The dual bass and soundbar blows away Sony, Samung and Sonos! For the money, there is no reason to choose anything else.
I live in an apartment. I have recieved two [2] complaints that my downstairs neighbor stated the pictures on his wall were shaking and vibrating. Guess what? That is a true statement but deny, deny, deny. This is a crazy sound system and you cannot go wrong getting this. The wifi connection to the bass modules makes it easy to set up without wires running all over the place. You will be leaving a 5 star review like me. Go for it!

After visiting my local store and being told that Sony and then Samsung would be my best two options, I just didn't feel comfortable settling for only what they had access to in the store as the "best options". So after more online research, I decided to just go blindly into the Nakamichi Elite 7.2. WOW. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! When I was in the Store I tested the Sony with the Spiderman sample. The surround expert was convinced this Sony would be the best solution for me. So when I got the Nakamichi setup, I went right to Spiderman to compare and it blew that Sony away. The clarity in detail of where the sound was coming from, even in a large room, was evident immediately. The BASS is the real star and I would advise just adjusting it to the level that's right for your setup and listening preferences, but out the box it all was amazing.
So I had some small issue because my TV doesn't have the ARC technology (older PRO-151 Pioneer Elite) and I wanted to make sure I had it all setup correctly and this is where Nakamichi will separate themselves from all other brands. You truly get a personal customer service experience that allows you to go back and forth with your questions and timely is an understatement on how quick they will respond once you open up communication with a rep via email(my choice of communication with them). They were EXTREMELY helpful and you feel you have your own personal tech to answer any questions regarding the system.
I know it's hard to spend this much money without a demo, but also remember you rarely get a true demo in a store that mimics your home setup. If you want the most BOOM for your buck and the level of service you would expect from a company in maybe 1950 (not huge call centers following scripted responses in 2018), then do yourself and your movie viewing experience a favor a buy Nakamichi. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

I want to preface this review by stating that this is the 3rd high end sound system I have owned in the past 3 years. Below is a list of my journey to the perfect sound system when you want great sound, but don't want to run wires everywhere:
1. Yahama YSP-2500 107W Sound Projector with wireless Subwoofer
2. Samsung HW-K850 350W soundbar with wireless Subwoofer
3. Nakamichi Shockwafe Elite 7.2 800W sound system with Dual wireless Subwoofers
The Yamaha delivered great sound, but did not support 4K HDR passthrough. The Samsung sounded OK, but did not support switching inputs using direct commands (i.e. switch to HDMI 1 or HDMI 2). This caused me more frustration than I would have ever thought - the unit never came on to the right input. Using ARC did not fix the issue - there was an issue with sound delays and I could never get the lips synced with the sound.
I found the Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.2 Elite while searching for an answer to my issues with the Samsung. The more I read and researched, the more impressed I was, and finally I ordered it. It arrived and took only minutes to set up - and then I was amazed!
The depth of sound with the dual subwoofers AND the rear speakers is incredible. The subs do need an outlet, but the rear speakers connect to the subs, so you don't need to run extra wires for them. No matter what I listen to, I continue to be amazed at the sound - both in clarity, power, and depth.
The Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.2 Elite is clearly superior in every way to my previous soundbars - so much so that I find it hard to refer to the Nakamichi as a soundbar - I really need to call it a sound system.

I was looking around for a soundbar for my new living room and with all the options out there, the Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.2 and 9.2 systems stood out because of the amount of features they come with at their price points as compared to the rest (mainly simulated surround systems and more expensive). Initially, I wasn’t really sure what to expect because I have never listened to 2 subwoofers before. I also couldn’t find any demos available at any of the Bestbuy stores near me. Did a little research and read from some articles online that 2 subwoofers do make a big difference just like how Nakamichi has marketed them. Decided to go with the 7.2. After hooking it up which took me less than 30 minutes, I was instantly blown away. The bass is super powerful. No matter where I sit in my living room, the bass seems to come from everywhere around and underneath me which definitely adds to the experience. But that’s not all, this system’s surround sound is equally impressive. Very clear and realistic. Very good performance for the money.

You want Home theater sound at home for a great price! I researched for a few months was looking for a Home theater system to compliment my Vizio UHD LED TV and my Xbox One S. The Shockwafe Elite makes the video games sound great. Played DVD, Blu-ray and 4k movies the surround sound really works especially in dts , dtsx formats, you hear all the action scenes all around. The two wireless subwoofers make a difference as the bass encompasses you when you watch movies. I recommend watching John Wick/Star Wars Force Awakens/Jurassic Park on blu ray or 4k to enjoy the Home theater sound. The Nakamichi Shockwafe Elite was the perfect system for my size living room (19x19) , you can adjust the setting of room size right on the remote .It also has Bluetooth and music sound great. Ease of setup when you follow instructions and web tour tutorial. I highly recommend the Nakamichi Shockwafe Elite for price , quality, value if you are looking for a home theater system not to expensive, not a lot of wires to run except surround speakers to wireless subwoofer. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase of the Nakamichi Shockwafe Elite 7.2!

