I was looking for a nice camera with additional settings over a basic model. I like having the flip out touch screen to change settings. Getting the 70-300 lenses as part of the package was a bonus!

I love it! I'm just getting the hang of it and every time I use it I learn something new. The video how to course was a good starter but I wish it had spent more time explaining the camera buttons themselves. The software that's included is another learning curve as well. In all it has more features than you ever imagined. I have used Nikon film cameras for many years with excellent results. I have no doubt that this will be more flexible when I learn to utilize it's many features.

The 5600 has replaced my 5100. It is a wonderful upgrade to a good camera. The touchscreen is easy to use. If you choose a camera with such capabilities, learn to use it( in manual mode) for great photos. I would absolutely recommend this camera for still photography. I have done a lot of research and compared this to the Canon 7i and I preferred the grip of the Nikon. The kit lenses do a nice job and I added a 35mm and 50mm prime lens for clear crisp results.

Always had basic dolls, this is a step up. A little complicated, no manual but takes fantastic pictures. Love the WiFi download

Other than an expected but not difficult learning curve to use its many functions, it is every thing that you would expect in a Nikon DSLR. One complaint, when using the touch screen menu the information disappears after a short time. Basically you must have a good idea of what you want to change...if you think too long the function setting will disappear, Beginner or advanced, it's a solid camera.

I am in love with this camera. Easy to use and take great pictures. Highly recommend!
