Ninja does it again with one exception
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja doesn't seem to disappoint with their cookware appliances. This cooks great food and the fact that it is an all in one cooker is even better. The airfryer feature is great and works just as great as Ninja's standalone air fryer. The combi cooker is a versatile cooking tool that I've tried with steaks and as simple as vegetables. It's very easy to use. The appliance itself is very nice to look at and it has this stainless steel finish at the front with gray plastic around it. However, it's worth noting that it's just a finish and the actual product is disappointingly made with plastic. This doesn't distract that it is well made. The actual inside itself is made out of stainless and I do not believe quality is skipped out on with this Ninja product. Overall, I think it's a great product especially if you live in a small apartment or a dorm. It's very compact and the food that you can cook with this is next to endless. It comes with all that you need to start cooking so that all you need is just the food itself.

Cook Your Time in Half!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think it’s safe to say that Air Fryers are a blessing to any kitchen. They are thorough and incredibly efficient in cooking time. However, when we get accustomed to such amenities, we wish that it did more. For me, there were times when I would be preparing a pasta dish inside my previous air fryer but I would have to fire up my electric oven just to bake veggies that went with the dish. When I cook several dishes, I want everything to come out at the same time. It always feels like the majority of the large oven time goes to the preheating. It can be frustrating. That’s where the Ninja Combi Multicooker comes into play to relieve that unneeded complication. Set-Up: Upon removing the packaging from both the outside and inside, you are pretty much ready to embark on efficient cooking. There’s nothing to assemble. The Ninja Combi comes with a Bake Tray, a Combi Pan, and a Crisper Tray. Switch To What You Want: There’s a large switch on the right side of the Ninja Combi that allows you to pick from a Combo Cooker or just an Air Fryer/Stovetop setting. Both are going to free up the amount of time you spend in the kitchen. Whether you’re a novice chef or preparing a recipe that you’ve made a hundred times in the old-fashioned oven, the Ninja Combi is going to help in a big way. You’ll want to use the Combi (combo) setting for dishes that need steaming, proofing for dough, or making pasta or rice. The Combi setting is fantastic for doing pasta and meats at once. For example, I make a particular chicken and pasta dish where the pasta is cooked in the oven while the chicken is in the air fryer. With the Combi, I was able to cook the pasta in the bottom Combi Tray while the chicken was on the above Bake Tray. Both are being done simultaneously! I know that it might not sound like a big deal to some but when you get it, you get it. There are A LOT of options when it comes to using the Combi setting. Too many for me to list for a simple review. That said, you won’t feel overwhelmed since there’s an easy-to-follow chart included in the instructions/recipe book. Before you know it, you’ll be committing the settings to memory. The Combi is also an Air Fryer that uses the Crisp Tray to cook fries, salmon, and whatever else you can think of to air fry. Here’s a bonus feature for someone like myself, it has a PIZZA setting! Yes, I can finally cook a 12-inch frozen pizza inside of an air fryer oven whereas previously, I had to preheat the big oven and bake the pizza in it. The Combi preheats (takes far less time compared to a normal oven) and then it automatically sets a timer and bakes the pizza. I’m not going to lie; I will be using this Combi Oven to bake a quick batch of cookies this winter for those sudden cravings instead of using the giant oven. So Many Possibilities: There’s a quick reference guide in the back of the Inspiration Guide that comes with the Ninja Combi that tells you how long to bake a whole chicken, tenderloins, fish, roast beef, desserts, etc. Once you’re familiar with this cooker, you’re going to impress yourself and the people you’re cooking for.

