It is a big change from an optical view finder. The learning curve was steep considering I had 1 day to learn this camera before my next session. My previous camera was a D750. It was having shutter and focus issues, so I purchased this upgrade so I could fulfill my impending sessions. I ended up going back and forth between the 2 cameras for a week before I learned enough about this one to make the full switch. Pros: I love the quietness of this camera. It is much lighter as well. Larger file size. Great focusing (when you nail focus). Cons: Focusing is slow. It makes it difficult to get great images of children who move fast. Digital view finder is not intuitive when using strobes.

I purchased this camera after buying a D850, essentially for its video capabilities when used on a gimbal. Note, use Z-Mount lenses for video as the F-Mount lenses with the FTZ adapter will make noise. This is also an excellent camera for entry level photographers that want to shoot in Auto.

Great camera. Faster than an SLR, and does well in low light. I rated 4 stars as I have not yet used the camera extensively, and am not completely comfortable with all the functionality.

Very good camera even though it is pricy. Needs better dust sealing on the body and lens. Dust on the sensor is a nightmare to clean. Seems to get dusty easily. This is not grand dads camera, more complicated!

I love the new full frame mirror less camera. It is very light compared to my other Nikon, a D750. The high ISO with less grain is another wonderful feature. I recommend this camera to any advanced hobbies or professional.

I've used it a few times already and it is beyond worth it. I already have the Z6 and wanted the upgrade. I'm excited about the ability I will have to print even bigger. Great work Nikon!

I just finished shooting an indoor reception. The low light performance of this camera far exceeds my expectations, performed better than my D850. Well worth the money!

Offers everything that you could possibly ask for from a digital camera. The only limitation is in the using non-Z lenses, in that it limits the camera's capacity to 19.4mp.
