This was my 1st electric pressure cooker purchase. I felt the product was lacking instructions. Receipes would have been helpful. I have only used it 1x. Its intimidating when you do not know what your doing

Pros: Great build quality, stainless steal pot (reason I bought this model). Cons: Operation of device is left to your imagination. I'd like to say, for the money I spent on this model, I'm very impressed with the build quality. Everything is solid and locks into place, the stainless steal pot is nice and not wafer thin. I couldn't be happier with the build quality, seeing that I was buying a house brand product and not an Instant Pot. But that's where my happiness with this product starts and stops. I can't remember the last time that I've bought a product that has such unintuitive controls and terrible instructions. As someone who actually writes technical manuals for a living, the lack of information in this book is appalling. No where in the instruction book does it tell you what any of the buttons actually do. Okay, I've figured out Saute and Slow cook and obviously the rice buttons are for rice. I'm assuming that slow cook is crock pot mode, but what about soup and steam? Are these pressure or crock pot modes? I don't know, and I guess I'll have to experiment to find out. I'm assuming that "Bean Chili" is the main pressure cooker mode, but what psi does it raise it to? I need to know that to follow instructions. The fact that the timer keeps going while the cooker is building pressure is annoying, too, as it basically renders the timer useless. You still have to watch the pot to see when it's up to pressure and then time your cooking from there. Also, is there no adjustable pressure level or do I need to pick a rice mode for a lower pressure? I'll never know. It's very frustrating that I'll have to experiment with food to figure all this out when they could have just defined the button functions and pressure level in the book. Best Buy, if you're reading this and can provide the information, it would be appreciated. Heck, e-mail me the information and the source document and I'll add a table in there for you so no one else has to deal with this mess on an otherwise decent product.

In the beginning it was fine and worked well, after a month and a half , I probably used it 5 or 6 times, the Valve that should hold the pressure fell out and cannot be used as a pressure cooker any more.Unfortunately this happen after the 30 day of purchasing the item, So Best buy refused to return it. will buy another one but different brand.

Purchased this rice cooker from Best Buy on June 22, 2017 for $100. I used it to make rice three times since then. I plugged it in yesterday, 08/04/17 and it won't even turn on. Totally dead. I've owned two other brands of rice cooker in the past and they were work horses. This one didn't perform very well the three times I used it, either, browning the rice during the cook cycle.

This pressure cooker was a real disappointment. Cooking surface was not not stick. I could tell that it would be an irritation every time I tried to use it. The whole thing just looked and felt so cheap that I put it back in the box and returned it. At least it was easy to return at the store.

The manual that comes with this is so poorly written. Best Buy, you need to get this fixed if you want me to give this a 5 star rating. Overall the product seems solid.

It cooks meat faster than the regular pot, saving about 50% of time. I like the stainless steel inner pot very much. It is more durable than the non stick coated aluminum pot. The only short is it does not have the delay cooking feature.

    Insignia pressure cooker manual

worst part of this pc is the manual. I hate there is no way to set the cook time in minutes, I have a recipe for potatoes I need to set the timer to 4 minutes. I use a preset button for cooking bean chili and then use the timer I have on my stove that tells me the 4 minutes cook time is up. First I have to pay attention to when the pc expels the steam and settles down for the pressure cooking as if I were using a stove top cooker and not what should be simple to do for an electric pc. I think Best Buy should see to a far better instruction manual with recipes and the cook time for each of the presets, the one I have is atrocious. and then have a new version of this pc that will allow setting the cook time manually without having to go through all the folderol, the stainless steel pot is why I wanted this cooker.