So many options!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review for Ninja Combi™ All-in-One Multicooker, Oven, & Air Fryer When I got this new Combi oven from Ninja, I thought it would be great to replace several counter-top appliances that I use less frequently for one that could do all of the same things. It’s really perfect if you like your air-fryer (but don’t use it all the time), or have a toaster oven that you mostly use for weekend brunch, or a slow-cooker that you haul out for weekday stews, or you need to cook for a small crowd frequently — or all of the above! I really like the switch on the top that toggles between the two basic modes. This helps limit the options and makes it easier to use. I tried the tacos recipe for a small gathering last weekend and found it so convenient for cooking while entertaining. I hate spending all my time in the kitchen while my guests are having a good time without me! I made the rice and beans in the lower pan while the upper pan took care of the meat and veggies. Everything came out great, and for a change, everyone gathered in the kitchen to see how the oven worked. It was a great test as well as as a conversation starter. Like many people, I’m trying to be more conscious of the amount of energy I use, and this oven is smaller than my kitchen range’s and yet big enough to manage a good-sized meal for four or more people. I found it very useful for a Sunday brunch when I wanted to make a quiche and bunch of toast. There are a few features, like “proof” and “sauté” that I’m looking forward to trying. I love baking bread, but don’t have a dependable way to let it rise, short of using my oven with the door propped open, so this could be great. Also, I like the idea of being able to sauté meat and then continue cooking my recipe in the oven, without extra dirty pans.

Truly all in one!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Combi All-in-One Multicooker, Oven, & Air Fryer is a versatile kitchen appliance that has truly revolutionized my cooking experience. With its sleek design and compact footprint, it seamlessly fits into any kitchen, making it a must-have for busy home cooks like me. One of the standout features of this appliance is its multifunctionality. It combines the functionalities of a multicooker, oven, and air fryer all in one, which means it can handle a wide range of cooking tasks. Whether you want to slow cook a hearty stew, bake a batch of cookies, or air fry some crispy chicken wings, the Ninja Combi has got you covered. This versatility is a game-changer in the kitchen, saving both time and countertop space. The cooking performance of this appliance is impressive. The oven function heats up quickly and maintains an even temperature, ensuring that your baked goods come out perfectly golden brown. The multicooker function offers a variety of cooking modes, including sear/sauté, steam, and slow cook, allowing you to prepare a wide array of dishes with ease. And the air fryer function delivers that coveted crispy texture with minimal oil, making healthier versions of your favorite fried foods. The Ninja Combi is incredibly user-friendly. The digital control panel is intuitive, and the preset cooking programs take the guesswork out of meal preparation. Additionally, the included recipe book provides a range of delicious recipes to get you started, making it ideal for beginners and experienced cooks alike. Cleaning is a breeze thanks to the non-stick surfaces and removable accessories. The crumb tray, air frying basket, and cooking pot are all dishwasher safe, making post-cooking cleanup hassle-free. One minor drawback is that the Ninja Combi can be a bit noisy, especially when using the air fryer function at higher temperatures. However, the excellent results it delivers make this a minor inconvenience. In conclusion, the Ninja Combi All-in-One Multicooker, Oven, & Air Fryer is a versatile and efficient kitchen appliance that has elevated my cooking game. Its multifunctionality, reliable performance, and user-friendly design make it a valuable addition to any kitchen. Whether you're a busy parent, a culinary enthusiast, or someone looking to simplify their cooking routine, the Ninja Combi is well worth the investment. It has certainly become a staple in my kitchen, and I can't recommend it enough.

Ninja Does It Best!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several Ninja products in our home and we LOVE the brand. It seems no matter what you purchase from Ninja, two things are always certain, it will be well made and designed for beauty and simplicity. This Ninja Combi is no exception. Ninja is one of those companies that take packing their product to the next level. This came in a box that had some damage to it, and I always fear that the product upon opening it will have damage, but Ninja package this air fryer/combi to w/ stand the roughest shipping in the world. Ninja says that this is a 14-1 cooker, I have only used it to air-fry, bake, and steam, and it does each of those to perfection. I’ve several different air-fryers but this has to be the cream of the crop. It is not to big, in fact its just the right size to sit on our countertop and under the upper cabinets and still have some clearance room. So don’t concern yourself about the size, it’s perfect. As far as the food that you can cook w/ this Ninja Combi, it’s endless. They include a recipe book and I tried a few and they turned out great. The food is cooked throughout and it really holds in the moisture of both pork and chicken. I was afraid it would dry out our thick cut pork chops but it didn’t. I love the “handle” if that’s what you call it that switches it from air fry/bake, etc. to Combi cooked foods. They are amazing. You receive several attachments w/ this Ninja Combi, that makes cooking simple. We have been experiencing some very hot days here in Virginia and my wife did not want to turn on the oven to cook, so we popped it (homemade pizza) into the Ninja Combi, and it was soooo good. The crust was just right and the toppings were cooked to perfection. This will really change how we cook. Our son has gone off to college and my wife and I are empty nesters, and this really, again, changes how we will cook. It’s just the right size for meals for two, but when our son comes home and our oldest w/ his family it will be a great tool to have, especially for quick foods for our grandchildren. We made frozen French fries and they were better than most restaurants out there. The outside were crispy, but the inside were tender. They were perfect. I truly have nothing bad to say about this Ninja Combi 14 in 1 Cooker, its not an air-fryer in the sense you think of air-fryers, this can do so much more. If you are in the market for a great counter top cooker, look no further than the Ninja Combi. I HIGHLY recommend it

