Beautiful display, beautiful chassis, good specs. I normally game with headphones, but the dynamic audio speakers work really well. My friends have also commented that my voice is a lot clearer so the mic must be good too. I am also a fan of the tactile-pleasing extended touchpad. My first MSI, and I like their gaming and performance oriented software through the dragon center and killer controls. This is also surprisingly light-weight compared to other gaming laptops I have owned, which is nice because I like to game in different places.

I've had the computer for about a month. I've purchased it to learn to code video games in VR. It has not let me down yet! It's been able to throw everything I've got from playing games, a thousand tabs, running Unity in the back and forgetting to take it off game mode (while downloading the legend of korra from Microsoft) without even lagging. The only thing I've noticed and the reason I didn't provide an excellent review is out of the box, the SteelSeries 3 Engine keyboard's LED control does turn off after the computer is closed. I was forced to reinstall the drivers for the keyboard, but after that- it's been working like normal. Though the LED brightness continues to decrease on it's on. It's fixed once you increase the brightness on the keyboard.

I will start by saying that I am very impressed with the capabilities of this laptop. I have spent the last few years in the engineering world working with 3D modeling programs and have recently decided to try working for myself and after many hours of looking thru desktop options and laptops I decided on this VERY affordable GS66. This laptop is doubling as my main operating system in place of a tower system for work and for an IRacing Simulator and it handles it with ease. Thanks MSI for a great product!

Great laptop. Gets a little hot, but you can't beat it for the price! Pros: -Excellent build quality. -upgradable ram -two m.2 slots -easy to access all of the inside components -three fans underneath -you can control the fan speed and adjust profiles -huge batter -Can charge over USB-C Cons: All laptops this thin have trouble keeping the CPU cool. I like a silent computer operation. To achieve this I undervolted the CPU, Downclocked the CPU, and adjusted the fan profile. I highly recommend this build configuration.

    Winning the anniversary gift

This was an anniversary gift for my wife, and she is utterly delighted with it. It's at least as good as her year old Alienware desktop in most aspects, yet she can sit with it on her lap in the comfort of her recliner while the family hangs out together in the living room. The only thing she wasn't super thrilled about was the price, which she felt to be a little excessive for a device bought purely for gaming, but she got over it when she saw just how well it performed :)

Bought this for two reason. For editing photos and playing games. It does amazing at both. I don't normally splurge on expensive laptops. But wanted something I can get 3-4 years use out of. Also nice knowing you can upgrade the Ram to 64gb and have an extra M.2 slot for storage. The 1Tb fills up very fast so you definitely want to have an external HD handy. I can play fallout 76 on high/ultra settings with no problem. Haven't tried any other games yet. But with the 8GB memory card I know I will be good for a while. One thing to keep in mind. The plastic and metal surfaces on the laptop attract fingerprints like you wouldn't believe. Worse then a stainless fridge. So prepare to get a skin for it.

After having my daughter get extremely frustrated with the performance of her previous laptop, I decided to get her a gaming laptop. The MSI GS66 was able to handle anything her games threw at it as well as all of her Adobe Cloud programs she uses to do her artwork. Her games looked great with the 240 Hz refresh rate! Installing the drawing pad as well as the rest of the setup was a breeze. Add in the large SSD and the super quick boot up time, this was a great deal that I would heartily recommend to friends!

I was looking for a computer that would be great for school and for gaming. My university gave us a list of a few computers that engineering students will need and after careful research, I wound up with an MSI. It had all the correct specs that were required by my major and in some aspects, they were even better. I also wanted a computer that could handle gaming, and well this is a well-known gaming PC. So far I have had no issues with it. Great performance and looks. Would definitely recommend it.

We had a regular laptop, which after 8 years of usage was more than subpar. It made gaming more of a nightmare than a pleasing experience. We finally decided to update/upgrade and after much research this one checked off all our boxes in every regard. The price was a little higher than we originally anticipated spending but we couldn't resist. After 3 days of gaming this has been everything we had hoped for and is well worth the price point. SUPER pleased; hopefully this continues for a long time.

If you are like me, you need a laptop or notebook capable of running today's games on higher settings. This laptop is more than capable of that. I travel for work constantly and cannot carry around a giant gaming tower so this machine suits me well. I have had another MSI laptop for 5 years and obtained thousands of hours of intense use from it. I expect the same from this laptop. As far as looks go, it is slim and aesthetically pleasing. You wont have any issues fitting this into a normal backpack or laptop bag. I will easily be able to take this with me on an airplane. For quality, the keyboard is a steelseries RBG board. It is quiet, responsive and again, very aesthetic. You can change the pattern and color of the keys to your hearts desire. The chassis is durable and easy to clean. For the specs, it will run any game I have on ultra quality. I play everything from World of Warcraft to Call of duty and this machine has not struggled yet. The only con I have experienced so far is the heat this laptop will generate. There are tutorials you can look up online to make this problem almost disappear and I highly recommend doing so. I would also purchase a cooling mat to set the laptop on. If you travel or just want a laptop that's easy to move around yet still capable of outrunning most gaming PCs, this is the one for you. I will update this review in 30 days or so with a little bit more use on it.

