I bought this camera for my kids, and it’s pretty much ideal. They’re not complete beginners, but they’re definitely still learning, and this hits the sweet spot—it does enough automatically to help them now, and it will let them have more control as they become more capable. It’s small and light, and the included lenses offer plenty of range to get started with. It’s obviously not the same class as my own D850, but it’s exactly the right tool for them. I definitely recommend getting an extra battery—it gets a reasonable number of shots per charge, but no one ever remembers to put the battery on the charger every time.

Simple entry level camera to pick up skills with. The extra lens was a plus. Wish I was able to record video for a longer duration though. Regardless, really nice beginner camera.

We bought this camera for our teenage daughter, who loves how easy it is for her to use. She also appreciates how easy it is to get the images from the camera to her phone for sharing on social media. It's a great camera for someone looking to dip their toe in the world of DSLR cameras.

No complaints so far...beginning photographer and it's doing fine for what I need. Have always used Nikon cameras so the majority of basic features are just like older cameras.

My professors always told me it’s not the equipment, it’s what you do with it. This little camera has amazing potential and takes great photos. I’ve had no issues and so far it does what I need it to. Love it.

This is my first camera and love it. Also I was told that best buy has camera classes from the salesperson that sold me the camera, and think that’s awesome for someone that’s just starting out.

The price is so worth it for the lens kit. I am new to photography, was able to watch a few videos to help me with the settings, and immediately started taking awesome pictures.

Normally I buy Canon, but I couldn't find the one I wanted at an affordable cost. So I changed it up and got this Nikon. And I am SO happy I did! This camera is AMAZING!

This camera includes a lot of great features for an intro level Nikon. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in photography. You can do a lot from basic family pictures to larger landscape pictures.

I absolutely love the picture quality. I would have loved a bigger bundle with a variety of lenses though. Also, I was under the impression that it came with a camera bag but it did not.

took me a little while to get used to all the features but once you start practicing it helps a lot. love the quality of the pics it takes and the fact that came with 2 different lenses it was a plus!

All in all, this is a great kit for a starter or even a first upgrade for an intermediate. My only wish is that there was a flash included or maybe a filter but that is not a detractor from the value.

This is a very good camera for a beginner photographer. The lenses it comes with gives you great flexibility for different types of shots, from fast moving to night time photos.

This camera is amazing. I would recommend taking the free online Nikon class that comes with the camera. Lots of great information with that class! I'm excited to capture pictures on my upcoming vacation!
