Don't! The bluetooth function at least to the iPhone is pure garbage. It doesn't work to transfer pictures at all and since that's the main difference between this and other cameras it's enough for me not to recommend it. Fix your App nikon

Purchased this camera as a replacement for the Canon Rebel SLR that we had owned for 10 years. However, image quality didn't seem any improvement on our old camera and usability was also no better. Hence returned it. Disappointed to have to pay a 15% restocking fee - will think twice before buying from BestBuy again.

So, this camera appeared to be in working condition for the first few days after purchase but soon the problem with it became readily apparent. It’s completely broken. All the photos taken on this camera over expose. There’s something seriously wrong with this. I can’t believe they have the audacity to be selling this item when it doesn’t work at all. They totally ripped me off.

I purchased this with the understanding I could use the expensive lenses from my outdated Nikon as told by the salesman. When I got home and tried to get the camera to work, it would not accept my lenses. I had to return it for a refund.

Great Camera For Price and Entry Level

I have an older Nikon D80 which at my age became too heavy to lug around on my neck. The D3400 is much lighter and just what I need. It takes great pictures with my Red VR I I and F1.8 35mm Nikon Lens. With modern cameras I feel lens are the secret to great picture taking and it is easy with my new D3400.

    Excellent Camera but download problems

    Posted .

This camera doesn't come with any type of cable to allow you to download the images to your computer or any other device. There is an app, SnapBridge, which is supposed to allow you to download the images via bluetooth but it doesn't work at all. I've tried dozens of times and it just doesn't work on my phone or new iPad. Either the app is defective or the blue tooth capability of my camera doesn't work. Either way, I can't download the pictures. Besides the connection issues, I'm sure this is an excellent camera, although I can't tell at this point.

Snapbridge app no longer works, don't buy this!

I wanted to upgrade from my D3300, also Nikon, to get bluetooth as the Wu1-a adapter over wifi is spotty. Upon installing the Nikon Snapbridge app, going through the steps dozens of times, and then to my horror discovering that the app doesn't work with updated android and Nikon isn't fixing it. (Reviews in play store site the problem up to 6 months ago). It's now 4am, I have class in a few hours, and no camera to use since I have to return this. Anybody want to buy a D3300 for cheap? Switching brands asap.

Updates have been issued that resolved a connectivity issue that arose with the release of the Android 7 operating system. The D3400's firmware should be updated to version C:Ver.1.12 which can be found, along with instructions for updating camera firmware, at this address:  http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/330/D3400.html . If your Android device isn't set to automatically update apps then please update the SnapBridge app to the most recent version manually. Nikon
