Not an ice cream maker, but it does the work
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is well made and does a great job mixing the frozen preparation into ice cream. I wasn't really aware that it was just a mixer for frozen products. So it was disappointing as I was looking for the traditional, nostalgic churning device. I should have done my research. 3 stars because this machine is a glorified mixer.

My Ninja Blender and Cuisinart do a better job.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own several Ninja products and I was really excited when I saw the Ninja Creami come on the market. I had a Cuisinart previously -- loved it and used it frequently for 7 years -- then the motor went. I was looking into a replacement and thought I would spend the extra $150 on the Ninja. Well, after doing most the prep in my Ninja blender, freezing it for 24 hours, and the attching it to the Ninja Creami -- it just blended it or pulvarized it into a dipping dots powder. I tried multiple settings, adjusted my recipes (I make low sugar and full sugar bases, with/without eggs, etc -- all were creamy in my Cuisinart), and still couldn't get a creamy ice cream after 7-8 attempts. It literally turns on, "churns" for less than 5 minutes, and delivers a disappointing ice cream. Definitely not worth the $200 price point. Adding a few ice cubes to my Ninja blender with the base does a better job. Plus, you'd think they would have designed this machine to blend the ingredients, then you freeze it, and then slow churn, not blend churn, ice cream. In short, I am packing it back up and exchanging it for the $60 Cuisinart.

Fun and easy to use frozen treat maker!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Who knew making ice cream and frozen treats could be so easy? I've never attempted to make ice cream before, but definitely like eating ice cream. I figured this product would allow me to make healthier alternatives to store bought ice cream and I'm pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use! The Creami comes with a book of 30 recipes that include ice cream, sorbet, gelato, milkshakes, and smoothies. You can make your ice cream / frozen treat bases from scratch or use store bought ice cream when you don't already have some made up to make milkshakes or to use the mix-in feature and make Blizzard style treats. The possibilities are endless! There is also an entire Ninja Foodie community online that has even more recipes and ideas! I'll try to breakdown my review into the pros and cons of the Creami that I found... PROS: - The treat recipes that I tried are super easy to make and taste delicious! The online community of recipes was a nice surprise too! - The Creami looks great on the counter and is about the same size as my programmable coffee maker. - It feels solid and well-made and comes with a 1 year warranty. - Easy to use! The preset buttons make it a breeze to choose the proper setting for your treat. - The Mix-In feature that allows you to gently mix in extra ingredients at the end of the blending process. This allows the extra ingredients to stay in pieces throughout the mix. - Easy to clean! The parts are dishwasher safe, and the mixing blade comes out easily for cleaning and locks back into place easily. - The Respin option that quickly remixes your treat if you want to refreeze part of a pint and eat later. CONS: - You need to freeze your homemade bases for 24 hours, so unless you want to use store bought ice cream for milkshakes or mix-ins you'll need to plan your treats a day in advance. - The Creami is a bit louder than I was expecting. Similar to a blender. - The 3 pint sized mixing containers that come with the Creami, and the time it takes to mix each one kind of limits this to how many people can be served at a time. The mixing can take anywhere from 1 to 3.5 minutes, depending on what you're making, so it's probably not something you would want to attempt to use to serve more than a few people at a time. I think this product is a lot of fun to use and will be on my counter for years to come. Looking forward to try more of the amazing recipes that are in the provided book and online! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

Brilliantly Reimagined Ice Cream Maker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a fan of Ninja products for many years. I have particularly enjoyed the Ninja Foodi which I use regularly. The Foodi was a innovative product which ingeniously paired a pressure cooker with an air fryer. When I heard that Ninja was releasing an ice cream maker called the Creami I eagerly anticipated it’s arrival. I was not disappointed. Ninja has yet again brilliantly reimagined another appliance, this time the ice cream maker, with amazing results. In the box you find the Creami, 3 Creami pints & 3 lids, the outer bowl & lid, the Creamerizer paddle, a quick start guide, and a recipe booklet. I was pleased that 3 pint containers were included. The Creami is fairly imposing with dimensions at 15.92 inches tall by 12.07 inches deep by 6.52 inches wide. The quality of all the components is very impressive. Looking through the recipe book and it’s mouthwatering offerings had me debating what to try first. The Creami isn’t just an ice cream maker. It also makes lite ice creams, sorbets, milkshakes, smoothie bowls, and gelato. So many options and so many recipes. Just keep in mind you can’t just mix ingredients and instantly have a frozen dessert. That’s where Ninja has reimagined the making of ice cream treats. With the Creami you mix a frozen treat base, pour it into the Creami pint, and freeze it for 24 hours. You then insert the frozen pint into the Creami and it processes the frozen base by breaking it down with its Creamerizer paddle and its powerful 800 watt motor turning it into a creamy dessert. What a great idea. With 3 Creami pints you can create and freeze 3 different bases so they’re ready to go at any time. You can of course purchase additional pints too. To give you even more recipe options you can even add a multitude of ingredients using the Mix In mode. Here you can add candies, fruits, cookies and mix them into an already Creamerized base Yummy! I opted to start with ice cream and sorbet for my first Creami treats. I made a trip to the grocery store for an assortment of ingredients and canned fruits. I mixed my bases according to the recipes and popped it in the freezer. The recipes suggest that you can use fresh pineapple, oranges, bananas, and berries for a sorbet base. Or you can use canned fruits in syrup or juice. You just pop the frozen Creami pint into the outer bowl and insert the Creamerizer paddle into the lid. Close the lid and raise it into position. You then select the one touch button for the frozen treat you’re making. The Creami is loud as it does it’s thing. Surprisingly loud. The Creamerizer paddle lowers through the frozen base, cutting through and mixing the base and then it raises back to its starting position. It takes about 90 seconds from start to finish. I made a strawberry ice cream and an apricot sorbet. I frankly could not believe the amazing end results. The ice cream was rich and creamy and perfectly mixed. The sorbet was incredible. Particularly considering my base was simply a can of apricots in syrup and yet the flavor and consistency was remarkably delicious. I was utterly sold on another Ninja appliance. I immediately started planning my next recipes. So far I’ve tried mango, peach, pear, and orange sorbets with consistently impressive results. I have also made chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips, Oreo vanilla, and cinnamon bun. Oh my! I can’t wait to explore more recipes and creations of my own. The flavor possibilities are endless. The milk shakes are great too. I look forward to trying a gelato and the smoothie bowl option. Ninja has done it again. Highly recommended.

