Customers are saying

Customers value the excellent coffee quality and ease of use of the Coffee Bar Brewer with Thermal Carafe. Many appreciate the machine's attractive design and the improved coffee flavor it produces. However, some customers note the lack of a keep-warm function and find the price to be a drawback. The absence of a warming plate is a point of contention for some, while others feel the cost is too high for the features offered.

I have used filtered water, thing displays needs cleaned after 4-6 pots, used tap water, same thing. It's unfortunate that I kept hoping it would snap out of it. Unfortunately, I'm out of 200.00. Do not purchase

    Excellent Machine

This machine is fantastic! I went from a KEURIG to this machine. First, with this machine you can make 1 cup of coffee in the same amount of time as a Keurig. The difference in taste is astounding. Keurig tastes like weak coffee compared to Keurig. Second, the coffee is always blazing hot after you first make it. The stainless steel carafe keeps it hot for several hours. Its still warm after 6 hours. It makes the coffee rather fast. A full carafe makes about 4-5 cups of coffee. It only about 4 minutes to fill the carafe again. The frother is a standalone glass hand pump action device with good results. I've read the reviews. Maybe I have an updated version, because I don't see the steam or hear any loud noise coming from my machine. Unfortunately, as of yet I have not tried some of the other features like ice coffee so can't report on it. People have also complained about the grains and prefer the paper filter. I see no problem until the very end of the pot. If you need your coffee to be good to the very last drop, the paper preferred reviews would be the way to go. Otherwise, stick with the convenient gold metal filter that comes with the unit. I got this machine on sale and would say its a great buy. The temperature and taste of the coffee is an A rating by me. It would of been nice to have a cord twice the length of the one it has. So it has to be within a foot of an outlet. It would of been nice to have some place to secure the scooper on the back of the device. Those two issues are minor.

this coffee maker is great. you will soon stop buying coffee anywhere else and just make it at home. it comes with a recipe book and I have put that to use. I now have a section in my cabinet for all the different items needed to make all types of coffee. The rich flavor option takes a bit of getting used to since I haven't had a coffee taste like that before. this was a great buy

    Great product - Goofy name

I purchased this coffee maker in April of 2016; it has been a flawless product. To preface the rest of my remarks, I will state that I previously was middle management for a consumer electronics chain for almost 20 years. Reading reviews, I notice that most operational complaints arise from either not reading the manual or a metacognitive reading disability. This may also be the reason there are instructions on ‘Pop Tarts’. FFS people, it has a minimum year warranty! Two, if you purchase Geek Squad coverage. You can,in rare circumstances, get a dud. Take it back for repair, or replacement, or refund; but please just stop the whinging! The Ninja CF086, as designed, and operating within its design parameters will produce properly brewed coffee, cup after cup after cup. The extra features are a bonus and they work well. I have a closet with old Keurigs, percolators, and drip coffee makers. They only come out now for large parties as backup. The bottom line is great coffee maker - goofy name.

no need for Starbucks unless I was out and about all day. This thing is amazing and fun to try new drinks. I got this for my gf as an anniversary gift and I always insist on making it because of how easy and fun it is. The Thermal Carafe keeps coffee hot and the milk frother is amazing.

Has Potential More Work than K-Cups

    Posted .

The Ninja is sleek and great looking on the counter top (more so than the K Cup machine). It has a big reservoir for water. Love the timer on it. You can set up to brew a pot at a specific time in the morning and wake up to hot coffee. You can brew a cup, half pot or full pot of coffee. I do like to be able to brew in strengths for a more bold cup of coffee and even a iced coffee (which never worked right on my K cup machine). Coffee is much cheaper by the pound for this unit. But it is not easy. To brew a single cup of coffee you have to get a paper filter (which is recommended to ease cleanup and filter fines from the coffee), get your custom measuring spoon, make sure you have a large enough cup, change the selector to cup and brew. Then once it is complete the clean up includes dispose of the filter and grounds (if you use the extra paper filters that don't come with it) and rinse the metal filter from the machine. Having used it for a month. I do not know how the longevity of the unit will be. I hope it is better than the year you were luck to get out of the K Cup machines.

I love this system, with one exception. Do not plan on the coffee in the pot to stay warm for any length of time. However, this will only affect on me on the weekends since I do not drink but one cup a day at home during the week. The flexibility with this machine is awesome and it brews a really good cup of coffee. I can brew the 1/2 carafe on the weekend and be ok with it.

Really like the Ninja coffee system. The 4 brewing volumes fit our daily usage needs nicely, and it's really easy to go from a full carafe to a single cup. I like the single cup option much better than using our Keurig.

    Some like it hot

While I love the overall look and design of this coffee maker, it produces an unsatisfactory brewed coffee. The temperature is just not hot enough directly out of the machine immediately after brewing. I don't like the idea of having to microwave my coffee immediately after I brew it. Really too bad it doesn't heat the water hotter because I love the concept and design but....

    Cheap Poorly Engineered

I think this was rushed together for Christmas. poorly engineered. So much steam comes out of the top it would ruin the finish on my cupboards. I thought I didn't have the coffee filter housing closed right and scalded my hand when I made sure it was. Coffee gets cold before you can finish it. Doesn't make 12 cups either. Very disappointed. I returned it to the store. I'm happy with best buy though.

I drink a great amount of coffee. I wear out coffee makers and was on my third Cuisinart DGC-650and second Keurig B79, and was looking at options. I found this at my local BBuy (Abilene)at a ridiculously low sale price and took the plunge. After initial setup, I've ran whole bean, ground coffee, blends from Starbucks to actual JuanValdez® Huila from Colombia, Peets and others...if I could get coffee with an IV I would do it. I have yet to get a bad brew out of this machine. It brews with a short cycle to allow the coffee to bloom properly and maintains the correct temperature range (202 -206F) throughout the brew. It does not take up too much space, but you will want to use it on an open counter as you will have cabinet warping heat and steam, not to mention a scalding potential, coming out of the vents on the water shower housing.

    very nice

I will start by saying I have only had basic coffee machines before this. With that being said, I love the Ninja Coffee Bar. It lives up to all of the advertising in my opinion. I opted for the stainless carafe (for better insulation and longevity). The one piece of advise I would give is to use a secondary coffee filter if you don't like a tiny amount of very fine coffee at the end of each pot. It is isn't anything huge, just an fyi. The included permanent screen is a nice touch but just lets a little through. The included recipe book is a good jump start to being your own barista. I would definitely recommend a companion Ninja Blender system or Vitamix if your "thing" is frozen blended (frappiccino) style drinks.

The ninja bar provides great tasting coffee, hot or cold. The thermal cafe is a bit smaller than a normal coffee pot.
