Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the Coffee Bar 1-Cup Coffee Maker's coffee quality, ease of use, and the included frother. Many appreciate its simple design and the reusable filter, which eliminates the need for disposable filters. However, some customers find the size of the machine and the cleaning process to be less than ideal. The water reservoir size is also a point of contention for some users.

Versatile machine!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coffee lover here! Owner of multiple single serve, espresso and carafe type machines. I give this machine a 4.5 and here is why. The Ninja Coffee Bar is versatile because it allows for the serving of one person or multiple if you use a large cup. In an age of convenience, when the trend is to go towards pods based machines, this Ninja brings a refreshing taste to the coffee lover without compromising time. The machine takes approximately 3 mins to warm the water and then it brews the coffee relatively quickly. There are multiple modes of brewing depending on how strong (or weak) you like your coffee. The machine is absolutely easy to disassemble and clean which is a plus. The biggest size brew it allows for is 18 Oz and from my measurement, you could fit an 8.25 in cup fully standing under the brewer. The machine has a frother on the side. I wish it had a hot frothing mechanism but that isn't as m7ch of a big deal to me personally. The Ninja came with a two sided measuring scoop to take the guesswork away from how much to put in. I received this machine at no cost in exchange for an honest review and I gotta say I'm very satisfied. My coffee has come out bold and rich and I do not miss the pod taste of some other machines out there. I recommend it.

Excellent choice for a single serve coffeemaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had the new Ninja Coffee Bar for about a week now and my family is very pleased with it, especially my oldest daughter who is a bit of a coffee connoisseur. So I let her lead the way in reviewing our newest coffee making appliance. What follows is her expert assessment: First, I need to tell you that our home has a high-end Reverse Osmosis water filtration system equipped with a re-mineralizer filter that adds back certain minerals needed for perfectly pH balanced drinking water. The water flavor is so astoundingly good that guests comment on it. So of course my testing of the Ninja Coffee Bar system was based on using this re-mineralized RO water. Your mileage may vary, as they say. The Ninja Coffee Bar is an extremely versatile, countertop, coffee making system that saves time and money without comprising taste. It features a patented technology called Thermal Flavor Extraction, which claims to unlock the full flavor potential of the coffee by blending precision water delivery with temperature calibration, pre-infusion, and saturation. I found that this brewing technology does yield a surprisingly satisfying flavor from regular ground coffee beans, allowing you to make yourself coffee-house type drinks at home for a fraction of the cost. The Ninja also has a wide variety of options for strength, size, brew type, etc. In my testing, I had a very good to excellent cup of coffee every time. Unboxing and setting up The Ninja Coffee Bar was quick and simple. The box contained the brewer machine, flip-top removable water reservoir and lid, premium permanent filter, brew basket, removable filter holder, frother wisk, measuring scoop, recipe book, and instruction manuals. Assembly was as simple as removing packaging tape from the moveable parts of the machine and plugging it in. When the machine was fully assembled, it fit nicely on the counter in a space the size of an everyday coffee maker. The Ninja Coffee Bar has five different brew strengths: Classic, Rich, Over Ice, Specialty, and Cafe Forte and four different sizes: Cup (9.5 oz), XL Cup (11.5 oz), Travel mug (14 oz), and Multi Serve (18 oz). After cleaning and assembly, I filled the water reservoir with RO water and tested each of the brew strength settings using 2 small scoops of medium ground, Eight O-Clock brand coffee that you can pick up at most any grocer. The weakest brew strength setting is the Classic Brew setting and it yielded a cup of coffee that was full flavored and well balanced. I was very surprised at the amount of flavor extracted from just 2 small scoops of coffee grounds. The next setting I tested was Rich Brew and it made a strong and rich cup of coffee without any bitterness. The Over Ice setting was only slightly stronger than the Rich Brew setting, and it seemed to taste a little watered down when brewed over the ice. As with any coffee maker you can vary the quantity of grounds to suit your taste. The Specialty Brew setting was rich and strong. The flavor was similar to espresso, but it lacked the velvety texture and complexity. However, when I added frothed milk to the specialty brew it did have the flavor of a coffee-house drink. The brew strength of the Cafe Forte brew setting was similar to the Specialty Brew setting. Once again, the brew strength can be intensified by adding extra grounds before choosing the brew strength setting. Next, I tried the milk frother wand. The wand was easy to attach, but it's performance was lack-luster. The wand was weak causing it to take twice as long as instructed to froth the milk. Ninja engineers might want to redesign the frother wand so that its quality and performance matches the rest of the machine. The Ninja Coffee Bar has several design features that I love. The reusable filter, basket, wand, and scoop were all easily rinsed clean after they were used. There is a recessed area and a peg on the side of the machine for storing the measuring scoop. I love this feature because it keeps the scoop clean and from being lost in overfilled kitchen drawers. I also like that the water tank has pre-measured lines for each cup size, allowing me the option to measure out the exact amount of water I need. The machine also has a convenient no-drip switch and fold down cup platform. It preheats in 3 minutes and brews quickly without sacrificing flavor. Overall this machine makes a surprisingly unexpected coffee-house type drink from a small amount of simple ground coffee. I highly recommend.

