I really wanted to like this. It does so many things. But so far I’m not impressed with how well it does any of them. First thing I tried to do was toast. I figured toast is simple enough. But it kept burning my toast - on the 1 piece lightest setting. Next I followed a recipe for chicken and pasta, but both the chicken and the pasta came out unevenly cooked with hard spots. I decided to take it back rather than try to force it.

Nutshell: adequate size, pleasant-looking design, easy-open, shortens cooking time. When this first arrived, I thought it looked like a rather small interior, but I’ve had room for cooking for two just fine. I didn’t read much of the documentation about operating and kind of dove right in with my first cooking experience after browsing a few recipes and the short guidance chart. I almost burned my first meal – it does indeed cut down on cooking time. I did fresh, naked, chicken tenders and cut Brussels sprouts. Even though things were burned on the edges, it was still edible. I was dismayed at the cleanup that looked like needed to be done, but the interior wiped out well. Nothing was stuck to the exposed heating element. Lesson learned, I read the manual before cooking again. : ) Air fryer: The air fried tater tots turned out excellently! I like mine crispy without being overdone and the Ninja Combi excelled. Combi Crisp: I did some frozen tenders and fresh green beans on the combi crisp setting and they turned out well (I forgot to toss the beans in a wee bit of oil; that would have been better). Toast: I used the toast setting for my gluten free home style bread and it did well. Second time I did toast it was a little toastier on the bottom side, but toasty all over. Combi Cook: I used the combi cook feature to do gluten free pasta on the bottom while cooking lean meatballs on the top tray. The GF pasta was a little starchier and less al dente than if I’d boiled it, but again I’m thinking I may have cooked everything too long. Once we put the sauce in and then added the meatballs, dinner was yummy – and easy. I washed off the tray quickly and while we mixed the pasta dish together, I did two slices of gluten free garlic toast on the air fry setting and that worked well, too. You must wait for it to cool before you can clean out the interior with a sponge or paper towel. I noticed that a crevice in the back needed me to push the towel down in to clean it, so I tried the steam clean feature. I needed to still push the paper towel in the crevice, but it wound up coming clean. Things I’m not so crazy about: the steam goes wide - You need to keep this well in front of your cabinets or it’s going to damage the surface with the steam that comes out at the side. The crevice at the back getting residue in it – I hope I can remember to keep that wiped out so residue doesn’t build up. The heating element is exposed – so far, it doesn’t look dirty, but I’d rather it was enclosed (but then again, maybe that’s why the air fry did so well?). I thought this would be a fun air fryer since it has other settings to use. I think I’ll like this machine. It’s been easy to operate, it’s quiet to operate, the air fryer and combi crisp are nice, and I think I’ll continue to use it for several of its cooking methods.

I love Ninja products, but this item smoked and steamed beyond my comfort level. IDK if it was normal or if it is defective. I watched so many videos, and none showed steam & smoked up house. Seems Dangerous to a cooking rookie. Can easily cause a fire.

I like the previous model but this was the next to best thing available.

Picked this up during black Friday for a good price. Found something similar from another brand for cheaper.
