Customers consistently note the Multigroom Series 7400's excellent battery life and ease of use, along with its waterproof design and useful attachments. Many appreciate its power and water resistance, finding it convenient for showering. However, some users found the trimming performance inconsistent and the body shaver less effective than expected for a close shave.

This is a great little trimmer. This unit comes with several attachments along with a leather case to keep them all in. I charged it for a day before using, and a week later, it still holds a charge. You have two speeds - regular, and you have a Turbo button for those stubborn hairs. This is primarily used with the body shaver. While this feature is nice in theory, I didn't feel there was a lot of difference in effectiveness. The shaver performed like a typical electric shaver of this type, as in I didn't think it cut very close, My husband said it was fine, but his normal 5-blade, non-powered razor still does a better job. I did try the body shaver on my own, fine, arm hair, and it did an OK job with that. The precision trimmer and the nose trimmer work great. I used the precision trimmer to clean up the hairs on my husband's neck, and the nose trimmer to tame his eyebrows.

I have owned many trimmers in my time and most of the time I am left unsatisfied with how well they work. I have a very course beard and most trimmers tend to clog or just can't hold up for very long. I am pleased to say this trimmer so far does not seem to have those problems. There is also the added benefit of the fact that this trimmer can be used in the shower without worrying about it getting damaged. It comes with three sizes of guide combs, one for hair one for stubble and one for body shaving. I have used the stubble one and am very happy with the durability and the sturdiness of the guide. It does not seem like with will flex and break as easy as some other ones I have used in the past. The trimmer also comes with several different shave heads and from what I can tell so far they all seem to work as intended. Overall this has been a good shaver.

My husband absolutely loves his new groomer

Let me start with, I'm a licensed cosmetologist so I have top of the line tools I use to work with men's hair and faces. While I have knowledge of grooming a mans beard, a full body groomed is certainly more convenient. I gave it about a month to allow my husband to use all of the grooming attachments before asking him how he likes it. He is in love with it for the most part, the only attachment he doesn't love is the foil attachment, he feels it snags more then actually cutting the hair. It could also be he isn't used to electric shavers and there certainly is a learning curve to each one to get the best shave. The battery life is amazing and super convenient having the ability to charge just 1 grooming tool compared to multiple tools. He is attempting to use the foil attachment more, so I certainly think this was a home run.

I have been using the Philips Norelco for more than 3 weeks now and I am liking it a lot. The wet and dry options are really great and gives you the flexibility to use them however you want to. Gives you a lot of options with body, head and face and even a nose trimmer. Overall a good trimmer.

this product is very nice to have. there are a few cons that I will explain after the good. this has many futures. One future I enjoy is that the hair clipping piece can be adjusted for different sizes. there are 3 pieces similar that do different functions. a stubble comb, hair comb and body comb. being able to adjust saves from having 10+ pieces of different sizes. then it has a couple trimmer pieces. one is a full size metal one and the other is a bit smaller and a little more precise. the smaller is used to trim your face with. the full size is used to hair along with the adaptors. and it also has a nose trimmer, a leather pouch and come with a bottle of oil. and then it has a body trimmer piece that looks like a razor head however, it says to not use on the face. the face trimmer does a good job but not completely smooth. so if you need a smooth shave you will need a razor. I let my face hair grow for a few weeks now to try this out as I new I was getting it. it took a few minutes to trim my face. and did not pull any hair at all. this was nice cause I go a week a lot of times and trying to shave is not always fun as my cheaper razor has a trimmer piece but it pulls at my hair and does not work. (and that was from day one of using). and trying to use blades also pulls at my hair. it is wireless, and it supposedly last about an hour. and it supposed to be a 1 to 1 charge ratio. so for every minute you charge it, you get a minute of use out of it up to 60 min. it also is waterproof so you can use it in the shower and rinse it off under water. so for a face trimmer, body trimmer and hair trimmer, it is a nice trimmer. even if you don't mind shaving but not having it smoother. some cons. when shaving your face, your hair flies all over. so careful with your eyes and also know you will have to do some clean up after and take shirt off. the unit will not operate while plugged in. this is something that I prefer. nothing worse then it being dead and you need to trim up and cant. granted again its a 1 to 1 charge ratio so if you need 5 min you just have to wait 5 min and charge it and then you can use it. and again, nothing with it to give a nice smooth shave. for these reasons I give it a 3.5

I have never used a trimmer and just used a razor for my needs.... Got this and tried it out and makes life a lot easier lol. I personally just only use 2 of the trimmers and they work as advertised. I have little experience using others but this does the job fine from my experience.

