Customers admire the D810 DSLR Camera's astonishing picture quality, ease of use, and high resolution. Many appreciate its strong low-light performance and ergonomic design, although some find it heavy and note the large file sizes. The lack of Wi-Fi capability is also a recurring point of feedback. Overall, the camera receives praise for its impressive image quality and features.

Takes adjusting to some of the buttons that have shifted but I like how quiet it is compared to my now worn D800. The grip area feels smaller though.

The Camera Came in with over 7000 Actuations!

The product is without doubt one of the best DSLR out there.
However, the open-box item I ordered from Best Buy Online came in with over 7000 actuations. And I can tell from the wear of the body that this has been used for at least one outdoor shooting.
I had to bring it back. Best Buy took care of it nicely though.
I would suggest Best Buy to have one extra check before labeling a DSLR excellent condition open box item. Over 7000 actuations makes a camera a solid used item, not an excellent item.

I recently sold my Sony A7 and upgraded to the D810. After having the D810 for a couple of days now, I am in awe of this camera. The D810 has taken my photography to a whole new level. The focus is incredibly fast and accurate (something I couldn't say for the A7). The picture quality is something that has to be seen to believe.
Anyone thinking about purchasing this camera should stop thinking and just buy it (if you can afford it). I highly doubt that you'll be disappointed... I sure wasn't.

The upgrades from the D800 and D800E are very much what I had hoped for.
There are a lot of upgrades but here are the ones I like a lot.
The D810 has no low pas filter and is very, very sharp and I haven't noticed any moire. Higher buffer rate is greatly appreciated. They added zebra stripes which seems long over due. I've been playing around with there new "Flat" profile for both photos and video and so far I'm really liking it a lot! Using the Flat profile with video, is like shooting in RAW for video! Another helpful tool is group auto focusing. The D810 has better ISO range now from 64-12,800. Nikon also improved the battery life. It still uses the same battery that the D800 used but now has up to 33% shooting time.
My use is mostly for video but this camera is great for both video and photos.

I loved my d800 and wouldn't have even considered upgrading to the d810 if my 800 hadn't gone missing. I love the updates, though. Amazing camera!

Look, I have been waiting for this camera since the D300. I have hopscotched from a few D5100 series to the D7100. The D7100 never lived up to the standards I needed regarding image quality. This D810 Is amazing out of the starting gate. It feels like the build quality of my D7100. Much lighter than I expected. Not sure if that will translate into a camera built to last like the tanks of the 70s and 80s. Over all I am happy except I feel it is slow processing raw and High res Jpgs when scrolling back and fourth viewing images. I am using a extreme SanDisk SD card. Shooing mic/macro, I need a steady camera so I love the shutter clap its amazing and very very quiet compared to the cameras of yesterday. More testing is needed but so far so good. Its worth the extra $1000 for my work, vs the D800e.
