I replaced my Kureig with this machine and have never looked back. I spend a lot less on coffee these days, those K cups are expensive! You don't need to use a filter as it comes with a mesh filter already. But I like using disposable filters as it speeds up the cleaning process Coffee tastes great in machine does not take up too much space on my counter

Great concept, but major flaws.

The warming plate turns off and cannot be turned back on manually for 2 hours after you change from a pot of coffe to a single cup. You are left with a pot of cold coffee. Also, the coffee runs down the carafe after pouring. Could be isolated case, but with the warming plate issue, I returned and got another coffee maker. This would be a 5 star coffee machine if not for designs issues.

If you do not clean it before use as written on the back of the machine (which is not somewhere you would look at for cleaning instructions) or else your coffee will taste like metal. I had to clean mine about two /three times (btw cleaning process takes 1 hour) because it still gave a metal taste to the coffee. But other than that it went away...