This is perfect for my needs. I tend to get thick face armor, which means when I need to trim or shave I'm digging up some serious hardware. I'm talking AC Powered shears, no more. This thing powered through a normal thicket of face armor without an issue. No stalling. Just went. I was worried it wouldn't have the power being battery powered, but I shouldn't have been. Didn't even need the turbo setting they had to clean my face. Worked flawless very happy. Its nice they give you a great little bag to store everything in make transport/use and no loss easy. I'm happy with this. It is a perfect trimmer for my needs. Its nice that its shower proof, not that I expect to need it, but the portability is a great thing. I am very happy with this trimmer.

I'll get the one negative out of the way - the instructions do NOT give enough information on how to use each attachment. Not that you won't figure it out, but it would be nice if the instructions were more detailed. The trimmer is very powerful once charged and the charge lasts a good amount of time. It comes with a wide variety of attachments that will accommodate most uses. I have not tried them all, but have used the beard trimmer, standard trimmer, detail trimmer and nose/ear trimmer. There are 2 different attachments that can be used as a beard trimmer depending on what you're trying to accomplish. All of the attachments work really well and do exactly what they should. I was able to trim my beard more exact than with my previous trimmer. Overall a good investment.

This is a pretty good multi groom shaver. Multi-groom, meaning you can get pretty much a full body grooming session with this shaver. Charging took 45 minutes or so before I could use it, although I wish I could have used it while it was charging. Using this shaver has been nice and I must say so far so good, no nicks, and my face is pretty smooth. I like that I can use it in the shower if I choose to, however, I prefer shaving standing at the sink in front of the mirror. It also comes with a nice leather pouch to carry all of the attachments, shaver, and power cord in. It also comes with a little bottle of oil to keep the blades lubricated. No issues with this shaver and I would recommend it for guys looking for that perfect shave, close shave, or for grooming other areas.

To start with, I will admit that I have not yet (although I am certain I will, in due time) tested out all of the attachments. Taking into consideration I had just gotten a haircut a few days before the trimmer arrived, I am, thus, unable to provide any information on the hair comb or stubble comb. As for the body comb, I just haven't tried it yet...but, again, I will. Moving onto what has been tested............... The first attachment I tested (as strange as this might sound) was the nose/ear hair trimmer. In the past, I've tried several nose and/or ear hair trimmers, and I've been seriously disappointed with each, and every, one of them. In short, they have never worked as claimed. In the case of the nose/ear hair attachment for the Philips Norelco Multigroom 7400, it was the exact opposite. It easily, and near-perfectly cleaned up the ear hair (I'm 48, so, yes, I do get ear hair). Off to a great start...but then onto the more-problematic nose hair. The result...once again, it cleaned everything up as near-perfect as it could be without going back to the scissors I'd previously used. On a 1-10 scale, with "10" equating to scissors, I'd rate it 8-9. Moving to the detail trimmer attachment, this I tested by cleaning up the edges of my hair, as well as my side-burn. On the same 1-10 scale, it's at least a 9, and possibly a 10. It left a super-clean line, exactly as it should. Lastly, I, along with my wife, tested the bodygroom shaver attachment. This, depending on whether used "wet" or "dry" created different results. My wife tested it first, in the shower (ie. "wet"), when shaving her legs. Unfortunately, the results were not as good when compared against a traditional disposable razor, which is what she normally uses. Based on her growth-rate for her leg hair, she typically shaves once every 7 days. Using the bodygroom shaver attachment, the amount of stubble it left would equate to approximately 1-2 days growth. On the 1-10 scale, I'm estimating approximately a 4-5. Being a former competitive swimmer, I'm not exactly a "stranger" to shaving my body hair, and so, in order to get an idea of its "dry" shaving capabilities, I shaved the back of my lower legs...and the results were quite different, as it left my legs almost equal to that achieved by a traditional disposable razor. On the same 1-10 scale, I'd give it an 8-9. OVERALL IMPRESSIONS (based solely on the attachments used): I'm impressed with the charging time. A 1-hour charge, to achieve 60 minutes of use, isn't exactly the greatest, but, considering what it is, and the small battery I'm certain it contains, I'm very happy with the charge-to-use ratio. The fact that it's "shower proof" is one of its best features. Most trimmers, including most cordless trimmers, are "dry-use only", so the fact that it can be used while taking a shower is extremely important. While there's no way I can consider the included bag as "premium" (I'm not even certain it's actual leather...more likely to be man-made), the fact that a bag is included, added to the fact that it's large enough for the entire trimmer kit, my electric toothbrush case, a full-size tube of toothpaste, and my electric razor, that makes up for the points lost in Philips claim of a "premium leather" bag. Overall, on the same 1-10 scale, I'd give it an 8. It contains more attachments than most other trimmer kits on the market, and at a competitive price. The included bag (even if it's not "premium leather") is a nice extra touch...and its size is a great bonus. Would I recommend this? That depends. If you're only looking to use this in one location, such as at home, then, unfortunately, my answer would have to be "no", I would not recommend this trimmer kit. There are plenty of corded trimmers, including those made by Philips, that include a fairly equal number of attachments, for a considerably lower cost. However, if you need a trimmer that you will travel with (even if only occasionally), are concerned about the weight (the Multigroom 7400 kit is pretty lightweight), want a cordless/rechargeable trimmer and/or want a trimmer that you can use in the shower, then my answer would be "yes", as this will be one of your best choices...and, quite possibly, your best choice. Yes, there are more expansive brands, but that doesn't make them better. There are also less expansive units, but that could leave question to its quality...and Philips has been known, for many years, as a company that manufacturers quality products. Do your own research, and you should come to a similar, if not the same, conclusion. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at a reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or somewhere in-between, is an honest review, and the price paid played no part in my review.