It earned its place on my countertop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ninja combi oven is great appliance; it’s easy to use, cooks food well, and looks great on my countertop. The oven is built super well and feels high quality. It seems durable as it is made of high quality parts like stainless steel. The stainless steel also makes it super easy to clean. The oven also comes with three inserts: a bake sheet, a deep pan, and a crisper insert for that deep pan. I wish it would have included a wire rack but maybe that will be offered as a future accessory. The material of the pans are not covered in Teflon but they feel like they would be sort of non-stick. The best part is that they are all dishwasher safe which makes cleanup extremely easy. The controls for this unit are simple enough and there are a lot of different settings. The top the oven has a switch that flips between air fryer and oven. Depending on which way the switch is flipped, the machine will cycle through a number of presets. Regardless of what the switch is flipped to, you can set the time and the temperature with dedicated buttons. The key feature of these ovens is the ability to cook two layers of food at the same time: one layer that’s more of a crisper (for something like a chicken breast) and another layer that is more for like steaming, for something like rice or vegetables. The good news is that it performs as an oven and an air fryer equally well. First, I started with frozen chicken fingers. I followed the instructions on the package for an air fryer and it turned out exactly perfect: crunchy on the outside but still juicy on the inside. Next, I tried air frying fresh broccoli. I tossed it in (probably too much) olive oil and salt. I was surprised to see how much steam came out of it but again, they turned out perfectly. There is a pizza setting, so I decided to give it a shot. It was a 12 inch pizza and while it struggled to fit, it ultimately fit on the bake sheet. The top of the pizza came out perfectly. The bottom was cooked, but i think it would have been better if there was a wire rack I could have put it on as it was less crispy than I wanted it to be. I think a personal pizza on the crisper tray would have turned out perfectly. Overall I was impressed with the performance of this unit and it earned its place on my countertop.

Works Great When Using the Combi Modes!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Combi All-in-One is a multicooker that sits on your countertop. It is much larger than a countertop microwave but should still fit under most cabinetry. Despite being a pretty large appliance it’s not all that heavy and therefore, I plan to keep it on the countertop only when in use. It is made well, and I think it will last many years provided it is kept clean. What works well on this appliance is in its namesake: the “combi” or combination cooking where you take a side such as pasta or rice and add a protein like chicken, beef, or fish. The pasta or rice will go into a pan at the bottom with water and the protein will go on to the tray at the top. You can also add vegetables to either the pan or tray depending on what it is and how you want it to cook. It does an impressive job of steaming rice or making pasta (complete with the sauce) without the need to boil or drain anything. One of my favorite things to make with this method is shrimp stir-fry. It is incredibly convenient to be able to put everything into one appliance and just let it do its thing. However, I did find that even when following the directions in the recipe book you may have to experiment with times and temperatures. I found it was way easier to burn or overcook something in this appliance than a regular oven, likely because it’s much smaller and can heat up much more quickly. When in doubt use a shorter time or check the food periodically until you’ve done that dish a few times and can trust the timer. While I see the benefits and conveniences of the combi cooking functionality, I was less impressed when using a single function such as air frying. This is something I do frequently for my family of four and with the Combi I quickly realized its limitations as just an air fryer. First, you need to add the included “crisper tray” to the pan used for rice. Then add your food on top. When air frying you need a way to turn the food at least once, if not more times, for the best results. With this appliance, you must pull the tray out (with an oven mitt) and then turn each piece individually as the pan is too shallow to shake. I’m used to my air fryer with its large deep basket that allows me to not only do a lot of food but also has a handle that I can grab without an oven mitt and give everything a good shake as frequently as I want. Air frying can certainly be done in the Ninja Combi but with the shallow pan I avoided turning my food, and as a result everything I attempted to air fry came out unevenly cooked. As a bonus I was able to use this machine to proof some pizza dough before baking it and a nice touch is that the light on the machine will turn on in the last minute or so of the cook. Pros Multi-functional Cooking Tool Can Cook Multiple Items Quickly Easy to Clean Includes Recipe Book Oven Light Quiet Food for Up to 4 Cons: Takes a Lot of counterspace Not the Best Air Fryer Overall – It works best when you are truly using it to cook multiple things at once. It can make things simple and convenient. It would also be great for those whose budget or kitchen space is limited. However, if you’re buying it mostly for one function, such as air frying, it may not be the best option.

