Used this Camera for about 10 minutes before it went blank. Nothing was done to cause damage. Sent it in to be repaired and was told the warranty did not cover the damage? Best Buy made it right though!

I took a number of pictures on dry land with the camera and was dissatisfied with the results. The pictures were not sharp and the color and lighting were poor.

I love this camera, I have 2 of them. I use them for my home inspection business. I bought this camera because of the waterproof, dustproof features. I had broken several other cameras before I bought this one, dust would get inside the camera lens and scratch and jam them up, but not the Nikon AW130.

I bought this so when kayaking i don't have to worry about destroying a good camera. This little camera get's the job done, produces great photos. The only thing I am not overly happy with is the orientation of the zoom button. I would have preferred a left and right motion instead of and up and down. I'll get use to it.

Got this as my second waterproof camera from Nikon. Went on a cruise and face it water is everywhere and taking through from pool to ocean to where ever is simple and straight forward. Takes great photos and easy to use as a one shot camera option. Not a true replacement for a DSLR camera, but for everywhere usage capability it is unstoppable.

    Not waterproof

We purchased this camera based on the Nikon name and the fact that the product touted Waterproof ability. We had issues with fog on the screen shortly after the 2nd or 3rd time using this in the water. Unfortunately, the camera held out until 2 months after the warranty was us- then it totally went dead. Didn't work - condensation in the lens- would not turn on. Tried drying it out and nothing worked. We sent the camera back to Nikon in hopes that they would stand by their product and maybe repair it at no cost or send us a new one. We sent it back over a month ago and have not heard anything from the company. I am going to contact them today. I just want to state that we had issues with a Canon camera in the past getting frozen and it was beyond the warranty- we sent it in asking if they could repair it and they fixed the camera and sent it back to us at no extra cost. I am very disappointed in Nikon on their lack of response and will not buy any of their products in the future.

    Rugged and Waterproof!

I bought this for a rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. I had been before, so I knew I needed a tough camera. This one met my needs! It operated flawlessly while videoing our passage through many rapids and also did not fail under the extreme June temperatures in the Canyon. I also dropped it a couple of times and it kept going. All the while, providing great photos! Great camera! The only downside was having to use the display in bright sun, instead of a viewfinder.

Overall OK not water proof though

I have had the camera for about a year the Picture and video quality are decent, however I took the camera to the lake for the first time today and water got into the lens and into the LCD screen. Nothing that shut the camera down but now there is a permanent fog and it's impossible to see anything. This is the second Nikon camera I bought that was supposed to be waterproof and the second one that broke as soon as it touched water (even though it was locked and sealed). Nikon is clearly lying about there water proof rating to sell more cameras and figure the average person will only get a small amount of water on it.

My son chose this camera for his 17th birthday present. It's his first real camera and the quality and ruggedness were the main selling points. He is a boy scout and loves the outdoors so we're hoping to see some nice outdoor adventure pix.

Has problem with condensation under LCD screen

I had a Panasonic water-proof camera for 4 years so before my last summer (2016) vacation I 'upgraded' to this more expensive model from Nikon. I bought this camera brand new from another big brick & mortar and used it a couple times in the pool to test it out and it worked fine but when we were in Cancun, every time (during my 5 days stay) I was near the water (not even under water) I started seeing condensation under the LCD screen. I later found out when we got home that pictures came out blurry too whenever the condensation was seen. It was possible that the Mexico heat was too much for this camera to handle but my big Canon D70 DSLR didn't have any issue even when I was near the water so there must be a design flaw with this AW (All Weather) camera. I even gave the camera time outside to adjust to the heat but nothing helped. I contacted Nikon support when we got back from vacation to see if it is a known issue and the rep told me that condensation is to be expected in the heat and water. What?!? Anyway, I was over 30 days and the store didn't let me return the camera so I'm stuck with it. The camera was never leaked and it should work fine for light use in my pool but there is no way I will take it on vacation next time.

I've had Nikon cameras for a long while and this was the first one I'd call a disappointment. Wanted to get a little camera to take to the beach that I wouldn't have to worry about getting messed up. The camera was nice, compact, and easy to use, but the focus was off. The camera never produced a sharp picture even after it was sent in for repair. I'd stay away from this particular one.

I bought this a year ago, after a year and a month it just stopped working, it wouldn't turn on, I sent it to Nikon for repair, I said I rarely use it, it just stopped working by itselt, it hasn't been dropped or scratched. Nikon told me to pay for the lens $150! Half the camera's price, no way I Will just buy a Fuji Finepix for that price, they said the lens is not broken or anything it just stopped working, this is my 5th Nikon camera, I am always a big Nikon fan since college days, now because of Nikon's bad customer service, I am switching to Canon!!!

    NOT WATERPROOF! AVOID

The battery/sd card compartment just popped open on our 2nd snorkel of our VI trip. UGH!! The dial still shows that it is in the "locked" position! The camera was ruined and now we have no pictures or videos to share from our trip! Don't risk your memories on this camera. GoPro is the way to go for underwater pics/videos. Also... the one video we were able to salvage from the sd card was unviewable on MAC... I would need to go through the hassle of downloading and installing Nikon's special software just to view my videos. NOT user friendly with Mac computers.