Good for the average trim job

Let me preface this by saying I don't actually have to shave everyday. I say that not because I choose to grow a beard, as is the custom these days, but as someone who doesn't have budding new growth overtaking my desired shaved areas in an overwhelming way. I could shave, but I could also get away with not shaving for a couple of days. That being said, I still view myself as the perfect case for a product like this. It comes across as a product for the person with light duty shaving needs desiring a clean look - that's me. The first thing I noticed about the Multigroom was the quality of the device, the attachments, and the accessories. They did an admirable job in this area. Each item, even the case, is of good quality, making the user feel confident in the quality and dependability of the product before even using it. The Multigroom comes with a handful of guards for cutting and trimming facial and body hair. Each guard has an emblem giving the user a feel for it's intended purpose - facial, body, etc. Each guard, when attached, can be adjusted using a height adjustment system built onto the Multigroom. All work as intended, but the most important guard was very different than any I have used. The 0 or 1 guard which is used for the shortest hair, sits somewhat suspended in air rather than covering the blades. It made me feel tentative. I have used all kinds of electric trimmers - Wahl, Andis, Oster, etc. Never encountered a guard like that one. Other than that, every other guard and attachment worked as intended. My biggest test when using a multifunctional trimmer like the Multigroom is the close shave attachment. Will it cause irritation or bumping? Some devices have this issue, even new. I must say, the Multigroom passes this test. I think I may have gotten a single bump during usage. This brings me to one of my biggest recommendations though... Ditch the Turbo button. I wouldn't even take a chance shaving my face without the Turbo button on. Just make the default speed the Turbo speed. Why? There is no advantage to a slower clipper or razor. I had an Andis Styline Pro II that was the absolute best trimmer I have ever used - paid a penny for it too. It was extremely quiet, but had one of the fastest, smoothest blades ever. Turbo should be the speed, period. I tried the Multigroom in the shower, and without using Turbo, you can just forget it, and even with Turbo on, the results are a little less than what's desired. I could be a special case, but I just didn't experience consistent results. The device seemed to perform well, but the finish product just didn't measure up. As far as whether device stands up to water - no doubt. It's build quality is unquestioned. It looks the part, and has stood up to showers like a champ. Bottom line: It's a good jack of all trades, but master of none. I tried not to, but I had to use this device in conjunction with another trimmer on quite a few occasions.

