This is a great camera for a beginner-to-intermediate photography enthusiasts. It is a wonderful platform to learn and master the three kings of photography; Shutter speed, Aperture and ISO and move to the next level. It produces crisp images, fully detailed with 24 million pixels and zoom is pretty good for outdoor daytime shooting. Overall, with a 18-55mm VR lens and a 75-300 IS lens the pack is worth the bucks.

I needed a camera to take pictures from small planes for Civil Air Patrol. Also wanted a better camera to take pictures of my growing family and for our dog rescue. This takes amazing pictures that I know my other Nikon could not do as well. The zoom lens that it comes was amazing to take pics of buildings miles away. This and the D7100 are the only models that will work well for the FEMA work we do.

I've had this camera for almost 3 years now and i've enjoyed it the entire time. Its easy to learn how to use and everything is placed in a realistic spot on the camera body. If you're planning to become very serious about photography then I would suggest getting a full frame camera. But if you just need a camera for a hobby, this is a great choice.

I love this camera. The 300 mm lens is perfect for those shots that are just out of reach with the standard 18-55 mm lens. I haven't even gotten to mess around with the wifi transfer yet, but that was certainly a selling point (no hassle with memory card readers). There are a ton of features that allow you to set different scenes for your shot, and the picture quality is amazing.

I purchased this for my wife who wanted to take "nicer" pictures of our children usually in their natural environment. She inspected the camera a bit in the store, but after taking pictures of our kids playing outside and some holiday pictures, she loves it. This isn't your $1000+ camera that your artsy photographer and studio portrait company uses, but it does take great pictures.

WOW! This camera definitely takes some quality photos with little effort put forth behind the camera lense. I do have to say, this is not the most user friendly camera, can take some time to actually get used to all of the settings, as I am still learning and I have had mine for almost a year, yes that's right a year, However it was pretty easy to get started.

First the weight of the camera isn't overly heavy. Gripping and the handling for the camera is ok. The functions on the camera were not overly complicated. It took me some time to fiddle around with the settings. The battery life is decent, right now I am just learning how to use the camera so it isn't a concern. The lens it comes with isn't too bad. Currently I am starting out dabbling with this camera as a hobby, but eventually once I get better at it I may upgrade. For now I feel this camera is equipped with everything that a beginner or for folks that are just shooting as a hobby.