Know what you are buying, this is not traditional
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed in this. I have only used it once. I guess it is my own fault for not researching it enough. You have to freeze this ahead of time so while its an ice cream maker you don't just add ingredients and go. You have to decide the day before and put it all in the cup and freeze it. Just not what I thought I was buying. I did get a great price though. Maybe eventually I will have time for it.

Wanted to love it but had to return
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly the one I got was defective and had to return it. I followed the instructions exactly and the rotating bottoms that lifts the cup into place was clunky. I got about 3 good uses out of it and the recipes were good. But then one day when I thought I got it, the machine worked and then the cup got stuck and wouldn’t rotate back down and smelled like something was burning.

Best Ninja Product Ever
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying I never knew making Ice Cream and Fruit Sorbets at home could be so fun and so Delicious! As soon as my Ninja Creami was delivered I opened it up and began reading the instruction booklet because it was hot out and we wanted Ice Cream! The packaging was well constructed and the mixing Paddle had a nice wrap of cardboard around it so that it was easy to handle. Three one pint mixing containers with lids are included as well as the Handled Mixing bowl that holds the one pint containers for mixing. There is an abundance of Delicious Recipes to get you started so I started notating the items I already have at home and then listed what I needed from the store to get mixing. Once I returned home from shopping I started creating. The recipes in the booklet all require the mixtures to freeze for 24 hours so I started with making 2 base flavors of Ice Cream using the ingredients listed in the recipes. Strawberry and Vanilla. I found the use of Cream Cheese in the Vanilla intriguing. The recipes are easy to read and follow. Once the Vanilla and Strawberry were mixed and in the freezer I used some store-bought Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream to experiment with for the Mix-In setting. The Items I used to Mix-Into store-bought Vanilla Ice Cream: Mini Brownies, Soft Peanut Butter Cookies with Peanut Butter Chips, Swiss Mocha Instant Coffee, and Mini Chocolate Chips. I mixed each of these items in separate batches. I followed the instructions for putting the one pint container into the Outer Mixing Bowl then placing it on the unit and locking it into place. The panel display lit up and was VERY easy to see and READ. I selected the Mix-In button and moments later the Ice Cream was mixed. I pushed the release button spun the Handled Bowl back down, removed the Mixing lid, and had beautiful creamy Mixed Ice Cream! I do have to say that getting the paddle off after making a mixture is a little tricky but I learned to release it onto a plastic lid so as not to get ice cream on everything or drop the paddle because it's so cold or slippery depending on how long I let it set out on the counter. The Brownie was thoroughly mixed into the Ice Cream. The Peanut Butter Cookies were thoroughly mixed into the Ice Cream with the Peanut Butter Chips remaining whole. The Instant Coffee blended evenly all the way through and the Mini Chocolate Chip batch was well mixed as well leaving the chips intact. Both the Brownie and Peanut Butter Cookie batches were very creamy. I was thrilled with all 4 mixtures. I then made the Lemon Sorbet Mixture and put it into the one pint container so that it could freeze. The next day we tried the Vanilla and Strawberry Mixes. My freezer is set at 0 degrees so I first used the Ice Cream Setting and then used the Re-Spin setting to get them creamy. Both flavors tasted really good But we found that using the Heavy Cream in the recipe left an after coating in our mouths. (So I noted that and just used the milk and a little more cream cheese when I redid the recipes a few days later...Oh Yes much better! Loved them both!) Next to try was the Lemon Sorbet. The one pint containers are clear so I could see the nicely frozen lemon mixture. The Sorbet button was selected and this time was really fun to watch because I could see the progress of the paddle as it went down and back up. Truth be told I love Lemons and this was just so tasty and fun for me, I will have Lemon Sorbet in my freezer from now on! The next adventure was to make a Fruit Sorbet from a can of fruit. I was truly skeptical but my Granddaughter loves fruit cups so I had to give it a try. I made a Mixed Fruit Cocktail Sorbet and a Pineapple Sorbet. I let her help me after they were frozen and she loved seeing the pictures on the buttons and really liked seeing the fruit get mixed. She really enjoyed the fruit cocktail one she said it was yummy. I had to laugh though when she tried the pineapple because she stuck her fingers into the pint container and wouldn't let me put it in bowl. She just kept eating it out of the container! I really enjoyed eating it too! I also created a layered mixture of fresh Banana, Vanilla Yogurt, and Strawberries. Again my Granddaughter helped and again she was thrilled. This is her favorite Ninja Product by far. So in summary, I love my Ninja Creami! Everyone who was at my house this weekend that tried a creation ate it all and made a request for more. There are now several suggested flavors for their next visit. Awesome Product. I highly recommend it.