Finally after returning 3 different computers, 2 being Asus Zephyrus laptops I found something that will work for me. I watch LTT frequently to help me find tech & when I saw his review on the Asus Zephyrus 14 with the Ryzen 9 processor I decided it was finally time to buy a new computer. The Laptop lasted me 27 days. For some reason mine couldn't handle gaming or running blender 3d. I contacted BestBuy customer support and they told me I could either return it for a full refund or swap it for something else. I decided to just return it. Well a month later I was in the store and saw the new Surface Pro & since I have heard everyone raving about I decided to give it a shot..... The Surface pro 7 lasted me less than 4 hours. almost 2k for an all in one that cant even run AutoDesk. After that I tried the ASUS Zephrus M15 with the 1660. I wanted to love this laptop, I really did. Same with the Zephyrus 14 but they have some weird issue. I am a 3d design and graphics artist and these laptops just couldn't hold up. I gave in and spent $300 more and bought the MSI GS66. I really didn't want to. The design is truly awful compared to the zephyrus but with it you get windows hello and a product that works. I run a 34" ultrawide 4k ips hdr panel and a wacom cintiq 16 and stream from my Aluratek 4k web cam and it does it all. The only complaint I have is all the bloatware but since this one actually works I am going to ignore that and give it a perfect score. If you are thinking about getting a laptop and are turned off by this ones appearance. Just ignore it, trust me. This one was rated over the Razer 15 and honestly is a good device. If I could I would just build a pc but I deploy so much that I want something that I can bring with me. 10/10 would recommend for the money. MSI please stop adding so much useless apps with your product... Hope this helps.

    Best Laptop I've Ever Used.

This laptop is the fastest laptop I've ever used. I came from using a Lenovo Legion Y530 and there are some insane differences. Here are my main points about it: 1. I was at first skeptical about the 2070 Max-Q, but then I opened Battlefield V and I ran it smoothly at Ultra settings. 2. The screen is very nice. I got the 240hz instead of the 300hz but I doubt there is a noticeable difference. 3. The keyboard is nice and tactile without being hard to type on. 4. FACE RECOGNITION!!! 5. The build quality is the best I've seen on a laptop, but I have one little problem. It's the plastic finish on the front of the keyboard, which is sharp at the ends of it. This won't affect most people using it on a desk, because I use it on my lap and my wrists have to be angled a certain way that it only will affect me. This problem is very small and should not interfere with everyday use. 6. it's dimensions are incredible. On my old laptop, the screen was the same size diagonally, but this laptop is still WAY smaller. 7. Very minimalistic and non-flashy. One of it's biggest selling points for me is that it didn't have a light up logo on the back, or some crazy colored trim pieces. The only thing that looks slightly gamer-y is the keyboard, which you can turn off anyways. 8. It's price is great for what you get. When researching for a new laptop, I was considering a Razer Blade. When I compared them side-to-side I noticed how expensive the Razer was. I could either get this laptop (i7 2070 Max-Q 16GB RAM 1TB storage) for $1800 or a Blade (2060 i7 16gb 512GB storage) for the same price. I immediately knew that I had to go for the MSI. I am currently using this laptop for gaming, photo editing, and video editing (but not much). Before buying this laptop I didn't know much about MSI, but now that I bought it, I'm definitely gonna be a repeat customer for them. I completely recommend this laptop for anyone who has the budget for it.

Just got the laptop today. Shipping was delayed by a day, but it's the courier's fault, not Best Buy. The laptop looks sleek and very professional! Coming from a 5-year old gaming laptop, this is leaps ahead! I just played CS:GO and hit 120fps easily. I was actually a bit worried that the fans might be a bit loud as stated by other reviews, but honestly. it's not that bad compared to other gaming laptops. Overall, it was a great buy! Will update this review if anything comes up.

went from a 2011 MacBook pro to this computer, was equivalent to living like a peasant all my life and then finding out I was actually royalty and became a king. I bought it for my personal business work and to be able to game as well. I can run any game on this without any problems. I love the color boost option for it keeps the laptop very cool during high stress. its wonderful and much more than I asked for. excellent and I run 240 fps with the highest settings on fortnite.