I'll keep it simple. This is by far the best soundbar systerm you can buy and it is unbelievably affordable. I tried Samsung high end and the Sony ST5000 and this one blows them away! Don't make a mistake and get this if your buying one. Heads up Best Buy, you should carry in store ASAP!

Dual sub on this soundbar is amazing. I upgraded from a Samsung Soundbar when i purchased a LG C8 OLED TV. I can feel every gun shot and explosion from my seat. Comes with excellent and easy to understand instruction plus the company provide a amazing customer support if there are any questions. highly recommended! I'm so glad i chose this over the LG and Sonos soundbars.

Nakamichi is the 1st and only company that supports all of my questions. I did not think there is such a company like that still existing.
Moreover, the reason I voted 5 stars is the product quality and function. After along time exhausted in dealing with wiring for the other 5.1 sound system all over my living room, now I can clean them up. Make my house as simple as an model houses in magazines. Also, all of the sound format like DTS, Dolby Plus, and a future promising Dolby Atmos give my not a single worry about the supportive capabilities of our Nakamichi sound system.
For less than $800 Nakimichi 7.2 is my best choice for the living room wireless sound system purpose. And also it is the cheapest price I've found after a long time research.

...and not your wallet! After many weeks of research I gave this system a try and haven't looked back since. I was a former Yamaha and Bose fan for the last 30 years. Tuned and ready to go, right out of the box! More bass than I'll ever need.

Been researching sound bars for a few months. Looked at Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio offerings and came across Nakamichi. From a specs point of view, this unit offers much more for the same price, 7 discrete true surround channels, dual subwoofers, rear speakers and plenty HDMI inputs. Took a chance and got it in about 5 days. Setup was pretty straight forward. Instructions easy to follow. The best part is the sound. The dual subs hit hard on music, movies and gaming. My living room is medium sized and it fills the room perfectly with surround all around me. Cannot imagine what the 9.2 will sound like. Maybe the best electronics purchase I have ever made.

I have a Vizio 5.1 channel soundbar and came across the Nakamichi 7.2 with dual subwoofers. Always been a bass person and took the risk to order one online. Setup was quite easy. Took less than 30 minutes. Amazon Fire tv 4k to soundbar and arc from soundbar to arc of my TV. I was expecting some crazy bass with two 8 inch subs but got something completely different. Right out of the box, the dual subs transform my entire entertainment experience. Something that is really difficult to describe. The music, movies and content all sounded so much better when bass is oozing all around you. I have to hear it again and again just to make sure I was not fooling myself. I now think of subwoofers a little differently. The bass is crisp, smooth, responsive, powerful and accurate vs my single sub system, literally night and day. I did play with the placements of the subs quite a bit and it works best by placing them in the middle of the room, half way between the couch and my tv. It beats going to the movies hands down. Absolutley one of the best investments I have made. Far exceeded my expectations.

I was looking for a Dolby atmos surround sound system but it was going to be expensive and not easy to place all these speakers, I found nakamichi shockwafe elite the best alternative and for a much better price and I was able to get it even more cheaper than I tought, the system is very loud and clear and the dual subwoofers are the best option to get a full home theater experience at home, the dts-x is very similar to Dolby atmos. I love nakamichi shockwafe elite.

The equipment came well boxed and it was easy to setup. Just like with anything new it takes a little time of playing around with the equipment to get the sound right. I am pleased with my purchase but honestly I should have went and spent a little more money and got the 1000 watt system that they offer. I have a good size family room and the sound from the sound bar and subs fill the room nicely!

I had a hard time choosing between the Nakamichi and the Sony HTZ9F. Both have great sound quality, but in order for the Sony to match anything near what the Nakamichi puts out, you have to get the satellite speakers with it, which cost an additional $300. At that point your paying $1,100 for the Sony system and it still just doesn't have the same punch as the Nakimichi with the dual subs.
As far as the performance goes in the Nakimichi, it makes watching films an experience. I believe sound is half of the movie watching experience, so to me having a nice sound system is essential. The Nakamichi completes the experience. It's not the strongest contender when playing music. Although it sounds good, and gets plenty loud, I like to walk around the room and the Nakamichi performs best when situated right in front of it. The satellite speakers also work better for movies than music as they are more designed for surround sounds effects rather than blasting music. But the whole system gets loud so if that's your thing, you'll have no issues blasting the volume and listening contently while you relax in another room. This thing is a killer system for the price point. I have not had any issues yet, but the Nakamichi customer service seems to be superb enough that if I have any issues with my unit, Nakamichi will make it right.

Sounds are crisp and clear. Had an initial left sub woofer issue, not able to update the firmware. But the Nakamichi team took care of it and sent me a replacement motherboard for the left subwoofer. So far no issues and going good.

This soundbar system is the best on the market. The capabilities it provides at this cost are really impressive. I’ve also found the company to provide excellent documentation and support. The fact that it is still receiving updates and enhancements is proof that they stand behind their product.
