This camera has more features than does the 3000k line of Nikon DSLRs. It has WiFi capability which has been an awesome way for myself to get pictures in and out of my storage quickly!

The photo and video quality is a huge step up from the d3200. Image looks much more crisp and huge amount of detail.

The camera is nicely equipped yet not overwhelming with features. Perfect for entry-to-mid level photographers.

This is an excellent mid-level camera at a very good price. It handles full-automatic shots like a simple point-and-shoot, has full manual similar to more expensive models, and has a number of very useful semi-automatic modes where you get to choose one of the settings and the camera does the rest.

Great camera for a beginner. I love that I can easily transfer my pictures to my phone. YouTube videos taught me how to shoot in manual and raw depending on what I was looking for. Great quality pictures. I get compliments on my website and sell post cards and greeting cards at a local shop.

I bought this camera because we were expecting our first baby and wanted to capture every moment with at a preofessional level. After extensive research, we decided on the D5300. The price was just right for our budget and it had all the features we were looking for. Very easy to use. The controls are intuitive and the menu is easy to follow and choose from. My first few photos didn't look quite what I was expecting but after I got used to the camera I was shooting like pro. The resolution is the highest for this level. It's fast, although speed degrades if using the live view mode. fits nicely in my hands and everything is ergonomic. My favorite camera.
