The specs are decent on this laptop, and it works well for most of my limited needs. However, the build quality is suspect at best. And the warranty is effectively worthless when something goes wrong with it. I have had my MSI laptop for about a week. The built-in display has already fizzled out so I can only use the laptop when it's connected to an external display. So much for portability, now I'm stuck sitting at my desk again. I went through MSI help chat and they asked a couple questions before telling me to RMA the laptop and get it repaired. I filled out the RMA form, where I learned they don't send the shipping labels and proper shipping boxes -- that's all on the customer to sort out and pay for on a warrantied device. Further review of the RMA process showed dozens and dozens of people who paid to ship their devices to MSI only to be told there was extensive damage to the computer that was not detailed in the RMA request. They want you to either pay for costly repair services that sometimes overshadow the cost of buying a new laptop completely, or ship it back to you still broken. It's more cost effective to handle your own warranty repairs. But your smartest decision would be to pass by MSI and go with another manufacturer. If you need something for gaming, try Dell. If you don't care about gaming at all, switch to Mac.

Everything is great except, it took 3 hours to do windows updates.

Performance wise still lagging. Could have great speed.

Poorly built. Overheats with poor cooling. 1 cheap fan for cooling

it’s alright not to bad not to great, used it 2 times and it stopped charging

Ran hot, charger port broke after unplugging and needed replaced after 9months. Considered physical damage and wanted 1k to replace motherboard from over heating and charging port. Waste of money.

Took over a week to have it ready for pickup at the store

Runs really slow for basic small games! Not at all what i expected. Good for basic use only no games!

The computer is good. I like the refresh rate but it is a little heavy IMO

Stopped working after a month. Went through troubleshooting on the phone with MSI which failed to fix the issue. They then asked me to mail it in for warranty. Once they received it, I was sent a quote for nearly the full cost I paid for the device and also got a notice that they are refusing to cover under warranty.

Didn’t even last 2 months. allow me to play my games and glitches and also, for some reason it keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi, which I don’t know why when everything works perfectly fine with the Wi-Fi with this laptop keep disconnecting from the Wi-Fi and not letting me play any of my games at all.

I bought this computer.After They told me they would send it to me by mail.then they told me they don't have it in stock. i waited a Lot for it,Everyone always acted like they were doing me a favor by getting me the computer.

I did all of these reviews to find the best gaming computer for the best price. This 11 out after spinning over a $1000 on it and logging on to it. For a second time, the screen was black with a small blue spinner that I couldn't get beyond even after calling the number on the back of the laptop. Now I have to send it back because it's too late to return it. Money wasted!!

loud as a plane buy a pc dont buy a "gaming laptop" they dont exist

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. The other reviews were great & the price was good. She ised it for not even two weeks when all of a sudden it would freeze. We got it to unfreeze the first time and the next day it did it again. So, I sent it back for a refund. Maybe we just got a bad one, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.

I would never buy anything from this store again. They lie to make sure you purchase the item. Told me it was 30 days to price match now they are saying its 15 days. I talked to 3 different people and I had 3 different answer.

Very good for the price. It has a few flaws but nothing unexpected for it's price class. Pros: -Runs cool, both CPU and GPU peak at ~60 degrees under load on battery. CPU can go higher on charge but rarely would under gaming loads. GPU power limit doesn't seem to change with being on battery or charge. -Looks cool, as expected with any MSI product -Lots of I/O, much better than non gaming laptops in this price class -Charger is high capacity and robust/quality feeling -Good weight and material quality, feels premium when picking it up -2 storage slots (1x sata and 1x nvme), NVMe is default, but I added my own 2TB Samsung 870 EVO with the included mounting hardware and it was recognized without issue. -Dual channel 3200MHz memory, good for a laptop of this price class -Fast iGPU, good for light games/regular apps. -dGPU and CPU perform as expected, though TDP settings are clearly on the lower side -Display quality is as expected for an IPS panel Cons: -Meh battery, but it's a gaming laptop, what do you expect? -Up to 3 hours light tasks and realistic power settings -45 minutes to 1 hour heavy gaming load -Sub par display response time -HDMI limited to 4K 30, I personally don't use the HDMI port but some may find this an issue. -Fan runs loud under load despite low temps (50s and 60s) -Display is dim, use it indoors, max brightness required outside or near bright windows. Keep the display clean and be expected to need higher brightness options in games at times. -Not overclockable, this is expected however -Somewhat difficult to disassemble, problematic if you want to upgrade ram/SSD or clean out the fans in the future. Tips: -Make sure all non gaming apps use the iGPU such as your browser to keep battery life good. Use hwinfo to make sure the dGPU isn't active when not necessary, it should draw 1-2W idle. -UEFI settings can be fully unlocked with L-ALT + R-CTRL + R-SHIFT + F2 for extensive config options. Hold power button for 30 seconds to clear CMOS if you set the wrong thing. -Display hinge is supposedly fragile, be careful with applying too much force when opening it. -Use the included SSD mounting hardware Overall: It has it's problems, but it's a cheaper laptop so it's expected to be imperfect. For the price you get it, and especially when on sale, it's a great value.