does a bit of everything!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit unsure about this unit when i got it. A combi unit it stated and wasn't sure how it would work. But after taking it for a few spins. This is quite the appliance to be honest. I have a full kitchen so this isn't the best for me personally but i can understand the attractions for those that have a mini kitchen/dorm room/apartment. Possibly even the work break room! Let start out with the 2 modes - air fryer and then Combi. You make the selection via a big switch on the top. I really like air fry and this was the attraction initially. It works well, does what you want. And you ahve the ability to adjust the cook temperatures and times. I usually adjust the time and wait for it to be done but I had to let this one preheat. Worked as expected - cooked a few items and all was well. Lets talk about the combo oven part - this was a bit intriguing to be honest. You could possible feed a family of four out of this but i thought it was on the small side for my family serving sizes. Although for 2 its a perfect size. We did some chicken and vegetables. It turned out quite nice, easy to setup and clean. Even did some baking in there for cinnamon roles and they were delicious. Replace your oven and airfryer into one appliance and save some room and add some other functions to your cooking. Nice and well made!

Large and easy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Ninja Combi All-in-One Multi-Cooker, Oven, and Air Fryer is a game-changer. If you do not have an air fryer, or if you need an upgrade, this is the one to get. It has a larger capacity than my previous air fryers, and the see-through door lets you visually check the cooking progress. It includes a bake tray, a combi pan, and a crisper tray to handle almost anything you would want to cook. The control panel is very intuitive with simple settings for the most common uses. The Smart Switch on the top of the unit allows you to quickly change the mode to what you need. There is an included quick-start sheet to help you get going right out of the box to make a Combi meal in less than 30 minutes, even for a very unaccomplished cook like myself. There is an included inspiration guide that has a ton of recipes in it ranging from complete meals to veggies to dough to cakes to pasta to sauté to sous vide to pizza to much more. The capacity allows for up to 6 servings prepared at once depending on what you are cooking. If you are pressed for time and ideas for meals at home, get this unit. You will love it and wonder why you did not do it sooner.

Space Efficient Not Sure Replaces Toaster Oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As usual this Ninja product seems heavy and solid, and is like a square block of countertop cooking marvel. It is unusual since it combines the air fryer/oven with a bottom-heating liquid-capable pan for cooking things like pasta and rice. And all at the same time. It came with a little book of ideas and recipes to get you started. I decided to cook a small batch of rice in the bottom pan with some chicken tenders in the upper section that I bake with mayo and seasoned bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. The chicken normally comes out tender with a slightly crispy outside when cooked in an oven or toaster over, or other air fryer. Well, using the combi setting, the rice and chicken were done in 20 minutes--but the steam from the rice made the chicken kind of soggy and not appealing. So some thought to be given in the future there. It worked great for heating up leftover pizza on the crisping/toasting tray. The combi setting worked fine for thawing/browning frozen pot stickers in the bottom pan while heating frozen egg rolls above. I also used it to reheat baby back ribs, the result was great. You can make toast in it, but I had to flip it over to get the toast brown on both sides. I hope I don't miss my toaster oven when it comes time to heat up taco shells.

