This is key to the nikons that don't have wifi or Bluetooth. Connects directly with your phone so you get great pics that can be immediately sent to social media

Read the mixed reviews on this product but purchased anyway due to willingness to try anything. It works just as advertised. No issues. Very easy to use.

    Way too slow on iOS

I've tried using this three times with my Nikon D3300 and the results are always terrible. I'm not sure if it's the adapter itself or if Nikon's iOS app is that bad. I've tried their setup on my iPad Air 2, iPhone 6S Plus, and my new iPhone 7 Plus. Live view on my iPhone/iPad is slow, really slow. I understand there being a little lag between changes in the camera and changes to the display but it's more than just lag. The live view operates at an extremely slow frame rate that it's difficult to setup shots. I'm talking about 5fps, maybe 6fps at most. It's impossible to take a picture of anything fast moving. I also can't really adjust my camera's settings from the app. All I can do is select an area to focus on and take a picture. It's a lot to go through just for two things. An IR remote is going to perform better than this. I also have a hard time downloading pictures. My D3300 shoots 24.2 12-bit RAW pictures. iOS works with them, I made sure of that. But the pictures often take 3-4 minutes each to import them onto my iPhone/iPad and after that some of they might not display anything. It's a lot easier and faster to just pop the memory card out of the camera and insert it into a PC and/or the Lightning to SD card adapter (if you really want to use an iOS device). I would have returned this if I outright purchased it. Instead, the wi-fi adapter was bundled with my camera for free. It hasn't impressed me but at least I'm not having to return it for my $50 back. It's performance might be better on a higher end Nikon or the problems could be with the iOS app. I haven't tried it on Android but I don't see how it could be all that different.

I love this adapter. I take several pictures and it saves so much time having this adapter that enables my pictures to be transferred to my iPad. I wouldn't do without it!

I received my NIkon 3200 camera during Christmas. I wanted to get the WU-1A attachment for it that would allow me to upload pictures via my smartphone. The issue was the attachment did not always connect for some reason. Some times the pictures did not upload and when they did they uploaded to the portal. So when the attachment was removed from the camera, the photos were no longer available for viewing. Why do I need to see my pictures while my camera is on? I wanted to be able to send the pictures to someone or upload to FB or something and I was not able to do that. The best alternative is the WiFI SD card. The pictures will upload to where you want them and you will be able to send them out using whatever portal.

Extremely convenient when transferring pics from camera to mobile. It avoids having to connect a cord to a computer then emailing them to yourself.

Make sure you have a Nikon model that is wifi capable otherwise you won't be able to use it. I have a mode d3100 so this product won't work.

It works fine for about 5 pictures at a time. If you have been out all day shooting pictures, good luck. I got to use with iPad, I would suggest saving your money and just by a card reader at about half the price and plug into the iPad.
