The ninja strikes again!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja it seems has been making quality kitchen products now for quite a while. So, when I got the chance to review its newest offering - the Dualbrew coffee maker, I was more than excited. This appliance is a dynamo when it comes to quality, convenience, and versatility. I have been waiting for a product like this for quite a while. To be honest, prior to this I had two different products in my kitchen to serve the purpose that the ninja now serves. I had the all too famous "K" brewer, along with a standard carafe brewer for weekends ;). The ninja incorporates both in a very sleek and easy to use appliance. I was pleased with the quality of the build. This is not a "cheap" feeling or looking appliance. So how does it do both? The magic is in its brewing basket. When wanting a single serve "K" drink, simply pop the attachment into the brewing basket - and your ninja is now a "K" brewer. Want a large traditional carafe? Take out the attachment, put in a filter and scoop in your favorite grounds. What's more, attached to the side of the unit is a double-sided scoop with recommendations of how many scoops to make various sizes - from a large cup to a carafe - taking 7 large scoopfuls. Just like the good old-fashioned brewers, you can delay/set a time for it to automatically brew. For our household that is at 0530. The Ninja's features don't end there! You can also select the type of brew. From classic, which is as the name states your usual strength. Also, there is the "Rich" setting which makes a more condensed and flavorful pot of coffee. Like iced coffee drinks? The Ninja has a setting for that too. Just make sure that your receptacle is full to the top with ice, and you are good to go. I am a huge fan of multi-function appliances. And the Ninja Dual Brew serves both "K" and traditional carafes in a high quality, space saving form factor. You can't go wrong! Literally. If you love coffee, I guarantee you'll love the Ninja Dualbrew!

Great for different brews
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We like our new coffee maker and it’s ability to do pour over grounds along with k-cups. At first I didn’t think there was a programmer but there is. The storage tank is ok in size but won’t last long. The carafe is very nice. It comes with a scoop attached to the side. My only gripe is during grounds / pour over the attachment gets messy inside but that’s probably because I’m using 12 cup filters I guess we need a different one but it’s a mess everyday I have to clean it. Also while the water tank detaches for fill up the cover isn’t great and it’s hard to pour in while attached because it’s so slim. But coffee is fast, taste great, and is nice and hot. I would recommend

Nice Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been patiently awaiting arrival of this coffee maker. It’s a bit soon to report on all of the great features. I bought this to supplement an inexpensive Keurig K-Essentials single cup coffee maker that I already had replaced under warranty. I read the directions and went through the setup just fine. I was most interested in trying the single k-cup feature. I purchased the Aieve reusable k-cup that accepts ground coffee and it worked great. Someone also makes single disposable paper filters that fit into the reusable filter to further prevent grounds. I think that was a common complaint. I will most likely never make a pot of coffee since I am by myself but it’s nice to have it. I didn’t bother with setting the clock or any of that. I don’t plan to leave it plugged in. My only concern was that the warming plate stayed on for a long time while I tried the single cup feature and could imagine getting accidentally burned. I couldn’t get it to turn off. I think it’s a great looking machine and has fantastic, easy to use features. I plan to register the warranty today as you only have 10 days to do so.

Does what it's supposed to do
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Interesting concept: a "two in one" coffee maker (brew plus K Cups). The intention was to reduce space for those with limited counter tops. Does it do what it's supposed to do? YES .. BUT:. It does NOT do them both at the same time, and that's important to the prospective buyer to understand from the outset. You can brew coffee grounds (it does NOT GRIND COFFEE BEANS, however!) OR use K CUPS, but not at the same time. Does it do those separate tasks well? YES, no problems. Accompanying instructions are clear and easy to follow. There could be a minor bottleneck if two users might be on the same schedule and both wanting THEIR coffees at the same time, but that's something that would have to be worked out ... though ... in the end ... does not prove to be a big deal, since both procedures can be accomplished in just minutes of each other. In the end, if the desire is to create more counter space and replace two separate units with just one, this Ninja - DualBrew 12-Cup Coffee Maker does it all very well.

Makes excellent coffee!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this coffee maker. We use pods most of the time but it’s great to have the convenience of making a pot of coffee when company arrives. The one thing I’d like it to have is a handle on the water reservoir as I have arthritis in my hands.

Single pod or Carafe for friends in seconds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice setup to convert from single pod brew to brewing for a group of friends. The whole conversion kit is contained on the unit in a stylish easy transformer like setup, this includes the coffee grounds scoop. Usually you have parts hiding in drawers or cabinets like my old coffee pod maker. Ninja figured it out and nothing to lose over time. On the top of the unit you have both water drip units that just drop into place for pod or full drip brewing methods. While my wife is the big coffee drinker in our house. This solved a problem that kept happening when our friends would be over. Pods are great till 5 people want coffee and often more than one cup. This DualBrew does the job perfectly. Big pot of coffee for the friends and single mug for the wife. Very easy to switch between pot or pod and few sizes in between. There is even a mug shelf to flip down to keep the single serve from splashing too much. And maybe because the DualBrew is new and my old pod coffee maker is quite old. My wife believes the coffee brewed with the DualBrew was smoother tasting using the same pods she has been using for years.

Towering over all other appliances
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design of this unit makes it clear that Ninja expects you to start your day with a carafe. If that's your morning routine this will make a nice addition to your counter top. The unit is easy to use, the display is bright and crisp; exactly what your half-opened eyes need in the morning when prepping that first cup. It's also the tallest appliance in the kitchen, asserting its dominance over the Ninja blender, and pressure cooker. If you use more K-Cups than carafe's you may want to look elsewhere. The K-Cup functionality feels more like an add on than an integrated part of the design and switching back and forth while not difficult is tedious. There's no drip tray when brewing a Keurig cup - that last drop or two from the K-Pod at the end of the brew cycle is left to fall to the warming plate. Also be prepared for a bit more of a mess when pulling out the K-Pod because this unit punches 3 holes in the K-Pod. The result is a bit more overflow with each pod.

Great coffee maker + pods bonus!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I love this coffee maker! I like specialized coffee drinks always cold, and my wife likes straight up regular coffee. This allows us to do both, plus when we have guest over, they can bring their favorite K-Cup pod if they want! The mechanism to hold the grounds basket/pod attachment seems a little bit iffy, like the longevity might not be the best, but hoping it holds up!

Good machine with lots of options and a drawback
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were using an aging Keurig that needed replacing. This Ninja dual brew is a nice new upgrade. It has several pros and so far only 1 con. Pro Has multiple configurations regarding where the water reservoir sits, making counter space easier Hot water only feature! Wife loves the ice coffee brewing setting. I like the custom brew settings and size choices. Con Pod brewing only fits real pods. It does not fit or accommodate the reusable pod baskets that you can use in the Keurig. This is a minor inconvenience and still a nice upgrade to our old unit.
