Customers often highlight the excellent camera quality, ease of use, and lightweight, compact design of the Z50 Mirrorless Camera. Many appreciate its affordability and comfortable grip. However, some users express concerns about the battery life and the use of a micro USB port instead of a USB-C port. The included lenses are also frequently praised.

Great Mirrorless Camera

I bought this camera to replace my Nikon D7200 and I’ve not regretted this choice yet. The Z50 is a great beginner mirrorless camera (I.e. good entry level camera). The Z50 is much lighter (to be expected since it’s mirrorless) than the D7200. The kit lenses are at least functional, even if they aren’t prime lenses. But I also bought an adapter at the same time so I can use the lenses I used to use with the D7200. The preview is nearly the same as the actual final shot which helps with adjusting exposure and lighting. I’d buy this again if I need a new camera, but I hope to have the money to buy the Z5 or Z6 in the future.

Great camera. especially if you ain't a pro (some say it's good for professionals as well) and on a tight budget, it has all the tricks up it's sleeve. One star less just for the snap bridge app from Nikon. You have to download all the images before you can share...

I researched digital cameras for months before purchasing one. I was an cell phone camera enthusiast and wanted something better than an entry level camera. This camera is all that and more. This camera is easy to use. I take a lot of landscape, sunset and sunrise pictures and this camera works great. With the quick burst rate I was able to get some really nice pictures of the waves coming in off the gulf. The lenses that come with the the camera are great to start with.

I bought this camera to advance from ‘point and shoot’, the automatic mode is available, but now I can choose Shutter priority mode and other modes for more control while learning how to. Nikon Digitutor was very helpful over the phone for my beginner questions. This camera gives me the ability to shoot Raw or JPEG, I didn’t know the difference before. I can transfer JPeg images to my phone and transfer Raw to my laptop for processing. I am happy with my new camera because it is easy to use now and provides what I need to grow beyond point and shoot.

Wasn’t sure if I would be able to get great pictures I never had this type of camera. I took the camera Yellowstone people thought some pictures were paintings. That say a lot. I also dropped it no damage. Love this camera

Overall, I would say that this is a solid product. I like how the camera feels. I also like the quality of the photos. I’m new to photography and still learning on how to adjust the settings. The menu has a TON of options, that it can get confusing when you’re first navigating through it. Also, it was a little awkward flipping the screen to take a selfie. I would rather get my phone out for selfies. However, I am still satisfied with my purchase. It’s intuitive enough for a beginner and also not too expensive when compared to others out there.

Excellent camera. I have used Nikon cameras since 1971 and have always been satisfied with their performance. This is the first mirrorless that I have used and I am impressed with the ability to preview the shot on the EVF or rear screen. Being able to see how the actual photo will look is a big help to me. I am satisfied with the two lenses but wish they were a bit faster so I can blur a background. However, using the FTZ adaptor I am able to use my older Nikon glass and that has given me more flexibility to use the right lens for the shot. All in all, I would make this purchase, again.

The Z50 w/ these kits lenses is a nice package!

If you get the Z50, make sure you get the kit w/ both lenses. Because these lenses are MADE for this camera body.
The clarity / sharpness of the images is amazing. And the lenses are very lightweight. To get both these lenses for only an additional couple hundred bucks (kit on sale $1099)...that's a no-brainer.
My only complaint would be that the 50-250 lens should come with a lens hood. I was able to get an aftermarket hood for $10, so not a huge issue, but worth noting.
Overall, that's a lot of bang for the buck. Here's a few samples!

I purchase this camera to be one of a few that I need to start my business youtube channel, and I've been testing it for that and it works outstanding.
I have a Samsung note 9 and the snapbridge works flawless for it. I was a bit disappointed when Ibsaw the box saying it's made to work with apple devices but I guess from the previous reviewer it doesn't work for iPhone.
The lenses are like all mirrorless camera lenses you have to dial in focus manually but it's very easy. There's no manual focus but like I said it's fun to adjust.
Touch screen and menu are a breeze to learn but Ibdont even use the touchscreen I find it more easy doing manually plus it gives me a feeling I have a camera not a smart phone or tablet device.

When a fatal mirror failure downed my 13 year old DSLR, the new mirrorless offerings held great appeal. I chose the Z50 with the 16-50 and 50-250 kit lenses, along with the new FTZ-II adapter for my older lenses. Everything works flawlessly, and I especially appreciate the lighter weight of my new gear. The quality is excellent, too. Though the kit was decent value, the adapter seemed overpriced.

I’m new to photography, and the Z50 was my first nicer camera. I’m a zookeeper and avid birder, and was looking for something to mainly use for wildlife photography. I’ve only used it a handful of times, and from what I’ve experienced, it seems to be capable of taking decent pictures. It’s smaller size is convenient for travel and makes it easier to to carry on longer hikes. The eye autofocus feature is very cool, and I like how fast the autofocus continuous setting is able to lock on to subjects. My only complaints are that the battery life could be better, and I wish is was fully waterproof.

Havent bought a camera since 2004. Being a new player with this type of equipment and price, its awesome. Battery life last, i bought an extra battery for any type of emergency. But i love it, evenr a year later I use it and its with me everyday. Adobe cloud offers great apps to help adjusy any needs to your photos. Any newbie I highly recommend. Original purchase for travels to Italy, Greece and Croatia and it has met my contentment to hits fullest for what I needed it and enjoy now as my hobby with photography.
