Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the exceptional performance of the Stealth 17.3" gaming laptop, citing its ability to handle demanding games and applications with ease. However, some users express concerns regarding the keyboard, describing it as small and occasionally prone to issues with key responsiveness and overheating. The laptop's cooling system also receives criticism for its inability to adequately manage heat during intensive use. Overall, the powerful performance is a significant positive, but potential keyboard and heat problems should be considered.

Would love to give it 5 stars but i just cant. When typing the keyboard runs away with a letter or if your deleting something i keep deleting and u loose more than u want too delete. Performance is 100% Sound. 85% had some issues with crackling when i used headset When running games on ultra or mythical settings. It runs about 80°c and when just browsing it runs under 40°c Fans on boost are a bit loud but they move alot of air and keep everything cool soo i have no issue on normal they are quiet and still do the job When i try to set keyboard lighting its voice activated and doesnt always work. Also when i shut the laptop off it reverts back too rgb color when i want steady red

    Amazing Upgrade

I had been looking to upgrade my GE72VR Apache Pro for the past few months and I almost bought a MSI Vector last month but I heard the 40 series laptop were coming out so I decided to wait. Man am I glad I did! I've only had the laptop a few days but I finding more about it that I like everyday. I was looking at the Pulse laptops because they were closer to the budget I wanted to spend but they were out of stock. The Stealth cost more but it comes with more. The main thing I was worried about with the Stealth was the heat because of the thinner chassis and some of the other reviews I've read. It doesn't run anywhere near as hot as I though it would. My old laptop could cook an egg while gaming even with turbo fan mode on and it is also elevated off the table slightly. The cooling on the Stealth is way better. About half of the bottom of the laptop is vented and the fans move way more air than my old one, Especially if you have turbo mode on and even more if you have the back of the laptop elevated. The fans are louder but they are higher rpm and moving a lot more air so it's not a concern for me. The display on this thing is awesome. The colors are so much more vibrant than I'm use to even with the display dimmed all the way down. With the brightness turned all the way up this thing is bright! I like the wide angle anti-glare display a lot. I do a lot if auto grinding in games and I can see the display from couch with the display all the way down. I couldn't do that with my old laptop. If you using it in a bright setting or outside you should have no problem seeing the screen. It has run every game I've tried so far on ultra settings without any problems. The keyboard is a little smaller than my old laptop but I actually like it better as it fits my hands better. The only thing I wish is had is the keyboard keys of the Pulse laptop but that is a minor thing. Overall it was more than I wanted to spend but I'm glad I did. So if you have the budget this is a laptop you definitely want to consider.

I purchased this laptop back in April and spec wise it’s a real monster. It’s wicked fast and the lighting ports are amazing. The downside is that Heat dissipates poorly. You cannot do more than game for short periods of time without it becoming a space heater. At one point I almost caught a motel 6 on fire because I was gaming with it on the bed. You run the risk of burning out the gpu prematurely As a side note MSI did not have a product key for the windows factory image so when I restored it I lost my product activation.

it has a good hardware in it. but I found some errors. some times when typing the last key is repeated ranmdomly. the power buttom does not work correctly. and last but not least and super importan, it is a very hot laptop when gaming or doing high workload. eventhought the cpu and gpu are under 90 degress celcius the chasis get to hot, and the keyboard becomes untouchable because it burns yours fingers. I dont knwo if it is normal because of it high end hardware but I have to buy and external keyboard so I can play video games. another thing is that there is no gsync on the integrated screen nor with the hdmi, only through external monitor by usb c

I tried to love it. Unfortunately, it's not pure gaming laptop. It has 14 cores. It's pretty big deal. If you want to have a great gaming laptop then get 13980 hx have 24 cores! Not 13900. The keyboard is a little bit annoying. It's not really comfortable to type. It can be very hot when I played game with high settings. Overall, it's nice laptop. It's perfect for who like to play games sometime with medium settings. Carry around often. Maybe it'd be perfect for who's in college. It's just not for me. I decided to return it to the store.

