I'm not really big on smoothies - I'll accept an occasional Jamba Juice smoothie of just strawberry bananas, very basic, as trying other things at JJ upset my stomach. I don't have a lot of kitchen space, but when I saw this tiny footprint, I decided - why not? I ordered the basic ingredients I found online: frozen strawberries, frozen banana slices, low fat milk, and plain Greek yogurt. I used 1 cup of each, pushed the smoothie IQ button and 55 seconds (I should point out - it is VERY loud!) later, it was done! I unscrewed the blender cap, added the straw and lid - and then started drinking and to my surprise - tastes just like JJ's version! Well, again, the basic drink I would grab. I’ve never owned a blender or was a fan of smoothies, but this product has made me a fan of both! I have found a product called Blender Bites with pre-set pucks you just drop in, add water/juice and just blend, it’s great! I’m now just trying a bunch of different types of frozen fruit blends to try for a healthy breakfast or afternoon snack! My only concern is using it at night, as it's loud. During the day it's not as noticeable, but when I use it at night and it's quiet, it's super loud! With that said, I've never owned a blender, so this might be "normal" blender noise level. Pros: Small footprint Less than 1 minute to finish pre-programs- super fast! Easy to clean Different color versions! The blender is also a tumbler to go Cons: It’s loud - but also might be "normal" blender noise levels The lightweight base sometimes “jumps” which i thought was weird as the whole thing shifted like 2 cms. Not entirely concerning, but it makes me feel like I cannot walk away from it - and it’s only 55 seconds so you shouldn’t want to have to. There are 2 little suction cup feet that should prevent the hops, but on my particular counter - the suction cups don’t really work (more of my issue)

It’s been a few years since I last tried one of the “tumbler” blenders - basically a blender that is clearly meant for a single serve smoothie or protein drink that you make directly in the tumbler you then drink out of. And WOW have they advanced - this one is so much more powerful and easier to use than the last one I tried. The blender base itself is small and blends in seemlessly to my kitchen, but it’s VERY powerful, crushing ice cubes and fruit like it’s not even there. Setup was very easy - of course I washed the tumbler, lid, straw and blender blade unit, but after that, you just plug in the base, add your ingredients to the tumbler (make sure to include a decent amount of liquid with the solids unless you want a puree vs a smoothie), screw on the blade unit and you’re ready to go. The tumble locks (upside down) on the base unit quickly and easily but also very securely and the base has several settings that roughly equate to time/power combinations. It’s basically one touch though you can also use the pulse button to manually control the blend if you prefer. Smoothies come out very nicely with a good consistency and fairly well mixed and the included straw is a nice touch as it’s quite wide if you want a thicker smoothie. Once you’re done blending, you simply swap the blender blade unit for the tumbler lid and optionally the straw and you’re ready to go. The whole setup cleans quite easily and is even fairly quiet - for a blender at least - to boot. And it’s clearly built with the quality that Ninja is known for so it should last quite a while. So if you’re in the market for a blender that is MOSTLY for single person smoothies and protein drinks, this is a great option (and it can sometimes be used for other blending as well). If that sounds good to you, give this one a try today!

Not too long ago, I began bringing powdered meal replacement and protein shakes to work. I was looking to limit overeating and calorie intake while in the office, so I decided that having dedicated shakes throughout the day would help me accomplish my goals. Protein shakes mix easily in a shaker bottle, but I was having issues with the denser meal replacement shakes mixing in normal shaker bottles. They simply work better with a blender. I was not going to bring my full size Ninja blender to the office with me a couple days a week, but I soon found this product and decided to give it a try. The mug looks like any other typical mug, so it doesn't stand out in an office environment. The blender base is compact enough to throw in my laptop backpack, or store in my desk drawer in the office. It is surprisingly powerful and makes quick work of my meal replacement shakes at lunch time. I usually use the regular Blend mode for around 10-15 seconds, and my shake comes out perfectly smooth and mixed. Then when I'm done, I rinse the mug and lid out in hot water and it's ready for the next shake. This compact blender solution was a great idea for when a quick drink needs to be made, but it's too inconvenient to use a full size blender.

I had been looking for a versatile and attractive mixing container combined tumbler that I could just use and go. This certainly fit the bill. The product was easy to pre-clean and set up and I tried a few different recipes over the past few days. It crushes ice and chops vegetables and fruit into a very smooth consistency. The tumbler is a good size for travel and packing in a backpack. Although not expressly insulated it does seem to keep the smoothies or blended protein drinks cool enough. After use, it rinses very clean and assembly and disassembly is easy. The size of the base is very nice and was easy to store - it almost fit in a drawer, but was a bit too tall. It does slip nicely into the cupboard and also into a backpack - for taking to work. The design looks great, certainly an upgrade from older styyle utilitarian units. The cord is long enough but not so long that it is a haslle to store or wrap up. So, whether you are looking for a powerful smoothie maker or just a good quality drink mixer, this is certainly a very nice option.

