I got this camera for my daughter as a gift so that she could expand her creative talents. Yes, there are "better" cameras but there are also worse ones, and therefore, I would not mark this camera as one only for beginners.

This camera is great for the novice user because it is so easy to understand. The features are well defined and easy to access.

This is a great little camera for beginner to intermediate photographers. I like the weight and it is simple for switching back and forth from automatic to manual and shooting kids and sports.

This is the most advanced digital camera i've ever used. The camera offers the ability to use it either simply or very advanced. Either way the pictures & video results are sharp whether i'm shooting in bright or dim light. The lenses provideo extremely sharp results with excellent color reproduction.