Not sure about yet...some issues out of the box

I'm giving this three stars for now, may edit later. I'm not sure what to think of this laptop yet. It has some odd things wrong right out the box. I've researched them online and seems there aren't consistent fixes for them. The most annoying and evident is the keyboard. It seems the space bar works inconsistently--at times a light touch inserts a space, other times you have to press it much harder to insert a space. The other issue is keys will repeat many times without holding them down. So you might hit "e" once and it's like you hold down the key so you end up with 8 or 10 e's. There was some odd crackling in external speakers that I hooked up too right out of the box, but an update from MSI's website seems to have fixed it. There are some other oddities and quirks, but these are the main complaints.

I've been using the computer for about a week now. Overall - amazing machine. But out of the box, I had some issues with repeating keys on my keyboard. When you stop typing, it would act like you were holding down the last key still. And the backspace did the same thing. Using a forum, I changed keyboard drivers and that issue was fixed. Now my speakers crackle occasionally. Researching how to fix that. For the price, I expected to not have any issues. Which is kinda disappointing. It's fast, efficient, pretty and amazing over all, just frustrating to have to troubleshoot a brand new $3000 computer. Just a few quirks that should be fixed. It's all over forums, MSI should fix this before releasing more computers.

I did not purchase this computer as a gamming computer, but rather to have the ability to use all the editing software I own with ease. This laptop has enough power to easily process and create without crashing or slowing. It has plenty of space and ram and is so smooth and fast. Will make creating so much easier. Love this laptop.

I'm enjoying it. It plays most of my games at maxed out graphics. But I have noticed it gets very hot and will start to get choppy playing graphic heavy games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3. Even with a cooling pad it's hard to manage heat.

Overall a decent laptop, BUT it's not designed for gamings. 2 issues I had: 1. Keys kept repeating itself randomly. It's very annoying when your laptop repeat your last command. 2. The cooling system is absolutely garbage. The laptop keyboard area became too HOT if you run a game for more than half an hour. Although MSI claims It's a gaming laptop, It's actually not designed for gamings.

Some games run beautifully (Elden Ring, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition ran 60fps on a 4k monitor), others do not (Halo Infinite getting <40fps at 1440p) I ultimately returned it because I couldn't identify the bottleneck that was killing performance in some games. The Core i9 CPU was always extremely hot (78-80°C) during gaming, even when it was only at 1-5% utilization. The heat appeared to prevent the GPU from being able to run full tilt. Limiting power to the CPU appeared to help a bit in Halo's case, but it was still not great. For this price I didn't want to have to deal with these headaches. RIP

Honestly not sure why this machine is getting hate. I've had it since early March and it's been nothing but outstanding. I've never had the repeating keystroke issue others are reporting, maybe the BIOS updates solved that? Also thermals have been fine. I've played Hogwarts Legacies, the RE4 remake, and I'm currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn and the CPU/GPU have never spiked above 85/75C with zero thermal throttling. I am using a laptop cooling pad, minus that nothing special. All games have been set to max and typically 1% FPS lows on HW Legacies never dipped below 90 and all other games play well above 120. The 12GB of VRAM has future proofed me for a few years hopefully. I plan on repasting in a few months and also throwing in another SSD in the free M.2 slot. Overall I'm very satisfied with this laptop and will be using it for years!

I needed a new laptop and wanted to buy something that wouldn't need upgrading for quite a while. The MSI Stealth is a great desktop replacement and it was 1st generation components when I bought it. It runs quick, plays any game I throw at it at high fps and no issues. Excellent!

Irredeemable trash. While I'm setting up the computer I get stuck keys that repeat. The port selection and placement is terrible. The USBs are on the left side, instead of the right, where your mouse would go. The power port is in the back, instead of on the side, combined with a laughably short power cable means your power brick with have to sit on your desk. The arrow and numpad keys are 2/3's the size of the rest of the keys making them unusable. It's louder than my 5 year old computer just when using a browser. It get hot to the touch just downloading a game, not even playing one. I haven't had a worse out of box experience in my 25+ years of owning computers.

The laptop is fast and sleek, can handle games at very high or ultra settings depending on age. Excellent screen, sound and drivers. I'd deduct some minor points for some keyboard layout issues but nothing major. And I have had some minor issues with Bluetooth but I haven't yet fully explored drivers for that potential issues. Note the laptop can definitely run hot when playing games so I'd recommend a cooler. Honestly I think that's just the name of the game with high end laptops though. Also the lights are nice (not usually my thing but if you get them why not enjoy them) and the software that adjusts clock speeds is wonderful.
