Customers admire the D810 DSLR Camera's astonishing picture quality, ease of use, and high resolution. Many appreciate its strong low-light performance and ergonomic design, although some find it heavy and note the large file sizes. The lack of Wi-Fi capability is also a recurring point of feedback. Overall, the camera receives praise for its impressive image quality and features.

Switched from modded Canon T3 to Nikon D810, was originally thinking about the D810A but wanted a setup that could do Astro and Landscapes. Quite satisfied with my decision and pleased with my Alaska Northern Lights pictures. Only regretted not buying the Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 ED lenses as the Tokina 16-28 mm had quit a bit of coma at the edges. The camera is a bit heavy but with a nice manfrotto head and slik tripod, my pictures turned out remarkably well. Battery life was good even when the temperature plummets to -24F. I have used this body for 5 months so far using various lenses including large telescopes to capture galaxies, nebula, aurora, and landscapes with excellent color and resolution. I find it much easier to use rather than using my specialized ccd cameras that cost 3x's the cost of this body. Paired with a quality lense, this camera will allow you to capture some stunning images. I did buy a wireless shutter controller while up in Alaska which helps not only for Astro but distant animal photos. There was a learning curve making the switch from Canon to Nikon but so far it has been worth it. I still might consider buying the D810A version but it would be exclusively be used for Astro images.

There are some nice features to this camera, and it can produce some quality images. The one thing you don't find disclosed in the product description though is that the Raw files produced by this camera, probably will not be recognized by your computer, or a lot of software. So until you can update your operating system and your software, you are forces to convert you RAW files to DNG files before you can process them. I know this is due to the camera having an advanced image processor, and in time most programs may be updated to where they can be user friendly with the Nikon D810, but it would be nice to be made aware of this before you purchase the camera.
The camera itself is an excellent quality full frame camera, and should be a dependable tool to work with for some time. The overall weight is a little heavy, but if you desire the high resolution as I myself do then you don't mind the weight. Of course this is still almost the same body as the D800, and if you are used to it you should be comfortable with this camera as well.
Overall it performs very well, and is a professional quality camera. Other than having to adjust for the inabillity of being able to directly process the RAW files at the moment, I am very pleased with is as a whole.

This is my replacement for Nikon D7000 now I can really do my work especially in low light photography and portraits, also great for action and landscaping. If you are using manual setting you are blessed with this camera. Use only the best lens on this body to enjoy 36 megapixels. Now my life is more happy with a great pictures and true colors compering to canon.

The image quality is excellent and the D810 is built like a tank! You must have good glass to get the most out of this camera, otherwise you will be better of with a lower resolution camera.

I upgraded to this camera from a consumer model Nikon (D5000) and this camera has taken my photography to new levels. I'm not a full time professional but I do use this camera for professional architectural and occasionally event photos. My passion however is for nature and in all of these realms this camera has blown me a away. Whether a starry night, the wedding kiss or a special home, this camera is more than capable of capturing that perfect picture if the user is capable of taking it.

Love this camera. Def worth the price. Buttons to change the most used features (ISO, SS, APERTURE, WB...) are in convenient places, easy to change on the fly. Produces pictures that blow the competition out of the water. Video is crystal clear, buttery smooth. Photos are crisp, colors pop. Does not support Infrared remotes, needs the wireless adapter and the remote adapter to use wireless remote. I just picked up the cheapo Insignia wired remote, works fine. Supports multiple external slave flashes via the pop up flash of a hot shoe mounted flash, or even through another wireless adapter. i love this freakin' camera.

This was a replacement for my D800 that died and while I loved my D800, I love this camera even more. The dynamic range is amazing, I love the Quiet C mode, and the extended EV for bracketing (you can go up to 3 EV between exposures now).

I upgraded from a Nikon D600 to the D810. It's 36 megapixels sharp. I shoot plenty of landscape and a little wildlife photography. The D810 is perfectly suited for either.

This camera is amazing. With 36 megapixels, there is very little need for massive tele's. With a fast (f2.8) 200mm you can crop down to the size of a pencile tip and still maintain amazing sharpness. Don't skimp on the lense though, you will notice!

This is my main camera and it is INCREDIBLE. Tack sharp, high ISO capabilities, higher sync speed, everything you need! I shoot about 50 weddings a year and countless other shoots and I know I can produce consistent high-quality results with this camera in my hands!

The D810 is loaded. The 36 megapixel full frame sensor with no anti-aliasing filter makes superior images. For me the D810 has great handling with good ergonomics (deeper grip, good balance, and effective controls layout), and I have no difficulties with the menus. The D810 is a great match for the way I shoot, and it works well with my current F-mount lenses, including some legacy glass, although I also plan to add a couple of the newest VR lenses when I can. This camera is a dream to shoot. Also, there are plenty of in-camera shooting options as well as some great adjustment and processing options that for many users may cut down on computer time, depending on their preferred workflow. In short, the D810 is a terrific tool for making great images!

The D810 is an awsome camera. This camera can give you image quality that can rival medium format camera, but you pay for that with very large file size and potential workflow slowdown if you have an older computer system.
My only gripe is i bought this camera from Best Buy and it was not "brand new", someone have already took it out of the box, setup the camera, and already taken a bunch of shots with it. This was sold to me as brand new. You can tell if a camera is "brand new" from the factory or not is when you put in the battery, the first thing it should promt you to do is to select a language and or region. The camera I got did not do this, it was already set up, i can just start shooting, so i check the shutter count via embeded data on the image files, it was less than 100, so i decided not to go thru the hassle of trying to prove it to best buy and I kept the camera anyway. I wish that best buy didnt do this kind of things but some times when you try to support your local stores and not buy stuff via the internet, it back fires.

This is a resolution monster The low Iso and auto focus make this camera a dream. The shutter is super quiet and the group AFS makes it a great camera to track those unpredictable subjects. This camera produces gallery size prints and they can be tack sharp. Tripod is suggested for those tack sharp images.... I am very pleased with the d 810 !
