    Great camera, I upgraded from a D80. the controls and menu system is the familiar Nikon layout. 8fps is awesome, plenty of customizable buttons, focus is more accurate than my D80. The only downside is the manual stinks it's hard to find what you are looking for.

    I had the original D40 since 2007 and put lots of miles on her. Only had this new baby a few weeks and been very busy so I’ve not had much time to learn all the features. But I did take it to my daughters soccer game and to a family gathering...blown away by the performance so far. Makes me look like a pro although I am far from it. ;-)

    Good intermediate camera. Rather heavy. If you are able to spend an additional $750, you can get a great mirrorless camera these days.