Very fast and very tasty meals
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m surprised just how much I like this new cooker from Ninja. Rather than merely an air fryer or cooker, they’ve added heat to the bottom pan, and that generates steam that helps everything cook fast without drying things out. It can also be used as an air fryer, but the steam is what sets it apart. I cooked rice (regular not instant) and a thick entrée in around 10 minutes and had a meal for two. You can also throw some veggies in and have a three-course meal. To be fair, there is a short preheat time to warm the water and get the steam going, but it’s only 2-3 minutes at most. The steam not only speeds up the cooking, but it keeps the entrée moist and tasty … even if you crisp the top. I found the instructions moderately helpful at best, so plan on experimenting to figure out the many different settings and ways this combi unit cooks. I still have a lot more things to check out … roasting, simmering, combi-crisp, etc., but I’m looking forward to more fast and tasty meals. This is replacing our Ninja air fryer/roaster, and it’s highly recommended.

Plenty going on
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently had a chance to check out this multi-cooker. There’s a lot going on with it, in a good way, and I’ll try to cover as much as I can here. Out of the box, this isn’t anything fancy, very much a what you see is what you get situation with the device, cooking pan, trays, instructions/recipe guides, etc. No fancy packaging which is more than common for kitchen appliances, especially Ninja, so I’m not docking them for that. The device itself is sleek with a black/stainless steel look and a digital display that should compliment most modern kitchens. In regards to a Lehmans comparison in sizing, this is akin to a large air fryer or convection oven but smaller than most microwaves. It’ll take up a lot of counter space but not a deal breaker. I cleaned the pans/device (as you should) with soap and water after unpacking. While you’ll always need to hand-clean the device, the internal accessories can just go in the dishwasher which is nice. The main two selling points here is that the device can do so much. Without listing everything, it can air fry, bake, toast, broil, sear, etc. Due to its versatility, you can really rest easy and rely on the device to replace many other devices you may already be using. Secondly, and arguably most importantly is that it can do two things at once, such as you can bake some chicken on the top of the interior shelf while cooking pasta or steaming rice on the bottom part. There’s a little lever on top of the device that you’ll move back and forth depending on if you’re wanting the device to run a singular function or use the multi-cooker. Again, it all loops back to being versatile and using this as an easy replacement for other devices. Cooking was a snap and I tried a few recipes out of the guide, my favorite of which was the Italian sausage and marinara pasta (so far). All of the recipes are easy to do, give proper timing and measurements, including serving size and ease of recipe as well so you can start slow and work up to more “difficult” recipes. I was particularly surprised at how the pasta and rice have always turned out as they’re never wet, never overcooked, never sticky, and really operate as a well tuned machine. The display lets you pick your method of cooking, temperature, time, has a light display, start/stop, and a power button. Times will preemptively populate if you’re selecting something like pizza, and you can even select how many slices you’re reheating, which is an easy win. A few small things I noticed that I liked too was that at any point during cooking, you can open the door to check on/stir food and while closing it, the timer will just pick up where you left off. Additionally, the light always seems to come on with 30 seconds left, making it easy to determine if your food is ready without having to open up and lose the heat. Afterwards, I was pleased to find that nothing was overcooking or dirtying up the device which made interior cleanup a breeze while I just threw the accessories in the dishwasher. My only gripes here come to the sizing as you could probably get away with cooking for 3-4 people but likely 1-2 is what you’re going to end up with at this size of a machine. It was a little unclear when steaming/preheating how long things will take and the status of that, but it seems to be a progress bar that loads up and seemingly most things end up taking around 5min to preheat but again, it’s not too clear. While I can certainly get behind the device, the folks who will get the most out of it are those using it in a smaller kitchen space or wanting to downside. If I didn’t have an oven for example or even stove and wanted an air fryer, this is perfect as it replaces so much. That said, there’s always a lot going on with the device so a bit of a learning curve regarding what accessories you’ll need to use and what shelf they need to go on and what setting you’ll need to cook at, so you’ll definitely want to use the recipe book for a long while until you’re used to it. All in all, two thumbs up from me!

