Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Z 30 camera for its impressive image quality, especially in low light conditions, and its lightweight design, making it convenient for travel. The camera's user-friendly interface and easy operation are also praised. However, some users have expressed concerns about the lack of a built-in flash and viewfinder, as well as the relatively short battery life, particularly when recording videos.

Great camera and beautiful photos even with a downside for some because of no built in flash and no view finder. I love the build and feel of the camera.

This little camera is surprising to say the least. The screen on the camera is sufficient, but seeing the images, the camera takes on a computer or an iPad is far more stunning. This is a wonderful camera.

4k is great for all those streamers or content creators just remember you need to keep it plugged in via USB C for it to not turn off unless you actually recording on camera but if you're recording on a PC it needs to be plugged in otherwise it will go in power saving mode

This little camera works quite well. Bought for my wife to take videos and photos for her trip to Galapagos Islands and tested it out on a football game last Friday night using my Z_70-200-f2.8 lens. Images are clear, bright, and sharp. The two lens kit covers a very wide zoom range and the high-ISO performance of the sensor makes up for the smaller max f-stops. The VR (vibration reduction) system makes it easy to hand hold at long telephoto shots.

Not sure what that classify as an expert review, but im a professional photographer and filmmaker, with over 20 years of camera experience. Picked this up as an inexpensive, light weight travel camera for when i dont want to carry heavy gear, or risk damage to my expensive gear (my cheapest lens for my go to camera, costs more than this whole kit). But thats the point. So, expectations were very very low. Just wanted a basic, easy, light camera that delivered better results than a cellphone. I used nikons back in dslr days, so i figured I'd give this a shot. So... Pluses: Very light, small, and simple. All of which make it a decent little travel camera for personal use. Kit lens is actually ok. Allows for High Speed Shutter strobe shooting. Auto focus is decent in video, but not comparable to leading brands. Negatives... Short battery life. No charger included, and charging via the included usb cable takes a very long time (Nikons website states 7 hours 40 min). Camera can take pictures while plugged in but not video, which is kinda ridiculous, especially since Nikon actually advertises that as a feature (maybe it can be used for video while plugged in with the additional cable nikon offers for sale). Very cheap feeling (but that does make it light weight). So... If you want a lightweight, small camera with a decent grip that can actually produce decent results, and thats your priority, this definitely fits the bill and is fairly inexpensive for what it offers. If you buy one, buy a second battery. Im on the fence about this camera. Its very very good, but not great. I'm definitely spoiled by the capability of my pro gear. High speed shutter flash capability (which i tested), is amazing considering this is basically an entry level camera aimed toward vlogging. But, no focus light. Battery life is short. That is a negative for travel especially, and with charging taking so long, that can definitely be a deal breaker. Im not a hige sony fan, but i can definitely say from experience that an a 6300 or newer offers more bang for the buck, even at slightly higher price points. If i purchased from Amazon, I'd probably return, soley due to no focus light, and very poor battery life and crazy long charge times. But, i purchased from Best Buy, and their restocking fees are so high, that it makes me debate returning... i mean i could trade in as used on websites and get the exact same cash back to me as if i return to BB after using a couple days, which is insane. But my fault for buying at Best Buy. Final thoughts... A great starter camera if you want to grow with the Nikon Z system. A very light weight easy camera for the casual user. Very decent and simple for someone starting out vlogging, but a headphone jack would be nice for that to check audio levels. Auto focus is very person, eye, pet etc orientated, but very hit or miss on objects (example: i tried using to film myself playing keyboard. And it kept refocusing between my hands and the keys). But when i set it up across the room and played guitar. It stayed focused on me perfectly. If you are an experienced photographer/videographer, you can get a lot out of this little camera, if you understand its limitations and work around them. Its also insanely light for smaller gimbals.

I picked this camera up as a lightweight travel camera to carry when I don't want to lug around the heavy artillery (I also own a Nikon Z7ii, which I LOVE). It produces decent images, although to me the lack of a viewfinder is more of an annoyance than I thought it'd be. Also, the image quality is less than I expected from a Nikon. I've been a Nikon user for 12 years, having owned two crop-sensor DSLRs and now four mirrorless models. I'm sorry to say I was a little underwhelmed with this one. I imagine it is great for video shooters, but I'm primarily a still photographer.

I recently purchased the Nikon Z 30 4K Mirrorless Camera 2-Lens Kit with the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm and 50-250mm lenses, and I have been incredibly impressed with its performance and features. First and foremost, the image quality produced by this camera is outstanding. The 20.9-megapixel sensor delivers crisp, detailed images with vibrant colors and excellent dynamic range. The ability to shoot in 4K further enhances the visual experience, allowing for stunning video capture with incredible clarity. The two lenses included in the kit cover a versatile range, from wide-angle to telephoto, making it suitable for a wide variety of shooting situations. The NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm lens is perfect for everyday photography, while the NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm lens provides excellent reach for capturing distant subjects with precision. One of the standout features of the Nikon Z 30 is its compact and lightweight design, making it easy to carry around for extended periods without causing fatigue. The intuitive touchscreen interface is user-friendly and allows for quick and easy access to settings and controls, ensuring a seamless shooting experience. Additionally, the camera's autofocus system is fast and accurate, locking onto subjects with ease, even in challenging lighting conditions. The in-body image stabilization further enhances the camera's performance, allowing for sharp images and steady video footage, even when shooting handheld. Overall, the Nikon Z 30 4K Mirrorless Camera 2-Lens Kit offers excellent value for both beginners and enthusiasts looking to step up their photography game. With its impressive image quality, versatile lens options, and compact design, this camera is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to capture high-quality photos and videos. I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a reliable and capable mirrorless camera kit.

Great camera. Images are sharp and colorful. The menu is familiar if you’ve used Nikon before. My only gripe is the lack of a viewfinder, it can be difficult to frame a shot in bright light.

I bought this camera as it was recommended to me by a sales associate that also takes professional photos in his spare time. The camera is easy to use and if you have any difficulties there are several videos on YouTube with a step by step guide on how to use this particular camera. It has a long battery life and is easy and light to pack on the go. Would definitely recommend this camera for new photographers as well :)

Excellent, easy to use camera with the quality images, video, and functions I need. Able to take stock quality pictures right out of the box. My husband and I got this camera to use for professional family pictures and for work, taking pictures and videos of dogs. The built-in pet tracking (dogs), high-res and slow motion videos, and burst captures are essential to getting the results I need for uncooperative or always moving targets (both dogs and cats). Would recommend.
