    I have been taking a lot of pictures using the D 5300 in different modes . I have been quite happy so far, but still have a lot to learn about the D 5300. The camera is fairly easy to use so I am not worried about trying different functions on the camera. I am looking forward to going on holiday in a short time and to really give the D 5300 a good work out .

    This camera is amazing! This picture quality is beyond belief. I got it for my husband as a Christmas gift and he has not been able to stop taking pictures. We took it with us to meet Santa with our son and I noticed that the "professional photographer" had the SAME EXACT CAMERA!. Simple amazing. I will definitely recommend this purchase. I got it for a steal too!

    My girlfriend is just getting started in photography so we went and picked out this camera. We went with the 5300 over the 3400 so she could grow into it. So far she loves it as it is very beginner friendly and explains everything you need to know. I would also recommended it for someone with a little experience under their belt as well.

    Even though there an updated version of the camera available (D5600), the D5300 is still quite nice. With 24 megapixels and wifi capabilities, this camera is compatible to the Canon T6, and available at a much better price. As long as you don't shoot a lot of video, you will be very happy with this camera (T6 is better for video). The kit lenses are actually decent, with the 18-55mm even having image stabilization built in (the 70-300mm lenses does not have stabilization). All in all, this is a great beginner/intermediate DSLR at a great price.

    Stepped up to the D5300 from an older D3100. Really like all of the features! Would have given it 5 stars, but two things I don't like: 1) it doesn't lock in timer mode, you have to reset it after every shot, and 2) the app to connect to a phone is terrible! Both of these issues are solved with a 3rd party app for my phone. I can remotely control the shutter (and other functions that you can't control with the Nikon app), so the timer isn't needed. And I can transfer files much easier.

    Replacing a Nikon D40, this camera takes great photos! It is especially good in low light. Owned it for just over two weeks and still learning the myriad of features. Used it on two events, both using Automatic and manual. The auto mode takes great shots. Very happy for the new investment in this camera. Video has been very good too.
