Battery life is good and we love the lenses in the kit. Only area for improvement is the companion app, but it's not required to use unless you're on the go and need to pull files it's the camera without wires/card readers

Great Camera!!

The sale at Best Buy was unbeatable, especially with the 70x300 telephoto lens that was included. I like this camera way more than my "much older" Canon Rebel. This camera was recommended to me by a professional photographer!!!!!

This camera combo does not disappoint

Video performance is much better, and overall the sensor really gives outstanding results. The AF-S lenses are very quiet when focusing. Just wish the tele was VR also.

I photograph my grand daughter's sports activities and the 5500 does an excellent job, easy to use with the auto focus. Would highly recommend this camera to a beginner or someone who uses it for professional work.