Not all it's hyped up to be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sorry, but I was really disappointed. It is messy. It requires cleaning after EVERY cup if you use the single cup feature. Just generally not suitable for me.

Good but lacking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a good coffee maker overall with a lot of good features but it waters down the coffee to much. Not enough adjustment for how much it makes.

Decent single serve coffee maker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker has some decent qualities. But if you're really looking to make Starbuck's style drinks, you'll be left wanting. The specialty drink functions don't really make for Espresso style coffee. There is no "bold" taste that you'll find in a decent espresso machine if that is what you're looking for. If just for coffee, its good. I wouldn't say "great".

Great, very versatile coffee brewer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja Coffee Bar- Single Serve As a gadget geek, I was very excited to receive the newest Ninja single-serve Coffee Bar. It is a very different animal than our other pod-based coffee maker. I like the fact that it can make several different sizes of cups, and it also uses standard ground coffee, so you can adjust the strength of the drink. The water container holds enough for several cups of coffee, so it doesn’t need to be filled each time. It has adjustments that change from Classic Brew, to Rich Brew, to Over Ice Brew. It also has settings for concentrated brewing for specialty drinks and something they call “Café Forte”. The coolest feature is a swing-out arm with a frother for your milk. This lets you make specialty drinks like Lattes. There are some features that I still haven’t used. And I have spent more time with the owner’s manual than for any gadget in recent memory. Finally, as a non-coffee drinker, I have to rely on the opinions of my family to tell me how good the coffees taste. We recently made several extra strength decaffeinated cups for my in-laws, and they loved the flavor. Everyone that I have made coffee for so far has loved it, so I can highly recommend this Ninja Coffee Bar.

a very good single serve coffee maker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Ninja Single serve coffee bar as part of the Best Buy tech insider network. I am an avid coffee drinker, although not a cold coffee drinker, so I haven't had a chance to try out all of the features of this machine. It is a very good looking coffee maker, decked out in black and chrome. It feels very solid and has a good bit of weight, which to me helps it feel more premium. It is, however, made mostly of a plastic material. It comes with an instruction guide, and more importantly a recipe booklet that contains recipes for 40 different hot and cold coffees users can try out. The Ninja coffee maker also comes with an attachment for frothing your milk or coffee. On the front you can choose what size of cup you will be filling. It ranges from 7.5 oz to 20 oz travel cups. Also on the front are settings for taste. You can choose classic brew, rich brew and over ice brew. Below these settings are 2 more settings for specialty (concentrated) for 4 oz cup and 8oz cup. You can also preheat your water before brewing your coffee if you choose. The water reservoir is easy to access and holds somewhere around 48oz of water. I can fill my 20 oz Yeti mug twice before adding more water. The quality of the coffee from this machine is very good. The coffee maker also seems easy to use and the included recipe book can make it fun to try new coffee flavors if that is what you enjoy. it is higher than many standard coffee makers and 20 oz is the most it makes at one time, but if you are in the market for a single serve coffee maker, the Ninja coffee bar is certainly one to consider.
