The Nacon - Revolution 5 Pro Wireless Controller with Hall Effect Technology and Remappable Buttons for PS5, PS4 and PC is a full-featured pro controller. Note: Please keep in mind that this review is based on using it on a Playstation 4 only. Set up was simple but the lack of an in-depth instruction booklet made it take a little longer than it should have. The controller has several swappable attachments for analog sticks, D-pad, and internal weights to adjust the weight and feel of the controller, and a carrying case. The weight of the controller without internal weights feels nearly as heavy as an official PS controller. It doesn't feel light weight or cheap. Connected well with my PS4, no connection issues, and the battery life was impressive. Triggers can be customized, which is great. Default D-Pad is an 8-way circle pad but I swapped it for the 4-way D-pad and it felt much better. 8-way didn’t feel as responsive. Buttons feel responsive, clicky, and even better than an official PS controller. The grips feel great. I have small hands, and the controller felt bulkier than a standard PS controller. I got used to the size quickly but it would be even better suited for someone with bigger hands, I would think. The USB-C Charging cord is thick and heavy so it didn’t feel comfortable to use while playing, almost making the controller feel too heavy. This cord can be used to play with the controller wired to the console. Because the USB-C port is so deep in the controller, it did not fit my own USB-C cable. I had to use the heavy long cable the controller came with. It can connect to bluetooth headphones - which is really cool. Also, the Hall effect Technology appears to eliminate any concerns over eventual drifting problems. The controller cannot power on the PS4 or PS5, unlike a standard/original controller from Sony, and it will not ‘rumble’ when used with the PS5. All-in-all it’s a great, full-featured, pro controller, best suited for competitive play and esports. Pro and serious gamers should definitely consider the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro.

I recently got my hands on the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro Wireless Controller, and let me tell you, it's like holding a piece of the future. Seriously! I've spent a good amount of time with it, and I'm here to spill the beans on everything you need to know before you decide to add it to your gaming arsenal. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this one! As soon as you unbox it, the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro impresses you with its sleek and professional appearance. The matte black finish adds a touch of premium feel, while the ergonomic design ensures a snug fit in your hands. It's like it was made specifically for those marathon gaming sessions! And don't worry about sweaty palms; the textured grips have got you covered. Alright, let's dive into the wireless aspect. Lag? Ugh, no thanks! This controller comes with Hall Effect technology for super-precise, lag-free gaming. And guess what? It was a piece of cake to pair it with my PS5. One of the coolest things about it is the remappable buttons. It's a total game-changer, especially if you're someone who loves having control over your gaming experience. You can customize the controller to fit your play style, which is awesome for both casual and hardcore gamers. The button clicks are satisfying, and the triggers feel just right – not too loose, not too stiff. The sticks are responsive, and the additional weights allow you to adjust the balance to your liking. It's these little details that make a big difference in gameplay. We've all been there, deep into a gaming session, and then suddenly, the controller dies. But let me tell you about the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro - it's a pleasant surprise! The battery life is seriously impressive. I've gone for hours without needing to recharge. And when you do need to juice up, it's quick and easy, no hassle. Oh, and Nacon even throws in some cool extras like a sturdy carrying case - perfect for those who are always on the move. Plus, the software for customization is pretty straightforward. It might take a little getting used to, but once you do, it's smooth sailing. Pros: Ergonomic and premium build quality Excellent wireless connectivity Highly customizable Great button feel and response Impressive battery life Useful extras like a carrying case Cons: Might take some time to get used to the customization software Premium build means it’s a bit on the heavier side The Verdict Overall, the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro Wireless Controller is an amazing addition to my PS5 experience. Whether you're a casual gamer or someone who's really into gaming, this controller is a great addition to your setup. It brings together style, performance, and customization that can truly elevate your gaming experience.

