My wife and son love this movie. My wife probably more so since she has signed artwork hanging in our home. The story is great and so is the animation. for those not familiar with the 1988 fantasy film, it tells the story of the two young daughters (Satsuki and Mei) of a professor and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan Go get a copy, you will love a classic Studio Ghibli.

Great movie at a phenomenal price! My whole family loves the movies of studio Ghibli. (Excuse my atrocious spelling). This is probably my favorite and most likely my youngest daughter 's favorite also. She loves the catbus best. It's is a little strange explaining some of the cultural differences to younger kids, but it's totally worth it for the cinematic experience. Miyazaki is a genius!

This is a wonderfully whimsical story of two young girls whose mother is in the hospital and friendly magical creatures that inhabit the forest outside the house they live in. Heartwarming and beautifully illustrated, it is a step above the usual American and Japanese animated fare. My eleven year old daughter loves it, but it is well done enough to be engrossing for adults also.

Highly recommend this to movie to anyone, families, children, adults. Beautiful hand drawn animation, a story that encourages everyone to not lose their imagination, and encourage those around us to maintain that spirit of wonder. You can't go wrong with this film.

Totoro is an story full of heart and joy. It's about the woodland spirits who befriend and help two young girls after them move to the country with their father while their mother is sick in hospital. This was my family's introduction to Miazaki and Studio Gibili. We've gone on to enjoy Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away since then. Wonderful introduction into a magical world.

Bringing back a classic in blu-ray is an absolute treat. Even though there are new standards out there for blu-ray such as HDR (Which divides into four different kinds its a total mess), its just amazing how well this simple anime looked so good in a higher resolution. I definitely would recommend picking this up if you like anime, it is a classic you must have.

It’s a great movie animation. I love the story and quality of the drawing. Recommend for anyone of all ages. The characters in the animation were cute. I ended up with getting more of the movie made by the same animator who created these Totoro movie.

Great movie. SteelBook edition makes it even better. The colors are so much brighter, the frame rate has doubled, and the story has become a touch more endearing. If you don't have the steelbook edition and just a Blu-Ray you need to rush out and get the step proof box.

I remember getting My Neighbor Totoro from the video store many years ago and loving it so much. It's so adventurous, humorous, and, at times, saddening, but it's a wonderful film that I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys Studio Ghibli films (I doubt anyone who does enjoy Ghibli films hasn't already seen it) or those that have children that like animated films. I do recall watching a second version years ago which was redubbed by Dakota and Elle Fanning among other new voices, and this is that very version. I much prefer the original English dub, as I take a liking to more of the original script, such as "dust bunnies" over "soot sprites." I noticed many differences in the script, actually. It's still a wonderful movie to watch!

Just another great film by the studio ghibli. This film is following a tale about a grim reaper for children. It gets confusing especially i myself still cant figure out the ending for the life of me. If your a fan of miyazaki and havent seen it you should.

This movie released 26 years ago, yet the animation still holds up as beautiful. The voice acting is top notch even for being dubbed. The movie sparks a sense of adventure in you in a way that only Studio Ghibli can achieve. Plots a bit predictable and lacks much substance compared to today's standards. Yet i'd rate this higher then 80% of the animated junk that is releasing nowadays.

An all-time anime classic from Japan's beloved veteran animator Hayao Miyazaki. Beautiful artwork and creative story-telling that captures and moves one's heart about everyday life's moments and struggles, and teaches us/ shows us about human frailties and how we find meaning through the "little blessings" we receive in this canvas called - "Life".

THIS MOVIE WAS DIRECTED BY THE SAME GUY WHO DIRECTED "POYNO" WHICH KEPT THE GRAND KIDS INTRANCED FOR HOURS . GREAT 2 DISC SET DVD CARTOON , WHILE NOT AS GREAT OF ANIMATION AS TYPICAL DISNEY MOVIE , IT DIDN'T SEAM TO BOTHER THE KIDS, WE ARE ON THE 3RD TIME WATCHING IT, AND HAS A GOOD STORY FOR ADULTS TO FOLLOW ALONG WITH AND NOT BE TO BOARD. I TOTALLY RECOMEND THIS MOVIE !!

I love Totoro. Its a great movie if you haven't seen it you gotta check it out. its a children's movie but i think everyone can enjoy the magic of it all. There was a very noticeable difference in the image quality between the dvd and blu ray versions. i was really impressed at how much better the blu ray version was.

This beautifully animated movie was a favorite of my grown kids when they were little. I gave the DVD enhanced version as stocking stuffers to replace the old VHS model. They were both so happy to see it again in the new format. This sweet story appeals to all ages and you will fall in love with the characters. A classic keepsake!

Lovely film and different from many western animated films in that there's no bad guy here. This is a charming story about life and the innocence involved in experiencing both the ups and downs that come our way. A sweet film, very positive, imaginative, and cute with the heavy elements being thoughtfully delivered.

The first movie I saw by Hayao Miyazaki was .. Spirited Away... I was blown away by that movie. I've been purchasing other movies that he has made and none of his movies are bad. You can't help but feel good after this movie...your kids will love it........great song...great animation.....the story and characters are great

I am so glad I finally got to see this classic film! I've heard so much about this film over the years (since I started learning Japanese many years ago, actually), and I finally saw this movie a couple years ago. It's a fun movie, and anyone who appreciates Japanese culture should see this film at least once!

Miyazaki does it again, while this may be one of his earlier works, I never had a chance to watch it. Being Anime month, I picked this up for less than $13, and I gotta say, this movie is more kid friendly compared to other films but still very unique, making it great to show to children and adults alike.

This is a lovely story of two girls coming to terms with a new environment and a sick mother by meeting (and possibly imagining) a rich cast of delightful forest spirits. If you aren't charmed and uplifted by this movie, you have no feelings. It literally is one of the greatest works of animated art ever produced. Disney has released a solid transfer for this BluRay and the audio mixes are very good. However, they redid the English dub a couple years back and now it's kind of "meh. The original Japanese dialogue is included, and I suggest listening to that with subtitles enabled to get the proper emotional resonance.