The most useful thing in my kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really didn't think I'd like a piece of kitchen hardware this much, but I do. It's just so versatile. I haven't even got done exploring all this thing has to offer because quite frankly I don't even know what to do with some of it, like the sous-vide cooker. But here's what I can say about what I actually know how to use. The Combi Meals function is great. I've mainly made things like spaghetti and meatballs or alfredo Mac and Cheese with chopped bratwurst, but it's been really great for this. It feels like some of the flavor of the meat usually manages to get into the pasta while cooking, but what I can say for more certain is that the instructions to cook the pasta in its sauce have led to much more flavor in the pasta as well as a whole lot less time standing about and staring at a pot - which is appreciated, because I'm busy these days. The air fryer function is also nice, as is the bake option, etc. While, in my opinion, the Combi Meals and Combi Bake functions are the real stars of the show, it's just nice to have all of these functions in one machine so I don't have to have so many different appliances scattered about. The functions all work well, and selecting what you want it to do is fairly intuitive. Ninja made the entire work flow pretty easy, to be honest: pick your mode, select your temperature, hit the start button. There's also a little button to toggle the interior light, which is nice to have when you're wondering if something is getting close to done. I think my favorite thing about the Combi is that Ninja included a pretty detailed instruction manual and recipe book. There are just so many things you can cook with this! It's honestly impressive to look at, particularly since the recipes in the book are of course just a subset of what you can actually do. But the important thing is, there's enough in there that it's easy to get an understanding of what exactly this machine is capable of and start working from there. The pans included are great. The nonstick coating is just absolutely perfect. I've never had an issue trying to get them clean after making a meal. However, make sure you're careful with them - I made some pasta to share with a guest and they scratched the bottom pan with a metal spoon while filling their plate. They said that they didn't use a lot of force and were surprised when it was scratched, so I'm just avoiding using metal utensils near it at all. I imagine this is probably considered common sense for nonstick cookware, but it was something that slipped my mind and ended up leading to the thing getting scratched. I think the only thing I dislike about the Combi is that you have to be careful where you put it. There's an exhaust vent on the top, and it can put out a *lot* of steam. This can damage your cabinets if you put it under them, so I have to move it forward when I use it. Overall though, I think the Ninja Combi is an absolutely great piece of hardware. I really love having it in my kitchen, and everyone seems to like the meals I make with it when I have guests over. More than a few of my guests openly stated they were jealous and wanted one for themselves. So, yeah - I think this is a really good purchase to make. I'd *highly* recommend it.

One oven lotsa functions, STEAM!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before deciding to buy check ninjakitchen.com they had a ten percent coupon and around a hundred dollars of free accessories that came free. This unit can basically do everything a stove can do plus air fry and sous vide. I like to say that this machine was born to cook italian dishes that include cheese and pasta, the unusual part of this device is the steaming function which is what makes it good at things like chicken parm and any cheesey/saucey recipe that includes a pasta or rice. Be aware it works best with white rice but you can sometimes find mildly processed instant brown rice that will work with it if you don't want to use white. I made a chicken parm with banquet mega fried chicken patties and elbow macaroni or rotini came out great and took less than thirty minutes including melting the cheese. There is a bit of a learning curve to this machine and while most of my attempts have been successful had a couple of fails too...for instance don't try to make spaghetti and sauce same time that was a fail on my playbook elbows n rotini work much better. I love the air fry function for chicken of any description from wings to quarters to breasts to thigh 13 minutes per side flip once fully cooked and not too crispy on the outside even with skin. The dutch oven was great for mixing up a batch of sauce with canned ingredients came out perfect. I'm really liking this guy and the more I use it the more I learn about it. Spanish rice(aka red rice) should work well as well as a variety of casserole type dishes. Try it you'll like it. If you're low on counter space this guy fulfills many functions and so far has been easy to clean and haven't had to use the steam clean procedure provided in the manual yet because it seems the next time I use it anything baked on from the last time ends up on the bottom of the even easy to wipe out.

