The top is motorized so for those who never owned this model, you must plug in the electrical cable first and then you just tap the lever up to open it and tap it down to close it and it's all motorized.

Unfortunately a lightning strike recently fried my unit so this is the replacement. I find that the capsules are reasonably priced too, even though you can only get these through Nespresso directly.

I got a replacement and the same thing happened. I returned it to get another model. Do not recommend!

Don't waste your money

Defective machine

They were the best three coffees I ever had LOL... But then it just stopped working. Of course Best Buy did give me a refund and that is why they get two stars. Unfortunately they were out of stock so I opted for a regular old fashion espresso machine
