Excellent upgrade in the D7xxx line
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this a week or two after it was released as an upgrade to my D7100. While the D7100 has been great, the D7500 is a very worthy upgrade. I considered the D500, the D750, and waiting for Nikon's new full frame releases but ultimately decided crop frame is still right for me at this point. The D7500 is basically the little brother of the D500, which (from what I've read) is incredible and bumped the D7200 as Nikon's new top crop frame camera. However for me, the D500 was too big, lacked a pop up flash, and was almost the same cost as some of their FF cameras. Pros: 1. New sensor (same as the D500). The colors and sharpness are excellent...noticeably better than my D7100. The noise and autofocus are considerably better too. There's also a new group focus point option and auto fine tune that I'm still experimenting with. 2. Lighter and slightly smaller than the D7100. Much easier to carry around. 3. It's FAST!....much faster than my D7100. 4. Rear touch screen that also tilts...comes in handy. Had that in my first DSLR (D5100) and it's nice having it back, especially for video. 5. 4K video and wi-fi/bluetooth. Haven't taken full advantage of 4K video yet but even the 1080 looks better than my D7100. I can now upload pics if I want on the fly (takes a few steps but great option to have). To save battery I leave it on airplane mode until I want to upload. Cons: The main con for me is that the D7500 only has one SD slot. I loved having an extra slot in the D7100...mostly only as a back up when I left my main one in my computer. I only used the 2nd slot during a shoot a few times in 3 years. So, now I have to be more aware of where my card is or keep extras in my bag or vehicle. I've seen complaints about this but many countered (and I agree) saying that 2nd slot rarely, if ever, "saved" a shoot when the first card went bad. Others have complained that you cannot put a battery grip on it. This was not a big deal for me. Nikon also dropped the total megapixels and reduced the monitor resolution from the D7200 and D500. These changes will not even be noticeable to most users. The last thing to consider is some editing programs (Lightroom and Photoshop in particular) have not added this camera profile to their software yet. Therefore, they will not recognize the NEF's or JPG's from this camera. This has been an inconvenience for me b/c to view and edit my photos, I've had to open the RAW files in Nikon Capture NXD (which is free), convert them to TIFFs, and then import into Lightroom where I can then work on the files. It usually takes Adobe some time (a month or two) to do this so I expect an update to be coming soon.

I am a beginner but so not worth my money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s not giving me a clear photo even though I’m using it on ever mode and changing settings I did so much YouTube to get it right and I did all the right things but still isn’t giving me anything where close to what I need even when I changed lenses

From the 7100 to 7500
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to the new model. From the d7100 to the d7500. Photos look amazing. Definitely a better piece of equipment. Only thing I miss is the double memory card slot. Touch screen makes life a lot easier. And the video quality is insane, especially compared to what the 7100 could do. Starting dabbling into video now that I get such quality. Only con is that Adobe hasn't updated it's softwares. Not able to open the pics through adobe yet. Video opens in any software like media player. And Adobe Premiere does read the video files

Great Camera
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replacement for my D90, so I could use the same lenses vs all new mirrorless. Love the handle and weight of the camera and still learning some of the newness of the camera. Shots so far are excellent. Fast processing of shots, great images. About to take on aland and cruise tour to Alaska, very excited.

Love this camera!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously owned the D5100. This is a big step up with very fast continuous speed for sports photography and great detail. The controls for changing ISO etc are easier to access than my past model and the viewing screen has touch screen options. I am very happy with this purchase!!

great upgrade from entry level DSLRs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm amazed at the features and build quality of this camera; moved up from the D3200 which is a great camera as well. I wasn't sure about the usefulness of a touch screen, but I realized how useful it is after going back to the D3200. It is a bit heavier and larger than the D3200 (as all good things have "costs"), however, the viewfinder is much bigger than the one in the D3200. The D7500 is also fully compatible with the newer Nikon AF-P lenses.

