The camera is amazing & I will keep it. I won't sell or trade it for anything else. The delivery was excellent & the camera was in wonderful shape. The website say it was brand new & it was correct. the package was never opened & no one used it. The bad thing was it didn't come with a memory card. It would've been nice but everything else came in a package. Thank you Best Buy & i appreciate your service.

I bought this camera as a donation for a local fundraiser and I wanted to try it out and make sure it worked before donating it. I chose this camera specifically because I wanted the features to be aimed at beginners, yet still get quality pictures. As a more seasoned photographer I wouldn't use this camera, I prefer an eyepiece, manual settings and RAW. A beginner who is used to using a phone for their pictures will find this camera easy to use and get good results in Auto mode. Zoom is good, not the best on the market but very usable. The fact that it takes AA batteries is a plus to me, you can buy them anywhere and you can buy rechargeable AAs easily as well, and you never have to worry about a camera-specific battery being lost or eventually failing. Picture quality is good overall, but really requires good light. This is ok for beginners, it will likely be used outdoors or with the built-in flash which is fairly powerful. There is not a lot of room to grow with this camera, no port for external flash, no attachments for the lens such as filters, etc. Again, a beginner wouldn't need these features, but for the beginner who wants to move forward and reach the next level the camera is limited. It looks good, takes good pictures, and is easy to use. I'd recommend this camera as a good "walkaround" camera for travel and snapshots!

I've always used cameras, before digital, that had multiple settings before you could take a picture or slide. It is a pleasure to use this camera because it is easy and it still takes quality photos.

The plum color is just beautiful. This doesnt come with a strap or a case, but the camera is good quality and worth the money. The different modes are awesome to experiment with and the screen mobility makes the morw difficult shots easy peasy! Also the bluetooth and app makes it so convenient, as it just sends the pictures straight to my phone. Would 10/10 recommend this product.

This camera is so easy to use. I was looking for something to take great pictures, easy to use, but not expensive. This fit the bill. I was going on a safari and wanted something to get the good shot; not my phone. This was perfect. I was able to video and zoom. Everyone was impressed with the pictures I took and it was light enough I didn't feel like I was lugging around one of the animals!

For the price, you get a lot. Not perfect but a good, all around camera for a beginner or novice. Do not expect the camera to perform like a $1000 + camera and you won't be disappointed. Use for portraits, landscapes, some night work, some sports action, close ups, just general photography. Probably the best camera of this type in this price range. A little bulky to carry around but performs very well when needed. Need to study up & practice to get familiar with the features and learn it's strength & weaknesses before you start to shoot anything serious. One of the best features is that it uses AA batteries so they are easy to change out when batteries are running low. The tilt screen also comes in very handy. Offers a little wider lens angle that is a small difference but makes a noticeable difference in wide angle photos. Up to 600 shots claimed on one set of batteries. Expect about 300 to 400 in real world use. Depends on battery type, weather conditions, flash & zoom usage, No regrets, not for the price and all the features you get plus very good performance. Best Buy has a 13 or 14 day return if you are not satisfied with your purchase. ( Purchase a good SD card with an 80mb/sec. or faster transfer rate.)

I purchased this camera for my wife and she greatly enjoys it. I personally have a Nikon D3300 DSLR but she wanted something a bit more basic where she wouldn't have to worry about swapping out lenses. She also wanted something that was small and light while also offering a high optical zoom. After conducting research and using cameras in the store, we both decided on this camera. I'll go over the positives first. The 16MP sensor produces great shots during the day and takes decent night photos. It's definitely not on par with my DSLR but I wasn't expecting it to as this camera is less than half of what I paid for said DSLR. You'll want to at least have a monopod (I recommend a traveling, gripping tripod) if you want to take better night shots. The lens offers an exceptional amount of optical zoom topping out at 40X. There's also optical image stabilization (Nikon calls their version "lens-shift vibration reduction") and that helps take clear shots up to the full 40X optical zoom. The camera does go up to 80X zoom but that's using both optical and digital zoom. You will get better results by limiting the zoom to 40X and then using photo editing software to crop your pictures. The LCD is easy to view outdoors in bright conditions and rotates so that you can take shots down lower to the ground or while holding your camera up high. It doesn't rotate enough to take "selfies" but that's alright. Videos recorded with this camera are top notch, you can record at full 1080p and 30fps or at 1080i and 60fps. I set her camera up to shoot at 1080i, 60fps and then de-interlace the video in my (very) basic video editing software (iMovie) resulting in a 1080p, 60fps video. 60fps looks smoother than 30fps and you can even slow it down to 30fps without any skips in the framerate resulting in 1/2 slow motion. You'll need either an SD, SDHC, or SDXC card with this camera as it only has enough built-in storage for ~7 pictures but the cards are really inexpensive. We ended up buying a 64GB SDXC card for $20 from Best Buy the day we picked up the camera. Nikon has an app that you can download to your phone which will let you control the camera. It works and the live view (seeing what the camera lens does) on my wife's phone is pretty quick, it's actually a lot better than with my Nikon D3300. You can take pictures, change a few settings, and change the focus region all through the app. It works via Bluetooth or Wi-fi. Just keep in mind that it will drain both the camera's and your phone's/tablet's battery rather quickly. The app also lets you download photos off of the camera's memory card so you can edit them on your portable device. Again, this is a lot better than using the older app and wi-fi adapter with my Nikon D3300 DSLR. There are some negatives to this camera though. The buttons are not weather treated so I don't recommend taking it out when it's raining (even light rain) or when it's snowing. That's not too big of a deal though. Nikon isn't advertising this as an action camera so it shouldn't be used as such. I wish the camera would shoot in RAW but it only does JPEG. Again, not that big of an issue seeing as how point-and-shoot cameras are mainly made for people who aren't going to be conducting advanced tasks. My biggest issue with the camera is that it uses four AA batteries. The battery life is alright, you can take about 600 photos before needing to replace the batteries. But still, in this day and age, and in a camera that's $250+, it should really have a rechargeable battery. Yeah, you can buy rechargeable AA batteries but Nikon should have put one of their batteries in this. The battery life would have at least been the same and their battery would have weighed less than four AA batteries and taken up less space. There is absolutely no reason for any digital camera in 2015 or 2016 to use AA or AAA batteries. That's why I removed one star in my rating. Now my wife has to worry about carrying four additional, rechargeable AA batteries (and their large charger) whenever we travel. Other than that, this is an excellent camera for beginners, for people who just want something that they can turn on and automatically take good shots, and for people who may want to eventually get a DSLR but want an inexpensive camera now which offers many of the settings in DSLR cameras.

Takes good quality photos, especially if the lens is not in zoom mode. You need a very steady hand or, better yet, a tripod to get clear photos when using zoom mode. Easy to operate.

This camera is great for everyday shots. The picture is clear and the zoom works quite well, capturing an image without blurring the detail. There are many modes to figure out (some I don't quite get, like the creative mode--It seems geared towards teenage girls who like to distort pictures and add weird coloring--it's silly and unnecessary, but I guess you have to cater to them, too). I love the color--very nice deep purple, though the body is a bit bulkier than I like. Somewhat hard to get out of the case for a quick pic in the moment, but I overall love the power and clarity. Definitely worth getting!
