the camera is perfect for someone who is a beginner in photography. it is easy to carry around you neck and it takes out clear distinct pictures. Nikon is a good brand and it has proven this with this 3500 camera. my next advancement is the 5600

I've been using this camera for almost two years and I think it is one of the best entry level cameras out there the only flaws are there is no mic jack for video and the the low light capability is not great at all but besides that it's a great camera for people that do photography as a hobby or to learn

This was our 1st higher end camera purchase. After reviewing MANY cameras we decided this was the one for us. It has many built in modes to start you off shooting great photos and those can be tweaked once you learn more about what you're doing. The manual shooting mode has many options but layed out very well and is easy to navigate even for a begginer. Haven't messed with much passed the preset options and haven't really needed to! Pictures come out great!

I'm new to photography and needed a nice camera for taking pictures of my kids. This is great, fairly lightweight to What I thought it would be. I do want to mention there was no Manuel besides a one page paper telling you how to put battery in and attach lens. So I was clueless on what all the buttons meant and I still don't know what everything does. But it does take great photos! LOVE that there is a photo sharing and backup app so it's easy to save and share photos to a smartphone or computer with Bluetooth!

Easy to use. Great quality pictures. Bundle with telephoto lens is a good value. We used this during our vacation in Yellowstone National Park and took awesome pictures.

Very light weighted, easy to use starter DSLR. I’m buying this as a gift, and the $400 is a very attractive price point.

After some extensive research, the majority have recommended me the Nikon D3500 or Canon Rebel T7. They are the perfect budget and beginner-friendly DSLR camera to get you into the photography scene or even if you just want a reliable everyday quality DSLR which will hold up for many years. Best bang for your buck

This is an excelent dslr camera for beginners and have knowledge of photography. For me, this is a replacement of a D3100, I choose this because almost all the accessories that I bought for that camera work for this one like the external flash, or the extra 35mm and 180-255mm lenses. The new features are also perfect for getting your pictures to publish on social media ASAP, and to use your phone as a remote

Great camera. Better quality than my cell phone. I am a more advanced photog but love the weight and the fact the lenses for all my Nikon cameras fit. It is really light weight but what really matter are the quality of the photos.. They are great.. I would suggest a swivel flash for a little more power.

Read a bunch of other reviews before buying this camera. Was an anniversary gift and replacement to my wife’s older d40x she bought years ago. That camera is still nice, but the new one is lighter weight, has more modern features, and a very quiet and stable lens system. We took this on a trip shortly after purchase and it was nice to be able to take more shots on a single charge and the weight difference was definitely noticeable from the D40X. Nikon has always seemed a dependable brand for this type of camera.

As someone who recently took up photography, this DSLR camera is amazing. The guide mode really helps new users understand how the camera works and helps you take the best possible picture. Interface is pretty straight forward and ergonomic.

Great camera for the price. Super versatile, big improvements over past models of the D3XXX series, video is really clean & crisp, the only thing I wish that this had is an external microphone port, but for that I'll have to upgrade to the D5XXX series down the line. Otherwise it can't be beat for $500!

I've always used a point and shoot camera but I wanted one that can do a bit more. This camera is easy to use for someone who doesn't really know much about photography. I've been very happy with the ease of using the camera and the quality of the photographs. I mostly use the auto setting but this camera can do a lot more. The only think I don't particularly like is the shape of the camera and the placement of the buttons.

Got it as my first camera, and was really easy to get the hang of. Will need to buy a mini HDMI in order to be used as a webcam for computer, but aside from that it was a great buy.

Purchased this camera on special on Father's Day. For the same price as the camera itself, received an extra carrying case, an extra lense and the memory card. The pics it takes r sharp and clear and it even has a guide function to walk u thru its operation. Love it!

We had the Nikon D3100 and this one is a tremendous upgrade. The shutter is quick and pictures are sharp. We love the Bluetooth connectivity that gives me instant access to photos from my iPhone.
