure out the MSI Dragon Center app controls many of the settings. It would have been nice if they included something that explained that. Otherwise great computer.

You know what you are paying for and MSI delivers. Laptop runs old and new games very well, including being able to run VR games. Lightweight and portable for its size. Charger was a bit more bulky than expected.

I bought this MSI GS66 Stealth laptop for my nephew when it was first released back in May 2020 to replace his MSI GS63 Stealth. The all black exterior is classy and doesn't scream "gaming rig" which will serve him well when he goes off to college soon. This laptop is built solidly and handles everything he throws at it without a hitch. All the newest games play at high FPS, including VR, and the 240hz display is gorgeous! We initially didn't realize there was no dedicated number pad but this was not an issue for him and he actually likes the larger size of the keys as compared to his GS63. There are both cheaper and more expensive models of this laptop but this one hits the sweet spot between price and performance...He loves this thing!

I was on the market for a gaming computer for some time. I could go the "build your own computer" route but given the NYC apartments limited space, I decided a gaming laptop would be a better choice. I saw this computer and after comparing with similar products, this one was the winner. Let me tell you all, this laptop RULES. Runs a little hot, but this is expected due to the power this little beast packs. The looks are amazing, I love the feeling of the metal body of this computer on my hands. Superior and minimalist yet functional design. Virtual machines? Done. Play latests AAA game tiles on high settings? Done. The only sad thing is that it cannot make me coffee in the morning.

My son and I are quite new to gaming laptops, but we did lots of research on what to get to supporting our games and VR which need very high processing power and graphic card quality. We are not disappointed at all ! in fact we are very very happy with this MSI. We went with this very recent MSi GS66 model configuration, and even though not cheap, it's worth every penny. We especially like the SW tools with the unique realtime data for the high end games. The keyboard is obviously a bonus for my son. The VR performance it top notch. No issues with high temperature. No issues with fan noise. The weight of the laptop was a key factor for selecting this GS model versus other MSi. Overall I think we're gonna keep it for a while.

I bought this laptop based on employees recommendation, glad I did I thought my other laptop was fast, boy was I wrong . my other laptop started to slow down on my games it was spitting and sputtering on frame rates and that's when I knew I needed a new system. when I got it home I started unpackaging it and to my surprise it was very well rapped I was surprised the care they took rapping it. when I got it setup and running , man this thing is fast and it handles a game with high graphics. I'm so happy with this laptop. thanks so much to the employee for his recommendation .

This laptop is one of the best mobile gaming laptops out there. Stock settings with no undervolting will get you great performance at 95c. But, 95c is a bit hot. Turning on Coolerboost got me a bit lower to 90-93c, but still quiet toasty. I followed a few videos on youtube and read a few reddit post about other users experiencing the same issue on their machines, but undervolting seems to resolved it. So i went ahead and did it. There are a few ways to do this but i used Throttlestop, which allowed me ot clock the cpu at 4.1ghz and leaving the gpu alone. This allows me to get temps as cool as 70-75c under heavy load and gaming. THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE. And I still get over 144hz in fps with great detail and quality. If you are willing to put in some work, you can get great temps and better longevity out of this machine. But if you want to leave it at stock, this machine still performs very good, just not too sure about the longevity with cpu hitting 90-95c temps. As for GPU, it is the max-q edition. Not too bad in preformance. Id place it at about even to my 2060 super preformance. Again, i left GPU Settings stock, and get great preformance and hottest its gotten was 60c. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A 2070 series card. Yes its not a 3070, but for the price and performance, you get wayyy more than you bargain for. Over all this is a great laptop. all around do everything machine.

Disclaimer: For completing this review I will receive a MSI Gaming Headset. This will not affect my review of the device, and I will be giving my 100% honest opinions below. The GS66 is a laptop I was debating about for a long time. I wasn't sure if it would be right for me since it doesn't have great speakers, isn't the most powerful laptop, and doesn't have a particularly bright screen. Those were all things that, on paper, I thought I'd care about. But, when it came to actually choosing a laptop that hit all the right specs at the right price, this ended up being at the top of the list. TL;DR I highly recommend it. Why I think this is the perfect laptop for me: - Supports charging via the Thunderbolt 3 USB C port (seriously an underrated feature and let's you bring the GS66 anywhere without lugging around a large power brick) - Thinner and lighter than most notebooks in this class - Performance is great and there's genuinely good performance modes to choose from - Proper fan control (thank the lord!) - Battery life is the best of any gaming laptop (seriously getting 10 hours using "Super Battery" mode in the MSI Dragon Center app while watching netflix, browsing the web, or editing docs) - Keyboard is tactile, not too loud, and doesn't take a lot of pressure to actuate. - Can operate with the fans turned off for completely silent operation, say if you're in a meeting or just using it on your bed while typing/browsing the web. - Thermals are pretty awesome honestly and there's advanced controls within Bios for those who know what they're doing to finely control any aspect of performance - 240Hz refresh rate can switch to 60Hz for extra battery boost (I could write an entire essay on why G Sync is unnecessary in a laptop) - Glass trackpad is top of its class, though there is one part of the trackpad that takes a little extra force to get clicks to register. No biggie for me but worth mentioning - I/O is top of its class with 1 thunderbolt 3, 1 USB C 3.2 gen 2, and three USB A 3.2 gen 2 (10gbps!) ports, gigabit ethernet, HDMI 2.0. Just awesome. - Keyboard with RGB lighting that persists even when you restart your computer. Many gaming laptops revert to their factory RGB until you log into windows. It means you can bring this with you to class or business meetings without anyone knowing it's a gaming laptop. - The hinge lets the laptop lay flat on a table (180 degrees) which makes this a possible choice for business use. - Intel Wi-Fi that performs really well and has a stable connection.