This Ninja is a cooking Ninja!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was anxious to give this Ninja a try because it has a wide variety of cook functions, including Combi meals, Combi crisp, Combi bake, air fry, bake, broil, pizza, steam, proof, rice/pasta, toast, sear/saute, slow cook and sous vide. That sounds overwhelming, but it is very easy to use and the directions for each function are fairly simple. I started with a simple Combi Crisp of boneless chicken breasts. It cooked them perfectly with a grilled type finish on the outside, and a juicy interior. The recommended cook time worked well with no need for additional minutes. Next, I tried the air fry function with some thinly sliced potatoes. Again, the instructions were simple and thorough, and the fries were slightly crunching on the outside and soft on the inside. Loved them. My final test was a Combi Meal. This involves a starch cooked in liquid in the bottom pan, and vegetables and a protein on the top shelf. All cooked at once in a short amount of time. I chose a boxed long grain and wild rice, carrots and boneless chicken breasts. The instructions indicated an amount of water with the rice that was slightly less than the box instructions. I split the difference on the water amount as I was afraid the rice wouldn’t be fully cooked. The carrots and chicken were perfectly roasted, the rice had a bit too much water. I was able to take out the carrots and chicken and cook the rice a few more minutes to resolve that issue. I should have followed the instructions in the Combi cook chart! I haven’t tried the other functions yet, but the results from the three I have tested indicate that the other functions will work as desired. The oven seems to hold a constant temperature as needed, the steam element works well in the Combi process and it browns meat well. The recipes in the Inspiration Guide, which is included, indicate serving 4-6 or 6-8 people. I feel like based on the oven size and the amount of food that fits well in the trays, this is much more suited for 2-4 servings. The best part about this device is that it takes the guess work out of preparing a balanced meal and does so quickly, with great results. This multi cooker is perfect for those new to cooking and those with limited time to prepare meals. It is also a great purchase for those looking for one device that will cover a wide variety of functions. I highly recommend the Ninja Combi All-in-One Multi Cooker!

A versatile machine
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom Line: The Ninja Combi All-in-One can bake, steam, and air fry, but it’s not quite as easy to use or efficient as the individual appliances it intends to replace. Pros: versatile all-in-one; can cook complete (Combi) meals at one time. Cons: needs careful placement if steaming; not intuitive or as efficient as using individual appliances. Review: The Ninja Combi delivers on its advertised features of offering multiple cooking modes and multi-cooking 15 minute meals. It does this with two heating elements: a top broiler (and fan) and a bottom element that directly heats the Combi pan (a deep pan). The unit also includes a shallow baking tray and a crisper tray that fits inside the Combi pan to elevate food off the bottom (essentially what you would get in a typical air fryer). There are two tray levels, which, when combined with different heating options, leads to several, versatile cooking options. In our experience, the air frying works just as well as a standalone unit, and we’ve successfully made everything we’ve tried from the included booklet/inspiration guide. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well Combi meals turned out, which allows you to cook a grain (rice/pasta) in the Combi pan while also cooking vegetables and proteins on the baking try at the same time. That said, the Combi meals generate a lot of steam, which vents out of the top of the unit. We had to place the unit on the edge of our countertop and turn it at an angle so the steam wouldn’t hit the front of our cabinets. Last, one of the challenges of a multi-function appliance is that it is not as intuitive or as efficient as individual appliances. For instance, toast gets made in the Combi pan placed on level 2, and takes slightly over six minutes. My wife attempted to heat up a Pop Tart on the the baking tray on level 1 and ended up charring most of it, so there is a learning curve to using the machine.

Wonderful!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply another superb product from Ninja! I’ve had a chance to use this product now for about a month and have cooked numerous meals from the recipe book that this product contains inside. It is rather quite amazing that it cooks different items at the same time and does it very well! The unit is very solidly built and comes with a crisper pan, bake pan and the combi pan, all of which seem to be made with the same quality as the unit itself. I have tried just about all the settings on this unit over the month and after the first few meals I got the hang of the machine quickly enough to not have to refer to the operating instructions. Having made about 15 of the meals in the handy recipe book, I can safely say that they all turned out wonderful except for one little mishap on my part during making a pizza. I was skeptical that one could cook chicken or fish on one tray and potatoes, pasta, vegetables on another and have it come out cooked well and finish at the same time. This unit performs very well on both aspects. After the above mentioned meals, I have experimented with my own recipes and cook times which have also come out well. On a side note, I have an adult son with special needs who does not use a stovetop or oven but cooks with an air fryer and microwave on his own. I taught him some simple recipes using this machine and he loves using it. As we begin transitioning him to his own place with our help, this unit will be going with him so he can make his favorite meals. All in all, Ninja has a winner with this product!
