Couldn't decide whether to go for this or D5100. Opted for D3200 and very happy. See my reasons for choosing here: http://www.squidoo.com/nikon-d3200-vs-d5100. Loved the wifi and gps features and it's great at shooting slo-mo video, albeit at 720p

I just got this camera on June 1st, replacing my Nikon D40, I loved the Nikon D40 but it broke. These cameras are great, but I advise you to buy insurance just in case. Fixing it or replacing is not cheap at all.

This camera is a generation ahead of its competitors and it siblings D3100 and elder sibling D5100, the new t4i is also no match for this beauty as it has a better 24 megapixel sensor, cannon wow you have your hands full competing with this little guy, Just get this period !! Value !!!!

I initially bought the D-3200 but exchanged it for the D-3100 the next day because the D-3100 was less expensive. I LOVE this camera and the Nikkor 18-55 lens. It takes beautiful, sharp photos and is fairly easy to use. I am one who does NOT like to read instruction booklets. Programming this camera was reasonably intuitive on the camera's screen. I am very happy with my purchase and received very good service at Best Buy! Jack Bend, OR

the camera is a great deal. its almost a point & shoot. the only thing is the 18-55mm lens. after 10 feet. no long shot portrates only. will need a larger lens for longer shots. dennisblues2

Bought this in October for my Wife and its the best camera we have ever owned. This is our first DSLR after having Canon Elph's for many years. The DSLR is the way to go for serious picture taking. Really great on close ups for the kids. So many features we are still learning new tricks and things to do with it 2 months later. highly recommended for the price for those looking to get into DSLR's.

    My First DSLR

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I thought that the transition would be a bit easier going from a point and shoot to a DSLR, let’s just say I have a lot to learn. I am not a camera expert by any means but, I wanted something more than an iPhone to take photos of my kids. This price of the package was worth the transition. I am getting the photo quality I was looking.

I have sever Nikor lenses and find it hard to pay more for a good wide angle lens than the cost of the camera. This is designed for the very serious photographer. The included lenses will cover many situations but for me they only seemed to fill a small portion of how I shoot. A wide angle and portrait lens is the first thing I bought.