After upgrading from a MacBook Pro 13”, I can’t look back. This laptop has amazing build quality and amazing performance with decent pricing for an 2070 laptop. Did run into some heating problems at first but can quickly be fixed with some new thermal paste and undervolting. Overall just a great gaming laptop

I bought this computer a few months ago and have had a chance to put it through the ringer. I play alot of games, some of them with mods (Skyrim, Ni No Kuni, The Witcher) and they have all run relatively well on Medium/High graphics. I haven't had any issues with lagging or anything but the fans do kick in after a certain point because the computer gets hot running the gaming programs. When it comes to carrying out my everyday work (working from home, taking care of my internship, grad school homework), it runs like a beauty. I can have a ton of tabs open with no issues. I really do love this computer and can't wait to see how it holds up over the years!

Great Laptop. Performance is excellent considering price. The screen is a tad dim and the speakers are terrible. Other than that, no complaints at all. The 240hz screen is so fast and smooth, mated with the 2070 gives you wonderful gaming. I do wish the 2070 wasnt a max-q, but that's another review for nvidia.

It's okay for a laptop but it could be better in terms of audio. The microphone quality isn't the greatest, but it works. The speakers are OK. Otherwise, the computer runs very fast and the performance is great. If you are looking for a laptop, please consider getting a headset along with getting this PC.

So I very rarely review any product but I did want to take a minute to review the brand spanking new MSI 5266 Stealth I just bought last month. I've been using this thing for close to 6-7 weeks now and its been great. Just to give a bit of context. I'm applying for PhD Programs right now so definitely expecting to use this thing for work and school, probably be running something like SPSS, SAS, and R on this thing. I also play video games occasionally when I have time. I play some pretty old games, Sins of a Solar Empire and Stellaris and I'm looking at starting Crusader Kings 3 in the near future. With that said I was looking at getting a high-end laptop that would do basically anything I wanted it to do and at the same time be something fairly innocuous that would blend in without attracting too much attention in a library or starbucks. I actually didn't get a chance to see this thing in person as Bestbuy didn't have a floor model but after checking reviews, the MSI website, along with a couple featured article reviews in online magazines about it, I decided to pull the trigger. Very glad I did. I think the 'look' and design of the laptop are one of the definite highlights. I can't stand Apple and I no longer trust Microsoft products. I've never gone bought an MSI product before, but the look of this thing is fairly 'minimalist' I would say with a pretty low profile with the top closed and the dragon logo on the back is muted so you have to see it in the proper light for it to appear. The 'stealth' look is definitely what they achieved and what I was looking for. Display, keyboard, mouse pad, and port selection are all excellent and plenty of basically everything I was looking for. The display has been fairly spectacular, I've never had a display with a 240hz refresh rate and it does seem extremely smooth, I haven't had a single complaint yet with anything I've done. The keyboard I'm pretty impressed with as well. I should use this space to forewarn you about the software for the steelseries. It took me some playing with to figure everything out but when I did I was able to get a custom lighting set up on it, which is hot. The keys themselves are awesome and feel solid and reliable with excellent color and lighting. If I had a couple small complaints, I did have some odd problems getting steam games to run and mutiple games I tried to run all kept crashing. However upon research this appears to be a problem with windows 10 and some feature to 'disable full screen optimization' along with needing to run Steam in admin mode, so windows 10 is absolute hot garbage. I am "_" this close to just wiping the whole thing and buying some copy of windows 7 to install, 7 never gave me this many issues. And the mandatory updates for 10 I hate as well. I will also say that fingerprints do seem to smudge this thing easily. And tiny bits of dust and debris do collect around the keyboard and mousepad. The matte look I think is just part and parcel with collecting fingerprints, I have no idea if there's anything to be done about that, but it is visible. I will also say that the speakers on this thing, while loud and capable, are definitely 'tinny' and you can hear some sort of tint, not sure if it qualifies as 'distortion', but definitely something to consider if that really matters to you. I don't care that much. Things running a GeForce RTX2070 Max-Q which seems pretty hot, will have to run it through its paces with something at some point. MSI though seems great so far, everything works as designed, I've got the thing streaming to a second display which doesn't seem to give it a single issue at all. Overall, I highly recommend the laptop!
