Outsanding Tech...Poor Build Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received my D850 (body only) during April 2018. It was a beautiful camera and the technical aspects were outstanding, however, the build felt cheap compared to my Nikon D500, D700, D4, Olympus OMD EM1 Mk II, and Sony A7R III. In fact, it felt like a toy compared to the "tank" like builds of the Sony A7R III and Olympus EM1 Mk II. Likewise, there is no comparison between the builds of the Nikon D700, D4 and D850. The D850 may have a titanium base, but the cover is made of cheap plastic and the doors and hinges won't last or take any forms of abuse. I thought the battery door would fall off after a few actuations. Long story short, I immediately returned the D850. I was very disappointed with the build quality of the D850.
