This is not the camera I wanted, but BB was out of the advertised camera, so I settled for this. Sorry I didn't go somewhere else to get the sony I wanted. Maybe it's because I'm still learning to use this. But so far, I'm not impressed.

Should have had more detailed instructions on use. Lense should have a better zoom capability. Point and shoot cameras have better zoom capability than what was provided with the stock lense.

I own many other cameras and some are Nikons. This model and many of my other Nikons are very cheap feeling and produce poor image quality. A lot of artifacts and noise in the images makes it hard to use any of the final images. I have many Nikon lenses and need to keep some of these models working for my business. I am very close to moving away from Nikon due to the poor image quality of their cameras. I am having much better results with my other makes and will make the change by year end. I recommend you look at another brand.

My husband and I have spent thousands over the last few years on pictures...from our wedding to the birth of our 1st baby. The last straw was when I wanted to spend hundreds on 1st birthday pics. He said "We will buy a camera and take the pics ourselves." We purchased the D3200 bundle which comes with 2 lenses and a bag. It was a great value for the price. This camera doesn't disappoint! Its a great camera for beginners DSLR users. We are still learning all the features but I'm excited to see all it can do.

    Awesome camera especially for beginners!

This was my first SLR camera, although I have borrowed my sister's Canon in the past. I personally feel as though Nikon's take a clearer, more vibrant picture, so when I set out to purchase a camera, I knew that a Nikon was the one for me. I settled on the D3200, because it has a comfortable grip, it's a rather affordable price, and the bundle that it came with was also something that I just could not walk away from. I love the fact that on the top of the camera near the on/off switch is an info button. When you press that button it will take you to a menu that gives you three options (shoot, view/delete, and set up). This is truly an awesome feature! Instead of having to read a manual or go look up the instructions on Google, all you have to do is press a button and follow the directions on the screen which are all dummy-proof. The "shoot" option will take you through the variety of options available to you when taking pictures. It will tell you which option should be used when capturing portraits, landscapes, moving objects, etc. If you ever forget what each individual option is used for, all you have to do is hit the info button and it will tell you. As for the "view/delete" and "set up", that's rather self-explanatory. As I said, being new to the SLR world, I was not 100% sure what was the differences between the types of lenses that are available, but I knew that there is a wide variety for you to choose from. If you go onto Nikon's website and select the D3200, it will give you a list of lenses that they make that are compatible with the camera and will tell you what each individual lens is best used for and they will even give you some sample pictures that were taken with that particular lens. That is a great weapon for anyone that is interested in having a wide variety of lenses in their photography arsenal. The camera is basically dummy-proof. When you are trying to snap a picture and the lighting is a bit too low to capture all of the vibrant detail, the flash hood will pop up into action without having been manually forced to. I also was playing with the varying shooting frames available and a little message came up on the screen that told me to change to a different, better suited frame. For a beginner like me, that was a crucial piece of assistance that I was not initially aware that I needed. After taking heed to the camera's advice, I realized an immediate difference in the quality of my pictures. A feature that I found very useful was that the on/off button is actually a switch that you just flip back and forth. You do not need to see the screen to make sure that the camera has responded to you, like you might with a regular pocket camera. The response speed is also very pleasing, because you do not have to wait at all. The moment you flip the switch on, your camera is immediately ready for you to start snapping away without the slightest hint of hesitation. The battery is also very good so far. I have been taking non stop pictures so far and have yet to need to charge it up. I took about 55 pictures yesterday and about 10 this morning, on top of constantly playing with the settings and with the varying shooting frames, which I was sure would drain the battery. I am glad that I was mistaken, however. Something that I am not very happy about, although it has nothing to do with the actual camera itself, is the lack of lenses available in the actual stores. It seems as though for a wider variety of lenses, you will have to resort in online shopping (Nikon's website, Amazon, etc). This could be strictly due to the fact that the lenses will run you anywhere from $100-2k, so the stores probably just carry the most popular ones. This is a downfall for people like me, though, because I can read about what the actual lens is best suited for, etc, but I need to physically test it to determine if it is something that I could utilize and not feel as though I just wasted money on. Best Buy stores are pretty helpful, though. I went in yesterday to sample a lens that they had available and they allowed me to mount it onto my camera and play with it for a minute. If only they had more available...

The video showed a zoom lens. My camera did not come with a zoom lens. Also, the video advertised a plug-in to allow for instant download to my bluetooth device. I could not find the plug-in to order on the Nikon site.

    Fantastic Camera for a Beginner

This is my first DSLR camera so I am a true beginner. The clarity of the pics are fantastic. I've had this camera for over a month now and I've taken about 1000 pics. I am able to get at least 600 still pics on a single battery charge so the battery life is ample. I started taking pics as soon as I took the camera out of the box and they look great if I must say so myself. I have not used the video yet so I can't comment on that. If you're a beginner, this is the perfect camera to start with. I am very pleased with my purchase. I think I'll take some photography classes!!

Nice camera, works well with high MP sensor

Very nice camera with a high megapixel count. Usually this would present a problem as most of the time this is used for marketing. If you deal with a lot of detailed macro/closeup shots and do cropping, the extra megapixels can be a significant asset. The camera does not have a built in motor for manual lenses but most lenses have the motors built in. It is light weight and fits in the hand quite nicely and is a pleasure to use. I find myself using this camera as much as my Nikon D7000 just because of the weight, quality of pictures and ease of use. GOOD JOB NIKON!

    Great Entry Level SLR

Great camera for someone who wants to take professional looking pictures using a digital SLR rather than point-and-shoot pocket camera. Easy to use, excellent battery life. Can set for fully automatic or you can be in control. Lens are easy to put on/take off. Make sure you get the VR (vibration reduction) lens. The 3200 has video capability but I mainly use it for images. Overall a good choice.
