It came with two lenses and a bag. Good value. There is an app to download pictures from the camera to your phone which is very useful. It takes good pictures.

A perfect SLR for beginners, relatively simple to get up and running and made more versatile with having the two lens. A big step up in quality from a point and shoot or a phone camera.

This is a great entry level camera. Learning photography and this camera is helping teach me. Used for football action shots, and wildlife shots. Great lenses package as well.

Definitely a step up from the point and shoot cameras but easy enough that anyone can capture great pictures with this package. Good feel to the body so it feels stable as you're taking the shot. It's not intuitive so do read the easy quick start manual for how to take video, though it's simple to do once you know the easy sequence of buttons.

If you're looking to get more creative with your photography, and looking for your first DSLR, the Nikon D3500 is hard to beat. Remarkable 1,550-shot battery life and Excellent image quality.

This is my first "real" camera and I love it! Super easy to use and navigate and the two lenses are great for landscape and portraits. Very comfortable to hold and easy to handle.

There's a lot to like here. The picture quality is very good to excellent. It's low light capabilities are good. Battery life is outstanding. Two relatively minor complaints. Changing ISO settings is a bit awkward and the preset light readings give some odd hues to images at times. Still learning all the capabilities of the camera though.

I bought the original version, D40, with whooping 6 MP. It was the best entry level dslr at the time and had decent kit lens. Needed a bit longer lens and surely needed more digital capacity. This fit the bill. I kept my older two lens and now have 4 usable lens with the new body. Take the time and set it up, then set it on auto and go. I have no issues with low light shots or anything else. Only suggestion is that if your primary goal will be video, be sure to check out Sony and Canon as well. I am mostly into single shots and its difficult to beat Nikon in this area.
