I got this camera for Christmas and I love it! It performs really well in low light conditions. My other choice was the Canon T2I but I like this one better because of the photo quality and ease of use

This is my first SLR camera and I am really enjoying it. Easy to use.

Really like the camera, takes pictures much quicker than my previous ones (minimal delay between clicking the shutter button and the picture being taken). The only feature it does not have that makes me wish I'd have purchased the next model up is that it cannot take bracketed exposure photos automatically.

I got this camera as a gift and I love it! The reason why I wanted a DSLR camera is to take pictures of the kids doing their sports. It's better than I expected! I've taken 450 pictures in a month. I'm enjoying learning how to use this camera. I'm sure my pictures will get even better.

I'm a big fan of Nikon. I have many Nikon digital cameras, but D3100 is my first SLR camera. I'll have my first baby, so I bought this camera to take portrait for her. The price is reasonable, and the function is enough for me. Photograph is not a easy thing, I want to use this camera to practice my photograph skill.

shoots fast, battery lasts long, no need to turn on the camera and wait a long time for the 1st shot. flash can be turned off fast. Very little "red eye" effect. excelent buy.

This is the best camera I've ever owned. Easy to use. Still trying to figure out some of the features. I would recommend this one over any other camera on the market.

After reading the reviews about this camera, we decided to get it, and I'm glad we did! It's a wonderful camera, and the instructional DVD that came with it really helped us to get familiar with the camera's main functions and take beautiful pictures right away.

This is a good SLR camera to start with. There are "easy use" options that you can access right from camera itself to help you get started. I believe it's a good camera for someone who is looking into photography as a hobby, not a career. But it is great that you can continue to grow this as a hobby with higher power lenses being available.

I decided to get a DSLR camera because I wanted something that had quick shutter speed so I can capture all my kids special moments. I was a little disappointed with this camera. I had high hopes because of all the great reviews. PROS: This camera was easy to set up and takes very good quality pictures. CONS: 1. The camera did not come with a USB cable to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer. It was easy enough to find a cable but if one wasn't included that should've been explicitly specified. 2. Battery was completely dead within less than 1 hour of using the camera. 3. My biggest disappointment was with the shutter speed. I had the Auto Flash turned on and noticed the Shutter speed slowed down drastically. I read through the Manual and it said if you have Auto Flash turned on it will reduce the Shutter speed. That was very disappointing! I returned this camera and purchased a Canon. So far I am very pleased with it!

I took the camera on a trip to Monterey soon after purchasing it. I took 1800 pictures while there and they turned out perfect. Great camera.

I need to take lessons to use this DSLR camera. Always had a digital "point and shoot" camera which was easier. I got this camera so I can take pictures that are better quality and more professional. I hope to be able to take pictures as a professional photographer to generate extra income. The Nikon D3100 DSLR seems like a good beginner camera. I hope to be able to use it for a long time.

This is a great DSLR camera. Easy to learn, but a lot of features for the money. Excellent picture quality and editing options!

This is a good camera. However, we have had some problems with the auto focus. If the background is brighter then the subject it does not focus. This may just be a reflection on our lack of knowledge using the camera, but it is frustrating at times. Will have to review documentation and DVD's for answers.

This camera is awesome! You can start taking great pictures with it as soon as you get it out of the box. But, I have continued to learn new features about it everyday!! Highly recommend this camera to everyone.
