    Great camera, Bad battery

I bought this camera on 7/18/14 with the idea of having a great camera to take pictures of my son. I love the camera, the pictures are fantastic and its super easy to use. But the battery is already shot. I am one day away from having it exactly two months and I just spent $70+ dollars on a new battery because the warranty conventionality doesn't cover batteries. Nikon refused to do anything about it and so did Best Buy. If you buy the camera I strongly suggest buying an extended warranty (make sure it covers the battery!!) because I have a feeling this wont be the last battery I have to buy.

Nikon D5100 is far more better than this one,

I just got this yesterday, as my upgrade, I had Nikon D5100 12.1-Megapixel But i'm so sorry to say or tell that my Nikon D5100 is far more better than this one, i compare by taking shot with same settings, the result is I need to return the Nikon 3200. My be i'll just wait for D5100 to have 24.2 Megapixel.

    Very Disappointed

I normally shoot a pro-grade camera and didn't expect the same quality with this, but expected decent photos. Instead, over half the photos were soft. This occurred with both the kit and a higher quality lens in a variety of lighting situations. When I read professional reviews (something I should have done beforehand), I discovered that this is a chronic problem with this camera. I'm returning it for a D5100, which received much better reviews and costs slightly less.

Very noisy IQ at high ISO

I recently purchased the Nikon D3200 with high expectations but am really disappointed. The main problem is just too much noise at higher ISO's. Once you get to ISO 800 the noise becomes really noticeable and at 1600 you can pretty much forget it unless you keep the picture size small - say for emails etc. Even at ISO 100 some noise is visible. Some other issues from the D3100 were inherited with this model too like the small viewfinder, total lack of dedicated buttons which results in a lot of hunting in menus to set/change parameters. The 11-point focusing system is the same (and its not the fastest one out there) and there's still no exposure bracketing or depth-of-field preview. These are all features found in the competition. Nikon would have been better off keeping the mega pixel count to 16 - 18 and adding more features. This is just another useless warm-over from the D3100! I'm returning this and going to Canon! Only fools will get tricked by the pixel count on this over-rated camera!

The camera auto focus does not work, and sense I don't look at it every day like a TV, it was hard to see that it didn't work, so my 30 day return policy was over, and Bestbuy no long helps with customer service, I miss the old Bestbuy

Bad Dust in View Finder Poor Quality

    Posted .

Ok, I bought this New D3200 and loved it .. Until I went outside and took a few photos of the sky and on our boat and saw several black specs in the view finder ... Dust or Dirt inside. ( camera was opened one time to install the lens. So I brought it to Nikon here in NY and left it there, came back from them WORSE! The man behind the counter at Nikon said " we dont live in a dust free world" I couldnt believe what he said.. So I thought that what I got is what I got .. So went back to best buy and we found out we had longer than expected on the return policy and got another one which was the same! So we went to a Sony NEX-7 with an Oled view finder NO MORE DIRT! Nikon needs to step up their Quality Control Big Time..

    Don't Buy this Camera

My D3200 repeatedly locks its shutter and fails to engage its flash because it can't focus, even though it is set to automatic. This emerged post 30 day BBY return period. Nikon's customer service is anonymous, machine-like and very poor.

I have owned hundreds of cameras in my life time and this has to be the worst camera I have ever owned. Defiantly not user friendly. Slow in focusing, fuzzy pictures. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Issue with memory card insertion on day 31 of ownership. Can't exchange it -- only option is to MAIL it to Nikon for repair, and wait maybe a month to get it back. Phooey. Never again.
