For the amateur dad photographer, this is a pretty good camera to start with. I mainly use it to take pictures of my daughters' dance competitions so the bigger lens is my go to. It gets the job done and I am able to micro adjust the settings to give me what I need even in the low light and stage lights. The smaller lens works well for a point and shoot but gets the job done. Overall, if you are looking for a camera that you can vacation with or take pictures of family gatherings or small sporting events, this camera doesn't disappoint for the price.

The camera kit has been awesome! My only issue was finding good initial instructions on how to use it. It seems to assume you have pretty good baseline knowledge even though it’s advertised as a beginner camera. Once I was able to find some instructional videos I am enjoying using it and very pleased with it’s capabilities.

I bought this Nikon D3500 camera to help me learn photography using a wide range of lens I wanted to work with. This one has helped a lot in that purpose and is a great camera to start with! The 70-300 mm lens that is provided by Best Buy with the camera kit is a cherry on the cake. I would definitely recommend this to others.

I must say I'm extremely pleased with the performance of this camera. It's my first dslr and I have lots to learn but it makes taking pictures easy for the beginner and then one can fine tune picture taking by learning how to use the multiple settings available. It's a great purchase and I'm happy to recommend for purchase.

My wife is getting interested in photography and I think this is a good system to get started. High pixel count and good lenses resulted in a successful start to her hobby. As she gets better and if she wants to grow new skills, my collection of Nikon lenses will give her more opportunities to learn about the fine optics that integrate with this camera.

My cousin wanted a camera to take to him on a vacation trip, just to document locations and get a couple of shots. No need for a big expensive camera like the ones I use. I pointed him to this unit. You get to experience the workings of a DSLR in a small basic package. It's nice that it's bundled with two lenses so he can get some reach with the zoom lens. Don't buy this if you want to get serious about photography, you'd be wasting your money. Move up to the Nikon 7000 Series or even the Sony mirrorless systems for better photography. Overall, you get a lot for your money if you want to take pictures here and there and are not expecting fantastic results.

I had bought this for a Christmas present since I like photography. Since my purchase of this camera I have taken more tha enough photos and began to learn more about angles and lighting. For starting out it is not a bad camera and I expect to continue with my hobby and grow more into it. The items that came with the camera for the deal we had gotten were worth the cost.