Premium controller hurt by odd design choices

The Nacon Revolution Pro 5 is near controller greatness, let down by some incredibly odd extra button locations. The ability to adjust the weight to match your style, along with different control stick tops, and a replaceable D pad make this beast extremely customizable to match your style and preferences. The battery life seems superb, (plus the weight and ergonomics work well for my slightly larger than average hands, with a huge caveat) multiple hours (3ish?) played on FH5 straight without losing more than 1 bar of battery life, easily shows that the 10+ hours that the manufacturer quotes as run time, should be easily attainable. The switch on the back allows changing from PS4/PS5/PC modes on the fly, and while in PS4 or PS5 mode, you can load up the Windows app and further customize your settings. On top of all this, you get a great case that houses the controller, the RF USB connector, the accessory box, plus the included USB cable and cleaning cloth. BUT all of this is let down by the location of the lower S buttons. Right where I grip the controller is the S3-S4 buttons. I cannot hold the thing correctly without pressing those buttons accidentally while making normal minor adjustments. I just feel like MANY users with average to large hands will have a heck of a time using any of the extra buttons mapped, which then seems like a waste in getting a premium controller…

I really wanted to love this controller. The moment I opened the box, I was in awe. It looks beautiful and really well made. The feeling and fit in your hand is great, especially if you are used to the Playstation controller, though it is significantly heavier. The heft and the fact that the left joystick and the Dpad are switched compared to the Sony controller, I was worried that my hands will get fatigued easily. But, that turned out to be a non-issue, the joystick position just immediately felt natural. And maybe its just my way of holding the controller with my elbow or sometimes the back of my wrist resting on my legs that I forgot about the weight pretty quickly. All the button clicks/presses feel satisfactory and leave you in no doubt that your input was registered. Now lets come to the selling point of this - the hall effect joysticks. The feel so light to move around and so precise that you can immediately feel the difference in game. It almost gives the illusion that your frame rate has gone up, because your character feels a lot more nimble. The main benefit of these though is that over time you should not see any joystick drift - when even at center position it keeps registering a small nudge in some direction. This is because the traditional joysticks have parts that rub against each other to register movement, however there is no such moving parts in these and thus they should last significantly longer. Overall I was thoroughly enjoying my experience with these, till it started running into low battery. I realized that on screen (in PS4 at least) you can't see your battery percentage like you can with Sony's controller. So, how do you find how much battery is left? Well when you turn on the controller a few off white LEDs light up for a brief moment (just below the trackpad) to tell you how much battery is remaining. Alright, not a big deal. But here's the kicker, during these times of low battery I started noticing that it would not always register my right (R2) trigger. This was not consistent and really made me doubt my own sanity. Then I switched out to my old controller and voila - it works. I charged up the controller and put it out of my mind. Till a week goes by and I have to charge it again, again at low battery the triggers would behave erratically. I love it so much that I am still using it, but every time the battery depletes I immediately charge it to avoid this "paranormal" activity. I am truly torn, I don't want to give it up, but I am at my wit's end on how to avoid this issue.

The Nacon Revolution 5 pro wireless controller is turly a work of art. I am not sure what a person would want a controller to do, that this one doesn't. The Nacon comes packaged very well. When you open it up, you find the controller, USB cord and a box of accessories. The accessory box was really intriguing to me since I havn't had a new controller anything like this one before. When you take it all out of its nice storage case, you find that this controller has programmible buttons everywhere. Not only are there multiple buttons that you can taylor to your game, but there is a D-pad built into the top of the controller. If you want to be immersed in sound you can even bluetooth your favorite earbuds to the controller to play inside the sound. Inside that little box that came with the controller are different thumbstick heads that let you change the size and the feel of the stick. There are also weights in the box that can be added to the controller to enhance the feel. Maybe the best part of the Nacon controller is the magnetic sensors that eliminate stick drift, which tends to be a problem on cheaper controllers. Like I said, I don't know how I can cover everything that this controller has to offer, but trust me, it can do a lot. There is a dedicated app that you use to program each button, there are trigger blockers to adjust trigger pull for different games, there are remappable shortcuts and so much more. This controller is also compatible with multiple gaming systems including PS4, PS5 and PC. Up your game with this new hightech controller.
