Nikon not as good as Canon

Not a big fan of Nikon. I have been a canon for almost 20 years. I wanted to try out some basic models from Nikon. Did not like it. Basic auto focus motor functions not as good when compared to Canon. I returned this in a week and paid a restocking fee :-)

    WiFi? Bluetooth? Research deeper

Camera works fine. Do not assume that WiFi means camera will connect to your WiFi to upload pictures. The camera has its own WiFi that your smart device can connect to and then interface to provide location, date information etc.. as well as transmit pictures to your phone/smart device. The app that Nikon provides to do these functions is not intuitive. Set up is not straight forward like connecting other devices to a smart phone/device. I never thought that a camera purchase would require research on WiFi and Bluetooth interfaces. As well as end user interfaces. I expected the camera to connect to local network, and allow user to upload to a specified folder or to cloud storage.

Hard to believe something this complex and expensive could be sold without a users manual. This is how a good camera turns instantly into an average deal. Never again Best Buy, never again.

The camera is good, but easy over priced at Best Buy. The "deal" the salesperson was pushing wasn't such a deal.

These reviews of 5 stars must be by folks that have never shot a single frame. This has become by far the worst camera I own. For a DSLR this thing is awful from taking 1 shot to taking multiple frames to video. I bought the camera for the flip to the side video monitor but I was also expecting a camera that functions. This thing had ZERO documentation when I bought it, zero cables. I felt they put this in a box and said here lets ship something!! I've bought Minoltas Sonys Canons and Nikons in the past and was simply looking for a simple but upgraded A350 from Sony and found that this camera 10 years later in design can't even get close to the same quality. How is that possible when my Samsung Phone can and I can build a camera with a Raspberry with stronger exposure. This is a piece of junk. Very disappointed in Best Buy and Nikon for selling this. Those of you that bought this for Christmas join me and return this.

    Restocking fee- horrible policy

Now a days people should never buy any kind of camera, this camera is 24 megapixel, my one plus 7 pro phone has 48 megapixel camera, by paying same price as the camera I got a lot more than just a camera, I went to return it because the camera has connection problem (WiFi and Bluetooth connection is very poor quality, connects very rarely) and bestbuy customer service at the store charged me 90 dollars (15%) restocking fee, absolutely ridiculous. I am with bestbuy for last 12 years, never pay a penny before, it hurt me very badly, this ridiculous policy of restocking fee should stop right now, otherwise Best buy will loose a lot of customer like me. I am a elite plus customer, I spend thousands of dollars in Best buy.

Best Buy will not match non-Amazon pkg (Amazon vendor pkg) of 22 piece offer on Amazon at the same price so I have about 18 less pieces then I could have had.

When purchased, the expectation is a BRAND NEW ITEM. When picked up, strap was already attached to camera, battery was INSIDE camera. This was a returned item and sold at brand new price! Reason previous customer returned: battery life extremely poor

It’s a cheap kit. Expect a cheap kit. I would have thought something from Nikon would have been a bit more quality, despite the price.

Unbelievable, you purchase an expensive camera and there is no USB cable in the box, What does this mean? Nikon does not QA or monitor the shipping and handling?

The D5600 comes with the DK-25 rubber eyecup (on camera), the BF-1B body cap (on camera, the EN-EL14a rechargeable Li-ion battery with terminal cover, the MH-24 battery charger, and the AN-DC3 strap. A printed User’s Manual is also included in the box. A USB cable is not included. Nikon

I bought this camera with high expectations, but the directions with it were very poor. Having to download software to use it doesn't make sense to me. Worse, there is no apparent way to connect it directly to my computer. My previous digital cameras had that ability. As it is, trying to get it to work with my cell phone has been a problem. Going to have to take a class of some type before I can really use it.

    Excellent camera

The camera itself is an excellent purchase, I read many reviews before deciding on Nikon D5600. What I should of researched a little more is kit lenses. This is my first DSLR camera purchase and If I can do it all over again knowing what I know now, I would of bought just the camera body . I already purchased 2 lenses and will probably sell the kit lenses that came with it. Camera has a nice feel in the hand, feels very well built. The touch screen makes life a lot easier and it is a big reason why I went with this camera over the older D5300 that was a lot cheaper. Overall happy with my purchase just wish I bought it without the kit lenses and saved some money.