Great Camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like it better than my d7000, its a great up grade, great pictures and fast, and most of all the wi-fi, blue tooth capabilities, I can download and check the pictures and send it to friends and family, although it has only 1 memory card slots but can take up to 1 T of memory, so highly recommended for those seeking for non full frame Camera.

Great Camera for DX format - matches all my lenses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find that the D7500 tracks closely with the D750, except the D750 has more features and does FX format. I have been impressed with the ease of operation of the D7500, and really like the new features compared to the D3300 I have. It was a good purchase for the money with many great features.

Major upgrade from D7000
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have owned a D7000 for several years and recently decided to upgrade to the D7500. Amazing camera and very happy I took the plunge. Bought 'body only' as I already had ample compatible lenses. Extremely similar controls/menus as the D7000 so easy learning curve. Liked having a dual SD card slot in the D7000 but otherwise every change has been a positive to me: - Wifi/Bluetooth works perfectly... really cool to take a DSLR photo and have a copy ready to text on my iphone! - Photo quality is superior to the D7000... have taken several side by side comparisons and every time the D7500 looks better - Low light quality is amazing - LOVE the rotating screen All in all extremely happy with the new camera, HIGHLY recommended

Awesome deal!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already own one Nikon D7500 and wanted to buy another so that I had 2 cameras that are identical. Best Buy had a remarkable sale on a new-in-the-box camera body and I was thrilled to get a new one at pre-owned prices, along with the extended warranty. The customer service was amazing and I am VERY happy with my purchase.

Excellent find
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent camera! I purchased it as an upgrade for still photography and find it easier to setup and use the custom settings than expected. The white balance visual and final result is excellent. The auto mode functions well but you should plan to use the benefits of the custom settings. Mirrorless cameras may eventually be preferred but this camera is currently a better option based on my research. I mostly do macro photography and will now upgrade my lens to take advantage of this camera’s improvements. Purchased through Best Buy because I wanted a dependable vendor.

Another Stellar Nikon DSLR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Nikon shooter since before digital. Nothing in my humble opinion compares to Nikon. This camera replaced my Nikon D7100, which is still a very capable camera, but the D7500 is several steps ahead. With fewer (but larger pixels), this camera shoots with stunning clarity. It's faster with 8 FPS continuous and the inclusion of what makes the top end D500 such a great camera, is also shared with the D7500. I love how this camera weighs fractionally less than the D7100, but has a more weather sealed body and the inclusion of an articulated screen is a nice addition. This camera sacrifices one memory card slot, but with memory so inexpensive these days, a 128 GB card will hold more photos than I could possibly take at one time. It's also a great addition that this camera is fully Bluetooth and Wifi enabled and communicates easily to Nikon apps to quickly and seamlessly transfer your pictures to your mobile device. This is a great addition to the Nikon lineup and is perfect for someone who is looking for something that will challenge their creative abilities more than the less expensive gear, but won't break the bank like their top end gear.

Love this Camera!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera, love the touch screen! I didn't think I'd like having a touch screen, but this one makes so many things so much easier. Sometimes the camera doesn't want to focus where I want it to focus, so I can just switch to live view and tap the screen where I want it to focus, then it focuses there and takes the photo. Makes things so much easier! I use this camera (along with a 2.8 f stop lens) for night sky photography as well and have been incredibly happy with the results. Because I'm short, having an articulating screen is super handy, because I can hold the camera up over my head, but still see what I'm aiming at!

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera upgraded my d3300 and it is a huge difference. It has all the controls you need from a full frame nikon, but without the price. It is still priced in the higher side, but it is an investment that pays for itself with the photos you can take. The biggest downsize is nikons fully integrated snapbridge support which completely eliminates the ability to direct wifi connect this camera to a computer. If you are looking for that, you need to go with the d7200. Only one memory card slot, not 2 like the d7200. The camera body is noticeably heavier than the d3000 or d5000 series cameras, however weight adds features as nikon has demonstrated with this one.
