This unit is very easy to set up and use. In my experience it is providing faster service in a non-5G, poor reception area relative to various cell phones (newest top of the line iPhone and Pixel). The ethernet port can also be convenient. In my case enabling this device to stand in for an abysmal 4Mbps (not a typo) landline internet service, and providing 4-5 times the speed to a home mesh wifi network. Note that AT&T told me this device can only be used with a prepaid plan, so it is separate from my other AT&T accounts. Inconvenient, but it works. I have observed it drop service due to overheating when I left it in the sunny window, hoping to get faster speeds from that one extra bar. It soon recovered, and in the end my cleverness was unnecessary because the device provided similar speeds either way. Bottom Line: although a little pricey, if this device fits your internet needs than its performance seems to indicate it is a worthwhile investment.

Device works well but AT&T service is not great

I love the Nighthawk but not the AT&T internet service. We live in a rural area that has no fiberoptic or other traditional internet service. A neighbor told us an AT&T mobile hotspot works great because we are close to an AT&T tower. So I purchased the Nighthawk M6 Pro and an AT&T mobile hotspot plan. The Nighthawk is easy to set up and easy to use. I also like that I can take it with me if I go on a trip or sit out on our boat dock to work. My only complaint with the device is that the range is not great inside our house so we had to add an Orbi Mesh Wifi system to expand the range. I have a lot of complaints about the AT&T mobile plan. They continually throttle the data which makes it extremely slow, sometimes so slow that we cannot connect to anything. When I purchased this device, Starlink was not available in our area. Now that Starlink is available, it may be a better option and we are considering changing.

This product is way better than my old Nighthawk MR1100 which was outdated. I think it has better signal, speed and range than the old mobile hotspot router. I think it is very easy to connect other devices to it and manage.

Solid device for up to 2 years. Still rating it 5 stars, but my device has started to overheat and shut off more frequently. Every 8 hours at the moment. Used to take weeks before that happens. Performance wise its a very impressive device. Living in the countryside its either this or starlink. We stream a lot and usually get little to no buffering.

I've owned an older version of this mobile hotspot and it was pretty decent. The Nighthawk M6 is quite a step up from older versions. I used it for about 6 to 8 months until I got fiber optic internet to my property. This unit was easy to set up and the menu was easy to understand and navigate. It worked flawlessly during the time I was using it. For reference, I used it at a cabin in North Arkansas and it got 3 of 5 bars of broadband signal in a mountainous area although the cabin is on a ridge so that helped.

This is my first hotspot, but it's a scorcher. It does take a while to complete a cold boot and occasionally needs a reboot when the cell signal drops, but that's rare and it works stunningly well otherwise. It's easy to configure and provides a solid, fast signal to my wifi router that's much more solid than other carrier broadband solutions.

Being able to take my office on the road is a great investment. No longer worried about finding coffee shops or public places that have the speed I need to be productive. The ability to host multiple users means I can have meetings on the fly with no worry about everyone getting connected.

Compact but fully functional Cellular router

I got this in place of a Dataremote CDS-9010 for a remote telemetry project. For some reason, AT&T decided to lock the Dataremote devices entirely: they cannot be accessed by end users, even after factory defaulting. Rather than fight with them, I picked this up as I knew it would be completely open and fully configurable. It has a touchscreen interface which is nice for initial IP configuration and checking cellular status at a glance. It comes with the network port disabled, but this can easily be enabled through the GUI. Once it is, it can be used as a cellular modem for any firewall with 2 WAN ports, for loan balancing or simple failover. If you just need a wifi bridge to get devices on the internet, then it's even easier: just slap an AT&T sim card in, activate it, and join the network. The fact that it has a built-in battery is very nice, especially for remote deployments with shaky power. Keep in mind that charging the battery does generate heat, so these should be kept in conditioned or at least actively ventilated spaces. I have tested cellular performance and it is good, though that will mostly depend on the location and signal strength. I have this deployed in a remote area, so used the external antenna ports to cable up a large LTE antenna on the roof, pointed to the nearest cell tower. Since each antenna application will be different, adapter cables are not included but can be easily found online. For my application, I used TS9 Male to N-Female pigtail adapters, then an N-Male to N-male cable to extend the wiring to the antenna. I do wish it was POE capable, especially since the total wattage is well within spec (the power supply provides either 5v @ 2.0a or 9v @ 1.8a), but I suspect a POE splitter would work fine in either 802.3af (13w) or 802.3at (25.5w). All in all it's a very compact and capable unit, albeit fairly expensive for what it is. Still, it's a clean and easy way to get wifi or hardwired internet service via cellular to any remote location you need. Perfect for remote telemetry or surveillance applications, or as I mentioned for redundant internet service for a remote site.

I use this at events as a portable wifi when there are too many people and there's poor reception. Examples are concerts, golf tournaments or festivals, so I can still access the internet in these situations. You will still need to buy a plan with AT&T.

Have this for backup and for camping. Respectfully get around 60 mbps download and 25 mbps upload. Cannot complain with that as I can use with my work from home job. Have not tried hooking to antenna to see if I could pull more speed than that yet.

Great mobile hotspot. Fast and consistent internet. One warning on activation. If you need this setup fast, you will have to take to an AT&T store to get activated as when you try online AT&T will try and mail you a SIM card.