The Ninja BlendBoss Tumbler Blender has totally evolved my protein smoothie game! For the longest time I have struggled with right sizing my smoothies to fit in my tumbler from the blender. Now I have one device to replace both of those! I love that I can drop in my icewater, bananas, and protein power, then press a button and walk away. Less than a minute later I have a perfect smoothie every time! This will save me so much time, and allow me to get out the door a little faster every day. A quick swap of the blender lid to the travel lid and you are off! This device is also very portable! I will be able to take this with me when I travel and never miss out on a healthy meal! The build quality on this device is also amazing! The suction cups on the bottom do an amazing job of holding everything in place during the intense blending sessions. Clean up is also a breeze, a few pulses on the blender with water in the tumbler and everything is good as new. If you are looking for a faster way to make your favorite smoothies, then look no further!

I'm coming from a vitamix and have not previously tried the nutri bullet or other personal blenders - overall the category has looked cheap to me, especially compared to the beefy vitamix that has worked amazing for almost 15 years now with now sign of slowing down. I really liked the form factor of this blender though, the vitamix is a monster that is a pain to get out and setup everytime my wife or I want a smoothie and that really limits how often it gets used beyond large batches of frozen drinks for parties. This is a a world of difference better! The tumbler feels durable and sturdy, the measuring lines are easy to follow without being aesthetically ugly on your work desk. I found it easy to throw some yogurt frozen fruit and vegies in, lock the lid and flip over. The one touch smoothie setting does a great job "set it and go" - blending the smoothie in to a unfirom and satisfying consistency. Additional tumblers can be purchases for $40, and everyting is dishwasher safe - my wife and i can each make a tailored smoothie each morning and throw everything in the dishwasher for the next day, the base in small enough that it stores easy in our tiny kitchen and the tumblers themselves take up no more room that a Stanley. This is a fantastic blender for most uses!

The Ninja Blendboss Blender is a small yet potent appliance. It features a design allowing the blade assembly to be removed and attached to the motor unit in an inverted position. While it’s quite user-friendly, for safety reasons, you should look over the provided instructions. Be cautious with kitchen devices that present a hazard: keep children away from this appliance, even if supervised. It’s easy to see how someone not paying attention could cut themselves with the blade unit.  The base unit’s suction is located at the bottom to prevent movement. To detach it, draw it closer, as the front rubber suction cups are larger than the rear one.  When using the inverted cup, add liquid first, then soft ingredients, and finally frozen items to be near the blade. Ensure ingredients do not go above the maximum fill line. After that, put the blade unit on and twist it firmly. Next, invert the entire object by its handle and rotate it clockwise, ensuring the dots line up beforehand. Blend, smoothie, ice crush, and pulse are the functions of the front control buttons. The first smoothie I made with Blend was over-blended. It liquefied all the ingredients: banana, milk, strawberry, smoothie powder, and ice. Delicious, yet I went overboard. Despite using the smoothie setting on my Second Cup, I find the result slightly overdone for my liking. Pressing the button again will cease the function before its nearly one-minute programmed time is up. The pulse button operates when pressed and stops when released.  The LED light at the bottom indicates processing status when using the first three buttons. It functions like a progress bar. The step represents 20% of the progress.  After completion, gently unscrew the unit, remove and rinse the blade to avoid residue, and then store it safely. Pour the liquid into your bowl or cups, or whatever you were planning to use. Alternatively, swap the blending unit for the separate lid and drink from the small opening at the front, or use the silicone straw. The item will ascend upon lid opening and descend smoothly when the lid is shut. I do not personally use this. My routine is to pour it in a mug and then enjoy my smoothie.  After using it for a few days, I can confirm it performs well if the directions are followed precisely. Just to be clear, this is not a toy, and children must be under strict supervision to use it. Is it worth purchasing? It’s a bit more expensive than my usual blender budget, but the convenience factor is high. You can mix and then immediately take the container, no need to transfer it.  You can purchase an additional tumbler with a straw for approximately $40.  In all fairness, if your budget allows, then yes, but I will say that a normal blender is just as good.

    Great compact Blender

The Ninja BlendBoss is a very nice compact blender. It does not take up much counter space so it is ideal for small kitchens. It has powerful suction cups that hold it in place. The device has you load from the bottom so whether or not you like this device, might depend in how you use your blender. I found this somewhat difficult since when I make smoothies I gradually add items making sure that the protein powder gets well blended. For this device, I just added everything at once and then attached it to blend. It has a powerful blending ability so this worked for me and could be a time saver. I mainly use a blender for smoothies but this would also be great for chopping soup ingredients or making salad dressings or sauces. It comes with a travel lid and straw. It is well labeled with instructions for the 3 different speeds and has Auto-IQ that uses timed blending and pauses for your food. It was really easy to wash since the bottom comes unattached so it is easier cleaning this than my other blender.