My current Phillips Norelco trimmer, which I've had for a lot of years and was fairly inexpensive, has done me wonders. I have dropped it a bunch of times and even though the bigger shaving head is broken, the adjustable comb keeps it together when attached over it so it's still going strong for the most part. Based on this product alone plus a few others in the past I know Phillips means reliable quality. But I know it's outdated and won't last forever, the battery life is shorter than what it used to be (of course) and shaving has become uneven due to wear. I was looking for an upgrade and fortunately this was offered in exchange for a review. This groomer goes above and beyond - while a lot of products' primary focus is facial hair while being just capable enough to also be used on hair on your head or body, this product has the individual tools to do face, hair and body equally as good as if they were separate products. This is mainly because its ability to swap out the heads to use exactly the right tool for the job so you are never using something less efficient. It has the self sharpening steel blades you find on traditional head hair clippers to use on head and face, your usual detail trimmer for precise spots and a separate bodygroom foil shaver for your body. They even throw in a micro-trimmer head for ears, nose or for even more precise areas. On top of this, included are separate combs that attach over the steel head for head hair, facial hair (they call it a "stubble comb") and an additional body hair one that offers another choice of use (or to be used specifically for "delicate" or groin area). The three combs are marked with a picture so you don't forget which is for what which is nice and both the hair and facial combs have their own different length range each. Because of all this, you are never suffering for not having the exact tool for wherever you need. To make it even better the lithium-ion battery lasts 60 long minutes which gives you plenty of time to do what you need. If you prefer to be quicker and more efficient, the fact that it's water/shower proof is the icing on the cake. I love the ability to safely clean the product under running water as it's just more convenient. Despite all this, I do personally have a couple of issues. But first my positive experience with each tool: The foil bodygroom shaver is awesome (note: not for facial or neck hair, regardless of how it looks. Getting a clean shave like that of a foil or flexhead electric razor is not feasible with this product.) The detail shaver and the micro-trimmer are as good as any I ever used. The head and beard combs go by mm so it's great for fading and doing relatively short hair styles. My wife cuts my hair using an actual plug-in electric steel head trimmer but I had her try this. She said it worked even better and between the detail trimmer and hair comb she was able to get great fades that used to take the combination of my old Norelco facial groomer and the steel head trimmer which still wasn't perfect. But then there's the stubble (facial) comb. This one is seemingly useless to me because it has no guard on the comb. Both the other combs have guards - the body one is completely closed and the hair one has those standard backward facing spikes. I never had a facial groomer that didn't have some kind of variation of these two. Because of this, it caused me to cut into my (short) beard as I was trying to go over my jawline and get my sideburns. Your face is anything but flat yet if you happen to angle your hand just a bit, because the comb is just adjacent to the blades with no protection, it seems entirely too easy to completely mess up whatever you are doing. Regardless if it's just for stubble or not, small guards would have been nice. Fortunately the comb for the hair works perfectly fine for facial hair but I don't see myself using the stubble comb ever. Maybe it's just me and I'm missing something now or maybe down the line I will find a use. My other much bigger issue is this doesn't come with a stand to hold the trimmer and heads. Any trimmer I ever got before, including Norelco, had a nice condensed stand to hold the trimmer and all the tools. Now it does come with a real nice leather bag which is great for travel - key word "travel" - but I have very limited counter space and having a storage bag sitting there taking up that much more room is not convenient at all. I saw a similar model that looked nearly the same that DID come with a complete stand so not sure what that's about. Currently I'm using the long sturdy plastic packaging the attachments came in from the box to hold everything although I just have the trimmer laying on the side of the counter. It will suffice for now but it's still a disappointment for sure.

The Phillips Norelco Multigroom 7400 with bodytrimmer is meant to serve as "total body" grooming device. Accordingly, seven (7) grooming attchments are provided to facilitate proper trimming and shaving of all major body areas including nose, face, hair and below the neck. Each attachment was easily affixed to the Norelco base by twisting the attachment into place. The Norelco feels solid in the hand with a nice weight and proper grip which allowed me to use it confidently both in and out of the shower. The overall shaving performance was very good with powerful shaving, supplemented by the "turbo boost", effect. After I initially fully charged the shaver I was able to obtain, over a number sessions,a total of about one (1) hour of total shave time. The build quality, durability, and performance of this shaving system was remarkable and is a vast improvement on/over the multigroomers I have owned in the past.

I have had this trimmer for a week now and I love it. I am not a very hairy guy so the adjustable beard trimmers don't get any use at my house but I do like to shave the rest of my body hair in the shower. I was very nervous about taking this in the shower with me to shave. Wow, was I impressed. I have been using cheap disposable shavers in the past but no more. The attachment that has trimmers on both sides and a shaver in the middle is awesome. It shaves it short and them shaves it skin close all in one swipe. Not as close as a straight razor but extremely close to what a razor can do. I love this thing! I also used the nose hair attachment which was very easy to use. The attachments are very easy to swap out and dry from being in the shower. Used it for about 45 minutes so far and still on the first charge. If you are on the fence with a trimmer, get this one!

I love this thing! It does it all and even works in the shower. It is replacing a very old trimmer as well as nose trimmer all in one device. The guide combs are a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of them, they work great. I use them for my goatee and with so many increments, I get it the exact length that I want. I love all the attachments that it comes with. The nose trimmer attachment works better than the nose trimmer I had ever did. I use the precision trimmer on my side burns, and the body shaver is perfect for using on my face if I need a quick freshen up. I don't use the body shaver on my body, but if I have a 5 o'clock shadow, it is perfect for a quick shave. All in all, this is the perfect all-in-one trimmer. It has everything a man could want. It is well built and the motor is strong. You can't go wrong this.
