He got me this camera for Christmas and I love it. You can download the Nikon app and your photos will be added to your phone and the app also has a remote so it's easy to take family pictures.

Excellent upgrade to DSLR

I recently upgraded from my old film gear. It has a very good sensor found in more pricier cameras and has plenty of features for the novice to intermediate users. While the 2 zoom lenses offer good ranges in focal length, they aren't very fast. F/3.5 and 4.5. I would recommend a good 50MM fast lens for portraits and low light stills (purchased a NIKKOR AF-S 50mm F/1.8 at best buy for under $200) and an upgraded speedlight TTL flash.

Great smaller, lightweight DSLR camera

She took it to Hawaii & without any prior experience using a camera like this, she was able to figure out how to use it & took some great pictures. It’s lightweight making it an easy carryon travel addition.
